Hello? Again, this isn't about other QBs....you said he hit Little in stride, I said he didn't...post the vid if you want so that everyone can laugh at you...he had 5yds on the DBs when Colt threw it (would like to know if he would have thrown it even with the CB being right there because he should have since the S was out of it and it was a 1on1 deep) and then had to slow down for the ball
Just because it was 1 of his better throws doesn't mean that it was a good one...it was an easy read and a so-so throw...and if that was his "best of" deep throw, then god save us

LaVonte David visited Tuesday!?! Why isn't that the lead story?!? My ideal draft would be Tannehill at 6 in a trade down with the Rams for Washington's 2nd rounder. Get a WR and a RB in the next two picks. Then LaVonte David with the extra pick and a quality RT prospect with our third rounder. That moves the offense forward in a big way and starts their WCO learning process for 2013. And we add a great speed Will with fantastic instincts in David.

I like Lavonte too...it's hard not to...but you have to wonder if he holds up against the run in the NFL...normally guys, even elite ones, like him (undersized 4-3 only LBs) drop to the late 3rd to 6th range but since he's such a great player against the pass (OLB/SS hybrid) and this is a pass heavy league now his stock is higher...at worst he's your nickel LB and still plays every 2nd down but that's just comparable value to a nickel-CB and the 2nd would be too high for that
I would not take him at 37 as there's more value at that point for sure...maybe with an extra mid/late 2nd rounder but even that is a little too high for my taste....I like him at 67 (though I think even there I'd have someone else over him) and I think there's a good chance he'll drop that far....looking at the entire draft though I like the value of Carder or Trevathan on the 3rd day better but wouldn't complain too much if we draft David

The thing that turned me around on Heldawg's guy is that he seems to have a knack for creating turnovers. Bobby Wagner and Demario Davis are guys we should jump on should they fall to the third IMO, but David I think is worth a 2nd if we have an extra.

You want TOs? L.David had 2 INTs and 3 FF...sure, nice Trevathan had 4 INTs and 5 FFs and he had 4 FF last season too

He stole the ball from Braxton Miller which proved to be the turning point in the OSU Nebraska game this year.
David's number one quality is that he diagnoses plays as fast as any college linebacker I've ever seen. It's Ray Lewis like.
And then he has the wheels to blow the play up in the running fame faster than the pulling lineman can get there. It's uncanny. He's one of the top 15 football players in this draft at a position of great need for the Browns.
WILL backers are not drafted highly though due to a few factors. That's the only reason he might be there at 37 or 39.
No one we draft would have a greater day one impact on our defense than David save for Claiborne maybe

Well, I definitely don't think he's a perfect prospect. I've never seen him fight off a block. But when he gets moving he gets upfield quick, he's got a good club for the ball, and he's a heck of a lot more instinctive than anything else we're trotting out there at WOLB.

You reminded me. The other great quality of his is that he is a super reliable tackler. Almost a lost art at this point. He gets the player down and rarely goes for a kill shot which speaks to his discipline. Add in the fact that it keeps Gocong at SAM and it's simply a great pick for the Browns.

Excellent... grab 'em both!!
it's not like we couldn't use the depth and flexibility. Aside from DQ, the guys we have in there are getting OLD.

Man, you will do almost anything to take a shot at McCoy won't you
we have Little, Cribbs, Watson and Moore to play jump ball.. this guy might be the kinda guy that breaks peoples backs.

That's 21 -- do any of those count as local?
A few names I love on there, a few that scare me -- i guess that's normal

Baylor wide receiver Kendall Wright arrived in Northeast Ohio for a pre-draft visit with the Browns on Tuesday, and he will continue to meet with the team on Wednesday, the Beacon Journal has learned.
If the Browns don’t select Oklahoma State wide receiver Justin Blackmon fourth overall, Wright would be a logical candidate for the team to target with its second pick of the first round (No. 22).
I'd like both, please.
I've actually been thinking about this as a possibility as well. Take Blackmon at 4, the best available WR at 22 or at the top of the 2nd round (Wright/Hill/Floyd/Sanu). We can then use the 22nd overall pick or the 2nd (depending on when we took our 2nd WR) and take the best available RB (Wilson/Miller) and spend our 3rd round pick on the best available RT (Massey/Allen)
Our offense would then have added two stud WRs to complement Little, one of the 3-4 best RBs in the draft and a solid RT prospect...all within the first three rounds.
We obviously want to be a passing team. Look at teams like the Packers who have 3 great receiving options (Jennings, Nelson and Finley [who's a WR playing TE essentially]) or the Saints with Colston/Meachem/Moore/Graham.
I don't think in today's NFL you can have too many offensive threats. I think this gives McCoy the best chance to succeed and will show his true colors.
If he can't done it with all that talent, then we will probably be awful next year and picking someone like Barkley or Bray will give us a franchise signal-caller who can come into an offense that would actually provide him with solid targets.

I think the talent at RT drops off faster than either of the other two positions you mentioned -- outside of Kalil/Reiff/Glenn/Martin there isn't much I like at the tackle spot (or at least, not much I'd be comfortable starting this year).
There are RBs and WRs in the 3rd and 4th rounds I'd be comfortable getting later. I think the talent at both these positions is exceptionally deep this year.

I'm please with their choices at OT, echoing my wishes for our next RT.
Stanford OT Jonathan Martin (visit) -- NFLDraftScout.com projection: first-round pick.
California OT Mitchell Schwartz (visit) -- NFLDraftScout.com projection: second- or third-round pick.
I don't see Schwartz making it to pick 67, so we would either have to take him at pick 37 or trade back into the 2nd round later.

I only have one game worth of film - but I don't see it at all -- he has really really stiff hips. I probably have him as a 4th-5th rounder right now.

I dunno. I actually think Colt works well with that type of receiver (Wright). Someone who's shorter and quicker like Shipley.

If we miss out on a RT at 22, I believe Swartz is very likely maybe even at 37.

Yeah, some will say you don't draft a RT high in the Draft. That's ideal, but we have screwed the pooch and must bite the bone, because we don't have the luxury of developing a mid round prospect for a couple of years. Our guy will have to come in and learn on the job.
Martin comes from a WCO system at Stanford, so he should be able to understand the blocking scheme coming in.
Everyone seems to be stuck on the skilled positions in this Draft, but we absolutely have to fill that hole at RT (finally)

I really, really, really, hope we are able to pick up Martin with our 2nd Rnd pick.

Looking at that list, I'm going to go out on a limb and say that we're wanting to trade down out of #4.
There are a lot of first & second round guys on that list... more than I'd expect for just us looking at guys at 4 & 22.

Jags love to move up in the draft. Trade down to 7 would land us at least a 2nd. That would be huge.

I know that they have been pretty active in the past few Drafts, but they did sign a WR [Robinson] in FA and if they stay at 7 then they probably will have a choice of Floyd or Melvin Ingram.
I guess they could still be a possible trading partner, but I think that they are in a good draft position to fill their needs at 7.
I'm thinking the Rams at 6, with a chance that the Bills could try and trade up by offering their 1st next year and a 2nd or 3rd this year.
Miami doesn't make since as they will probably be looking to trade up above us if they trade at all. KC would also be looking to do the same with a trade up.
Dallas could be a dark horse, but it's hard to project who we could be targeting at pick 14 with a high % of certainty that said prospect would be there.
I guess the Panthers at pick 9 could also be another possible trading partner.
I just really like a lot of the prospects they have brought in for a visit.

How have they not brought in LaMichael James for a visit? And How is he not a 1st round pick, he might be the best player in this entire draft.
Can Deshaun Watson play better for the Browns, than Baker Mayfield would have? ... Now the Games count.

Last year we drafted only three of the players that visited. A player not visiting doesn't have anything to do with whether or not we draft him.

Right - sorry, I meant that it was 2 of our 3 top picks -- i.e. the guys who we draft in the first round, are pretty likely to be on that visit list. The list is pretty highly tilted towards top picks, and we're unlikely to risk a top pick on a guy we haven't looked at closely.

I think that we should go defense with our entire draft, and really build that defense up to a top level. I actually think that some people would have a stroke if that happened.

Not to mention the defensive players currently on the team.
Well the Browns are going to miss Mike Adams more than anyone will want to admit. There's still a chance someone will replace the Brian Sanford types.

2012 NFL Draft: Top-rated defensive prospect Morris Claiborne announces his arrival in Cleveland By Nate UlrichPublished: April 5, 2012 Northeast Ohio has become the latest stop on Morris Claiborne’s tour of pre-draft visits. Claiborne, a standout cornerback from Louisiana State who’s considered the top-rated defensive player in this year’s draft, announced on Twitter that he arrived in Cleveland at about 8:30 p.m. Wednesday. Claiborne is among 30 national prospects the Browns are hosting before the draft, a league source told the Beacon Journal last week. The 5-foot-11, 188-pound Claiborne made national headlines Tuesday after Pro Football Talk reported he scored a four on the 50-question Wonderlic test. National Football Post later reported that Claiborne has a learning disability. Claiborne insists teams have told him they don’t have an issue with his low Wonderlic score, and he remains confident he’ll become a top-10 pick on April 26. The Browns’ top priority is offense, but they could still pull off a surprise and target Claiborne with the fourth overall selection – a scenario we explored in our most recent mock draft. Claiborne is just one of several big-name prospects meeting with the Browns this week. Oklahoma State quarterback Brandon Weeden spent Sunday night and almost all of Monday with the Browns, the Associated Press reported. And Alabama running back Trent Richardson gave his Twitter followers a quick thought about his visit with the Browns when he posted the following message Wednesday evening: “Had a great time in Cleveland. It’s in God’s hands now.”

Of course that was just a guess on Claiborne's part as he's not sure how to tell time.
