I'm undecided on Crennel.

People hate on the OL ... so we make changes ... and changes .... and changes .... and changes ..... and the line gets lambasted even when they play a solid game as they did against the Bengals ..... but they suck .... they suck ... it's all their fault because they suck .....

The line wasn't the reason we lost to the Bengals.

No one (at least not that I've read) have said that the OL is the only problem on offense.
Its just the most tangible.
Forget the passing game and it'll be more clear. The TEs and OL are the problem in the running game. Sure the RB could be better, but look at the penetration up the middle.
The passing game is more complex.
RAC has maintained in every press conference that the problems are hard to fix because they are so spread out. Tape review supports that.
Our problems in the passing game are all over the place (unfortunately the OL takes the brunt of the hit unnecessarily), but the lack of a running game is the core of our offensive woes, IMO.

As for the Bengals game, seemed like the line laid a solid egg. As for this article, I think it's just stirring up bad negative press, as usual from the press when things aren't looking good. I think RAC and Frye are both going to be here next season, however, if things are as bad as they are now at this time next season then I think we will see major changes, either Coach, QB, or both.

On our 1st drive we ran twice for 7 yards. (out of 6 plays)

2nd drive started with a 5 yard run, then we couldn't convert a 3rd and 1.

3rd drive: 1 pass for no gain, 1 Frye run for 2, 1 incomplete.

4th drive: Frye to Cutt for 43 ... then 3 more passes and a long FG try.

5th drive: 5 passes, no points.

In the 1st half, we had 6 running plays. I seem to recall 12 total for the game, so at least we're balanced.

Of course, by the time our first drive of the 2nd half started, we were down by 23, and needed to score in bunches .... and quickly. Generally not the time to try and establish the run .... so thank goodness we were playing the absolutely worst pass defense in the entire NFL.

Yeah .... that worked. We made them look like the Ravens.

We are NOT running the ball - I've proved it over and over again, we gave up running when it was 14-0. I show you rushing on successful teams on the QBs you brag about and this is the garbage you come up with? What a joke. We ran well in 2 games, guess what? Frye played good and we won both - TALK ABOUT HIS PLAY IN THOSE TWO GAMES - FIND GAMES WHERE WE RAN WELL (meaning the running backs) AND DISECT THOSE - games with 12 runs are pointless to disect. It all comes down to running - quit ignoring the facts. If we were running 40 times a game rather than passing 40 times a game and Frye wasn't improving, you'd have a point - but for now you are in quicksand. Quit ignoring the facts and start looking at the RB.

I hope you are watching the Bengals v Ravens, there's approx 9 minues left in 2Q and they said Palmer has been hit ONCE. This is the Ravens we are talking about - the RB are picking up the blitz, a couple times he held the ball for 4 seconds. That's what we need.

sometimes a passing game will open up the run game. just like a running game will open up the passing game. we have neither one to help the other.

tradition can only carry you so far, then you have to start winning again.
