Said this guy had concussion problems.

I dunno if I want that over our heads. I hate having guys who get all these concussions, just makes me feel awful. Kinda why I was happy we let Brodney Pool go. Liked him a lot as a player, but I just wanted him to retire

I'm as big of a homer as any Toledo fan, but epic fail on his part coming out early.

When you're short and slow by NFL standards the odds are against you to start with, then when you come out early from a MAC school... man, you've got to blow people away in workouts and the combine - clearly he didn't do that.

Guess he either really needed the money (that an UDFA contract will bring) or really hated being in school. One more year couldn't have hurt him. Best of luck wherever he lands - it was a pleasure watching him dominate for three years.

Well, at least he'll get some nice weather out of his decision to leave early.

I see what you did there.

But seriously, how about we play some games before you make any judgments.

LOL, doesn't it make all the sense in the world that Burfict would end up in Cinci....>LOL

As an aside, Minnifield went to the redskins

Why? Just like everyone else commenting about the picks, I'll give my views of them and the draft as a whole. It sucked canal water.

There are only two players on the whole draft which the Browns selected that I would have taken. Trent Richardson and Billy Winn. Not a single other selection would I have taken. Not one. Most of them were reaches that weren't drafted just a round early, but two (or more) rounds earlier than they should have been.

Wouldn't you agree that the draft will have not sucked if all the players make the team and contribute significantly?

But will you get over your misery?

At some point you will embrace these guys, right? At least give them a chance before writing them all off as garbage

These are the new players on our favorite football team, and at least MY favorite sports team, period. Open your heart, cheer for them, and hope for the best.

If Weeden falls on his face, Schwartz looks worse than Glenn and Martin, Hughes gets cut in training camp, and the rest of our draft picks look like garbage, then start getting really upset.

This misery of yours will end eventually? Please say it's so

You're allowed to walk around with cowboys boots, a pick tutu, a leather vest and a sombrero on but don't expect for anyone to take you serious.

It takes time to judge a single draft selection let alone an entire group. Make all the judgements you want, you're just going to sound like a loon.

If they contribute significantly to winning? Or contribute to losing?

Trent Richardson and Billy Winn won't translate into a better team when our divisional opponents upgraded at more positions with better players.

In my opinion, we've made steps backwards with this draft.

Let's take a look at players on the roster that have been here as long as or longer than McCoy which regressed last season and whom few (if any) people have suggested we replace.

1. Joe Haden. He was drafted the same year as Colt McCoy. He regressed last year from his rookie season. Anyone calling for his head?

2. TJ Ward. He was also drafted the same year as McCoy. He regressed and was injured for more games than McCoy. Weren't there injury concerns about him when he was drafted?

3. Mohamed Massaquoi. He was drafted the year prior to McCoy. He's regressed and was injured. Few (of which I'm one) have called for us to get rid of him. Some (including this front office) think that he's a perfectly good receiver.

4. Montario Hardesty. More fragile than fine crystal. The fat lady sang and his bones shattered before the crystal did. Few are echoing that he should be jettisoned.

5. Kaluka Maiava. Hasn't contributed much at all and his greatest talent is keeping the bench warm on winter games in Cleveland.

That was a really good reply, then you had to ruin the moment with your next whinney-boy post.

He probably isn't.

He does have some valid concerns though .... much as I hate to say so given some of the "reasons" he's come up with for some of his arguments ......

However:

Ward has been injury prone. Nothing major .... but he missed 8 games last year with a sprained ankle, and was an injury concern coming into the draft. He's definitely a high end player when he's on the field, but he's got to be there consistently.

Hardesty has been a major, big league, unadulterated bust. We have got nothing out of him in 2 years because of this injury or that injury. He had the worst yards per carry of any of our RB last year. This is a make or break year for Hardesty. He needs to show something against real competition. The shame is that he looked so good, with so much incredible burst before he got hurt as a rookie.

Haden is fine. Today's pass rules make it hard for any CB to be a true "shutdown" guy, and every corner is going to give up a play here or there. Haden is a pretty solid cover guy, capable of playing one on one. He can really flip his hips around in pass cover, and tackles well in addition to covering well. That's a nice piece to have in today's NFL. I disagree that he regressed. I just think that teams tried going against him more because he covered the #1 receiver more last year.

Massaquoi was drafted by Mangini. I still think that he can be a solid receiver with a real NFL QB throwing him the ball.

Maiava is a backup LB taken in the 4th round of the 2009i draft by ....... Mangini. He's a valuable special teams guy, and a decent, if not overwhelming backup. He could be replaced this year, or he might squeak by onto the final roster.

In the end, year, there are major concerns about Hardesty, and some concerns about Ward. (though Ward's play is getting better and better, and he is probably a top 5 - 7 SS in the NFL right now)

The rest is just complaining.

Jermaine Saffold, Cleveland UDFA signing. 1:55 does a good job of getting the inside-leverage off-coverage DB to turn his hips outside before cutting in.

That QB they've got is not afraid to sling it! After years of watching the Browns and Buckeyes I'm not used to that.

This catch shows some skill and toughness by our other UDFA WR, Josh Cooper.

We have zero UDFA RBs to this point
