This has been the worst officiated tournament I've ever seen.
43 made field goals, 48 fouls called.
Unreal.
*They were equally bad both ways, not complaining because Ohio State won, just an observation that the refs ruined what should have been a great game*
Instead of being a great game to watch, it was almost unwatchable.

I agree they called it really close.. But I thought Ohio State was the better team. Smith Jr was the player of the game. Hit some really big shots when Syracuse was making a run.

I agree. I'm not sure I've seen such ticky-tack foul calls between two big league teams. And, like you said, it was both ways. There were a number of calls that maybe were fouls, but you let them go.
I'll say this, though. This is the first OSU game I've watched and that Craft kid can play some ridiculous defense.

I thought Sully had a great second half, really went to work. The defense great for the most part, they let some guys get to the rim, but the way the game was being called, and only having so many fouls, you just couldn't shut everything down.

I know I've used this word to the point where it sounds like a lame cliche, but it defines them: Resilient
I think back to the Wisconsin game where it looked like the wheels were about to come completely off. Deshaun Thomas mentioned when he felt OSU was final 4 caliber. It was the game at Northwestern it looked like OSU was about to have a complete meltdown but they held on. At Michigan State when they were down by 10+ they could have packed it in, but they didn't. Against Cincinnati when the Bearcats made their run in the 2nd half, OSU still kept their composure and went on a run. Again today against Syracuse when the Orange would make runs, OSU would always have a response. When Sully was out, guys stepped up.

I want Kansas. I just want Sully to expose Patrick Robinson. I think he's getting way too much pub for what he is and I think they are the team that would be the "easier" opponent for the Bucks of the two.

Correct me if I'm wrong on this, but it seems to me the KU game early in the season was the game Sully was out with the back spasms..

Hmm..
You would be correct. We were close with them the entire game. It was at their place without Sully. If we play them on a neutral floor with Sully we are the better team imo.

Well said, and I think you'll agree with this one: Any team that can overcome a guy like Buford's inconsistencies in a single elimination tournament this far is a force to be reckoned with if that guy could find his touch for one f'n game.

Thats what I thought I remembered. All my pals kept saying that had Sully been on the court, it would have been our game even at their place..
Boy.. this has been a season. I remember earlier in the year when I was pretty down on the Bucks performances and you and I were having different "opinions" (lol).. you were more positive about them then. I'm glad things have turned out this way. I did NOT think they would make it to the 8 at all.

Great story... I don't know if it was posted on here or not but Aaron Craft's brother was deployed to Afghanistan yesterday... I read that he was suppose to be flown out the same time that tip off...
overall I'm very happy for our guys... they came into the season with a lot of expectations but had some major bumps in the road. I think they did get a little lucky with a Syracuse that was not at full strength, but we did play some great defense yesterday!
The game was way too ticky tacky for me in terms of the refs... hopefully the finals will be better called...

I probably don't need to say this, but enjoy this ride fellas. I felt last years team was one of the greatest in OSU history. Yet they didn't make it as far as this years squad.

It's been fun, between the lockout, and just general interest, I saw about 75% of their games this year.
I think it's been Thad's best coaching job. On paper last year's team looks much better, but that's just not how it always works. This team has a toughness about them that was missing last year.
Even last year's team was very good and were a play or two from moving on last year.
I think last year's team loses last night's game. They had to deal with some bad officiating, losing their best player 6 minutes into the game. I don't think they survive last year.
I honestly believe they will meet UK in the championship game setting up a rematch of last year's classic. Can't say I'd pick them to win, but interesting enough, the roles are a little reversed.

Kentucky was just bigger, faster, and better skilled than Baylor, other than that I thought it was a favorable matchup for the Bears

Kentucky did not cut down the nets to celebrate making the Final Four, because the only nets they care about cutting down are in New Orleans.
I LOOOOOVE that they have that attitude.

If they did or didn't, I personally don't know, I'm going by what was posted on one of our message boards. It's a no lose situation, really. If we did, we deserve to. If we didn't, I love the attitude. If that makes sense? *Edit - I don't know, because I was doing shots at the bar after the final buzzer went off

I thought Matta was doing a lousy job coaching up to the Michigan State game at home. He finally started to get guys like Scott, Amir Williams, and Ravenal some minutes.. THey have all showed at some point or another that they could play and contribute. Deshaun Thomas really started to take off, and lead this team in scoring.. Smith Jr, and Craft have been dominant on defense, and also have chipped in on offense. I can't say too much good about Buford other than the last game of the year against Michigan State.
Last year was just a fluke. We probably would've beat Kentucky more times then they would.. We got beat by 2 on a last second shot, when Buford shoots 2-16. That stuff happens in a single elimination tourney.

The way some of our students celebrated was classless and they do need to act like they've been there before. There's a video of some UK students burning a couch. On the UK boards, I'd say 90% of the posters are agreeing its pathetic, me being one of the ones who agree that it's pathetic.

I don't have a problem with anyone cutting down nets. It's a big thing even if you have been there in the past. I don't think it's showing anyone up.
Also, I love the way Terrence Jones play. You can tell with the way he conducts himself out there, that he's going to be a damn good nba pro. I think that's the kinda guy Dan Gilbert and Chris Grant are looking for.
