Been saying that for years. He doesn't care that much about winning. I'm sure he'd like a title, but I don't think he wakes up everyday dying for one, like some of these guys do.
He wasn't even on the floor in crunch time in that game the other night. That was their big 2010 signing. They swung and missed on Lebron and Wade. Their giant signing was a guy who isn't even good enough to be on the floor when it matters.

To be fair, Boozer has been really good throughout his career. This year he just fell of a cliff in terms of production.

seeds 4 - 10 in the West are all about even. Indiana would be right in line with any of them. they have enough depth that their seed will always probably be 1 or 2 better than their 'playoff' talent.
that said, alot of good things. Granger was playing well on defense early, then started attacking LeBron (mistake) and getting burnt. Hibbert was on and off, but his defensive presense was there when he was on. They need more of that.
Paul George needs to show up. Collison needs to get more minutes with the 1st team (I get George Hilll is better for most series, they need Collison for this one).
Overall, scrappy game that Indiana didn't seem to have a shot at winning yet stuck around the whole game. If Bosh's MRI comes back bad tomorrow, then this series could be wide open.

They can probably still find a way to get through the East without him (although the inevitable Boston series just became more interesting) but there is no way they get through any of the big dogs in the West without him. I know we all make fun of him and think he's soft, but that is still a big loss, if he cannot come back.
Indy is a decent little team but they are in the same place the Cavs were at their peak.
They just cannot really get any better. FA's aren't going to go there, the lottery is out of the question unless they go into tank mode or have a bunch of injuries in 2012-2013.

Big blow for Miami, but thems the breaks. Bosh is soft or whatever, but he's automatic from the midrange and the free-throw line, plus he draws the opponent's bigs away from the basket. You don't need to worry about guarding Anthony or Turiaf more than 5 feet out.
Lebron and Wade will need to play 40+ minutes each every night, and they'll need 25 points off their bench, which means someone will need to get hot from outside the arc.

do Western Conference players get hurt too or is it just an Eastern Conference thing?
Griffin and Paul get dinged up but not enough to keep them out. Same for Kobe and his illness.
but, then the East has Lin/Shumpert/Amare, Rose/Noah/Gibson, Bosh, Allen w/ Rondo suspended a game already and Pierce dinged-up, Dwight Howard
ridiculousness this year in the East

Yeah, I meant to say just they are at their max. If they want to add a great player, their only realistic shot is to draft and develop one with a lower round draft pick, which is really really tough.
The Cavs were a much better team even though they didn't have the talent spread around like Indy. They had a top tier player and good support guys, but there was always an issue of having that second guy, and at times, some depth.
I think Indy has a few "second guy" type players like Granger and West, they just don't have that one guy, as mentioned before

Unfortunately I believe Wade and Lebron are too much for any team in the east. However they NEED Bosh in the finals.

at his peak, sure he could be enough to make them legit. in his current state, he might be too TO happy. definitely would be a boost at PG (and Hibbert along with their team-defense would help mask his deficiencies at that end).
if they don't get Gordon, then I could see them making a run at him.

I doubt they have the money for Deron Williams, and based on his time in Utah I doubt they'd even want him.
They are such a solid team that I don't even know beyond them trading multiple pieces for a superstar, I don't know what they could do...
If there ever was a team that need to JUST miss the playoffs and then win the lottery Chicacgo/Derrick Rose style it'd be them...
And for everyone that fears getting "stuck" like Indy did, watching them last night, in a few years if they can keep it together, I would LOVE to have a team like that...

that's the problem with a team like that though. if Paul George has a good year right before his contract is up or if someone goes crazy on Hibbert (whether or not they match), then all of a sudden that corps is going different directions.
it can still be done, but the FO needs to be really smart at which pieces are the most easily replaced (regardless of name recognition with fans) and move from there.
