you sure are optimstic. I see a murders row of RB's and QB's that the Browns have to face.
There isn't one QB on the schedule that McCoy is better than.
The Browns have yet to show they can stop the run.
how can you have the Browns going 2-0 is amazing.
Philly is a juggernaut on offense. Andy Dalton will be that much better with a full off season and the cancers are gone from the Bengals lockeroom.

Dallas, eh? Sounds expensive...

Been to JerryWorld once, saw Sam Bradford bust his shoulder on the turf. The place feels like the freakin' IX Center. I'd love to see my Brownies there, though.

5-11...Some may call me a pessimist, I call myself a realist. I guess I was optimistic last year when I said they would win 6 (or did I say 7)?

Couple of games I'm looking forward to:

(1) Home vs RGIII and Skins...by Week 15 we should have a pretty good understanding if the Browns attempt and fail to land RGIII will be a whew or a f!!##^%#$%#
(2) Week 1 - at home vs Philly...tough oppenent....should know right away how good we are
(3) Giants - SB champs...will they overlook us? If they do, will it matter?

Well ... we haven't won an opening game in how many years? It would be nice to finally get one.

I'll wait till I see what we do in the draft before I make my season predictions. There was a time when my standard prediction was 16-0 until proved otherwise ...... but the beatdown of the past 2+ decades has beaten that stupidity out of me.

I'm just glad the schedule is out so I can get them on my calendar and make some plans for other things this fall (weddings, vacations, etc.).

I refuse to say how we're going to do since it's pretty pointless. That's why you play the games...

Man, I honestly don't see a single game on there that I believe we *should* win. I know that we've known the opponents and home/away matchups for a while now, but actually seeing it laid out and being able to take stock of it...man. Rough. Really rough.

Wow did we get set up to pad some schedules.. .... that is a rough road. I only see 3 games that I "think" the Browns should win. then throw in one or two divisions wins (maybe), and 5-11 is right.

I was hoping for better this year, but it will be hard to see progress against some of those teams. We'll just get blown out.

Every time it feels positive round these parts, we stink it up worse than expected. This thread is making me feel optimistic . . .

I know losses are losses, but I see the words "blown out" a lot. We don't get "blown out" all THAT much. We were in a quite a few games last year. And this draft will help. No way it doesn't.

I don't think we'll necessarily be blown out on the scoreboard, but teams will definitely have their way with us more times than not. Think first Ravens meeting last season...they only put up 24 but man it felt like they could've put up 50 if they really wanted to.

This schedule is much more favorible than last years. There are no 3 game road trips, the Baltimore and Pittsburgh games are not back to back,

This is a really good schedule, this is a really good way to lay out the games, really this isn't as bad as most years, this looks like what I usaually would complain Dallas gets.

You finsish up at Denver and at Pittsburgh. Even if you're out of it, if you have a healthy team you have bench marks if you can play well in those games, so something worth watching, maybe.

Dallas is the closest game to Memphis? How far is Indy from Memphis? I'd guess about the same.

" How many wins if Tannehill starts?"
Who is his runningback? If we have Tannehill starting with LaMichael James and Chris Ogbonnaya ... Well, Wherever Lamichael James goes they're winning the superbowl.

I said it, LaMichael James, Super Bowl, any team , rookie year...

It is an outside of the division AFC north, inside of the conference, AFC, game.
It probably has to do with how the Browns and Raiders finished in the division.

We get Kansas City and San Diego at home, the league probably thought a game AT Oakland would be an easier game for the Browns than a game AT San Diego. They would base that on the division standings of the Browns, ( last place, Oh Lord not again, (( Al bundy impression )) and wherever the teams finished in the division standings before the playoffs started in the AFC west.

The AFC West division was really screwy toward the end last year.

it looks like it will be best if Colt goes 14-2 or 2-14. Anything in between will not settle the fan base and make a decision for us. The Browns winning 7-9 to 11-5 will gain questionable support while less than 7 games will only keep the fans divided.

Another 5-11 type season will have the mob out for everyone's head

I'm not going to predict our record, but I do know this,

If we draft Tannihill or even a QB in the 1st or 2nd round this Year, come January 2013 were going to be talking about which QB to take AGAIN with the # 1 pick......

Us fans scream & moan for Offense and than turn around and wanna draft Tannihill.....Tannihill.....We need Richardson and I can live with Blackmon,

WE HAVE HOLES THE LAST ONE WE NEED TO FILL IS SIDELINE CLIPBOARD HOLDER / WASTE OF A PICK

super...Colt McCoy's destiny might be in his own hands.

If he plays well and leads the team to an 8-8 record, that might be good enough to save his own job.

If the Browns can manage to go 3-3 in the AFC North - which I think is possible, based on how tight most of the division games were last year - there's no reason they couldn't finish 8-8. Buffalo, Indy, Oakland, KC, and Washington are winnable games, imo. Steal one from Philly or San Diego, and you are in the playoff discussion at 9-7.

columbus...Colt may hold the key to his own future as an NFL QB...but he has to prove himself on the field.

IF McCoy gets another opportunity to prove himself and he does it...I have no problem with him as the Browns starting QB.

I believe the odds are against McCoy, but I have been around sports long enough to know athletes "do prove critics wrong" and exceed expectations when they are down to the last chance.

Some athletes thrive on such a challenge and rise to the occasion...many do not.

I think the NFC East is terribly over-rated. The Giants won the division with a 9-7 record. If they hadn't won toward the end of the season, they would have missed the playoffs altogether. I'm not saying we're going to beat every NFL East team, but every one of those teams IS beatable. I think we'll win a couple of them.

Overall, I'm guessing we're looking at 7-9.

My methodology for predictions:

1. If a team has a better QB than you, mark it as a loss.

2. If your QBs are equal in skill, all rookies are in this category, you have a 50% chance of winning.

3. Add one victory you should not get.

This will get you to a prediction within 1-3 games either direction.

2012 prediction:

1. Philadelphia Eagles FOX 1 p.m. Loss Vick > McCoy
2at Cincinnati Bengals CBS 1 p.m. Win 50% chance
3 . Buffalo Bills CBS 1 p.m Loss Fitzpatrick > McCoy
4 Baltimore Ravens NFLN 8:20 p.m. Loss Flacco > McCoy
5 New York Giants CBS 1 p.m. Win Random victory, SB rule
6 Cincinnati Bengals CBS 1 p.m. Loss 50% chance
7 at Indianapolis Colts CBS 1 p.m. Win 50% chance
8 San Diego Chargers CBS 1 p.m. Loss Rivers > McCoy
9 Baltimore Ravens CBS 1 p.m. Loss Flacco > McCoy
10 Bye
11 Dallas Cowboys CBS 1 p.m. Loss Romo > McCoy
12 . Pittsburgh Steelers CBS 1 p.m. Loss Roethlisberger > McCoy
13at Oakland Raiders CBS 4:15 p.m. Win 50% chance
14 Kansas City Chiefs CBS 1 p.m. Loss 50% chance
15 Washington Redskins FOX 1 p.m. Loss 50% chance
16 at Denver Broncos CBS 4:05 p.m. Loss Manning > McCoy
17 at Pittsburgh Steelers CBS 1 p.m. Loss Roethlisberger > McCoy

Palmer, Cassel, Dalton x2, Luck, RG3, are the wild-cards.
Giants are the superbowl winner upset.

Browns 2012 record will be 4-12 or 5-11.
