Pink Floyd
Time
One of These Days
Wish You Were Here
Us and Them
Learning To Fly

-Really hard to pick songs from them. I'd rather rank their favorite albums because the songs barely work without the context of the surrounding tracks.

Boston
More Than A Feelin'
Foreplay/Longtime
Peace of Mind
Cool The Engines w/intro
A Man I'll Never Be

-My penultimate classic rock band. Journey took Boston's ideas and watered them down for mass appeal.

The Beatles
With A Little Help From My Friends
A Day in The Life
Octopus Garden
Hey Jude
I Am The Walrus

-It's hard to pick five songs from them.

Oasis
Champagne Supernova
The Shock of Lightning
Morning Glory
Wonderwall
Don't Look Back in Anger

-They never really caught on in the United States. It's a shame because they were a fantastic band.

The Foo Fighters
Best of You
Times Like These
Walk
My Hero
Everlong

-A band which constantly reinvents themselves with each new record. Dave Grohl is a talented individual.

Good call on Oasis. My favorite band, and pretty much the only band I listen too. I honestly don't think I could pick 5. It depends on what album I'd be listening too that day. My first dance at my wedding was actually an Oasis song. Slide Away from an accustom set Noel did in Chicago in '98. Probably my favorite track ever. Check it out if you're into Oasis.

Oasis:

-My Big Mouth
-Slide Away
-Live Forever
-Don't Look Back in Anger
-Be Here Now

The Beatles:

-Let It Be
-With a Little Help From my Friends
-Lovely Rite
-I Am The Walrus
-Helter Skelter

Man, it's tough picking top 5 songs. Makes me really want to throw an album because I kept remembering songs I had forgot about.

I'm not even gonna name other bands. If I'm not listening to those two, it's usually just the radio. I could probably list my favorite Nas songs, but he's not really a band. Muse has some real good albums and are awesome live, but I usually listen straight through amd don't pay attention too specific songs.

I love Noel's solo stuff. His acoustic renditions of classic Oasis tunes are some of my favorites.

Have you checked out his solo project? It's quite good.

I Üon't know if these are my top 5 bands ..... but here are some different ones I like anyway ......

I must be in a sentimental mood or something.

John Waite/ The Babys:

Missing You
Isn't it Time
Every Time I Think of You
When I See You Smile
Back on My Feet Again

Ambrosia:

Holding on to Yesterday
How Much I feel
Biggest Part of Me
You're the Only Woman
If Heaven Could Find Me

April Wine

Just Between You and Me
Sign of the Gypsy Queen
All Over Town
Crash and Burn
I Like to Rock

Electric Light Orchestra

Evil Woman
Strange Magic
Livin' Thing
Turn to Stone
Don't Bring me Down

Def Leppard

Photograph
Foolin'
Rock of Ages
Animal
Run Riot

Mostly more popular songs ..... but like I said, I'm feeling a little bit sentimental and nostalgic today.

Micah 6:8; He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.

Oh yeah, the High Flying Birds. Liam's got a band too, called Beady Eye. Noel's stuff is awesome, Beady Eye is....meh.

I wish they didn't break up. I also wish Liam's voice didn't take a turn for the worst. I saw them live in '06 and '07. Wish I saw their last tour, because from the videos I've seen it seems like he was finding his form again. What I'd give to see live in '96. I watch the concerts all the time.

Too hard to remember everything but.. top bands of all time for me:

Beatles, I could pick 30 of thier songs, but could never narrow it down to 5..

Chicago, again, same problem.

Santana,

Oy ya como va
Black Magic Woman
Jingo
and probably 20 others

Temptations: Oh man,, that list is almost as long as Chicago

Stevie Wonder..

Sir Duke is probably my favorite but My Cheri Amore is strong as well.. and then there are tons more that I'd never be able to pick from.

Then the King.. Elvis. forget about it. no way I could pick just 5

Well, Derden says we can't do the Eagles, so I guess I'll have to bring in a sub:

Joe Walsh

Indian Summer (love this song)
Midnight Man
Walk Away
Rosewood Bitters (Joe covers Michael Stanley)
The Bomber/ Closet Queen/ Cast Your Fate To The Wind

BTW Derden, you must have been born well after the 70's, because if you'd been there, you'd be Skynrd-out like the rest of us.

Man....Oasis?!?!

I haven't heard people drop that name n quite awhile. One of the first albums I bought as a youngster was Definitely Maybe, and we listened to Live Forever, Supersonic, and Rock n Roll Star all the time. Actually, the whole album was good---but we bounced all around the house listening to those I named.

I lost interest in the band shortly after What's the Story. Though loved Don't look back in Anger, She's Electric, and Cast no Shadow, amongst the others you mentioned.

At one time I owned these boxed sets of all their singles and b-sides off the first two records. I used to really like the one song The Masterplan off some B-side.

I actually still have this framed concert poster from them playing Cleveland way back in 1995...

Dave, there's a lot more than 5 I could have gone with, Zeppelin, Alan Parsons Project , Steeley Dan, Bob Seger and so on, and of course you limited the thread to "groups", omitting Don Henley, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Ted Nugent, etc.

So if we ever met up for a beverage and I love to by the way, I'll be sure to keep Queen off the juke box list, provided you leave the Stones off the list. Gawd Jagger annoys the hell out of me.

I am gonna guess that you would not list Mojo Nixon who wrote and sang "Don Henley Must Die". Actually I like Henley too; "Boys Of Summer", "I Will Not Go Quietly", "New York Minute" are faves of mine.

Maybe you guys already knew this, but he was referencing a scene in The Big Lebowski, where The Dude gets kicked out of a taxi because he requests that the cab driver turn down the Eagles song playing on the radio.

I think it comes down to style much more than preference for an individual artist/group. So maybe the question should be, what radio stations have you selected for your Pandora account?

In that case, I have a Don Henley station, a Supertramp station and a Molly Hatchet station. Surprisingly enough (or maybe not so) I get a lot of Pink Floyd on the Supertramp station.
