I remember back in college (miami of ohio so many of my friends were from cincy) the last time the Browns were on monday night the stadium was packed and they posted the attendance on TV. My friends from Cincy were all amazed that many people went to a football game. I just told them, its like that every week rain or shine, warm/cold, 2 wins or 10.
Alot of those guys are now portraying themselves as the greatest Bengals fans on Earth, but if you ask them they only started going to games in the past two or three years.

Yeah, I was around to see your idiotic posts too  But, the thing about Derden, is his opinions are fine. I think he has had some good points in football discussions (excluding the whole K2 being a bust thing), but who really wants to read about how he wishes a whole family had died in a car wreck? It's not just this post either, like Jules said, he takes every thread, and says something idiotic in order draw attention to himself. He's ruined many good threads by saying something idiotic (Like this one for example)

They're not real fans! I've been a fan since I was in grade school. I miss the days when there were no bandwagoners. They wear me out!!!!  When I first started my job here 7 years ago there were two fans. Me and my boss. I got all his extra tickets. Now, everyone seems to be a fan and I have to share!

I have never seen him "ruin" one thread, without some holier than thou wanna be hooting an hollering about how wrong he is.
If you don't like what he says, fine, but don't act like he is ruining threads with a few outlandish quotes.
In my opinion, "the follow the rules, holier than thou, shame on you..." types are just as bad around here, if not worse being that they are like dominoes...

It bothers me when I take my (just turned 8) son to a game and there is a middle-aged guy 5 feet from us drunk off his gord dropping 'F' bombs every 5 seconds.

He doesn't bother me. I didn't even notice he said that thing about a car wreck until everyone else pointed it out. I just glanced over his post.

The thing about Derden is if he actually knew anything he would have picked a better namesake from Palahniuk's characters. Saint Gut Free is from a collection of short stories called Haunted, that Palahniuk (hes the author of Fight Club) when he would read it out loud, caused 73 people to faint. Or he would pick Victor Mancini from Choke. Fight Club is good also, but its too Pop culture at this point to be worth naming yourself after a charachter from.

Merth, back to topic you mentioned the drunk dropping F bombs. Have you ever asked them to stop? I'm just wondering. I've told people to stop when kids are around. (mostly friends so that was easy) I know it might be intimidating to ask a drunk not to cuss, but I have a feeling most would feel bad and stop.
and off topic Derden doesn't bother me either. Some people take message boards way to seriously. He is just trying to tick you off. It's usually transperant, and he does talk football with some insight. (though not on K@ you big ummmmmm bad word)

I'm know I'm late to the party here, but I wanted to build upon this.
Something that infuriates me at CBS. I get up between series to go to "relieve some pressure". When I get done in the restroom, the next series of down is starting. So I light at the base of the steps before going up waiting for the next significant stoppage so I can climb the steps without blocking the view of the everyone trying to watch on the aisles in the 10 rows I have to climb up.
So I'm waiting there for the next stoppage and the usher comes up to me and expects me to climb during the play!!! Come on, Browns, figure it out.
I go to Blue Jackets games down here in Columbus and the ushers will not let you climb up or down to your seats during play "for the enjoyment of the fans around you." Why would the Browns promote the exact opposite (retarded) policy???
This overall policy is why we have inconsiderate fans who insist on getting up to go to the restroom, concession, merchandise stand, home, etc. during the play IMO!

I am a little late too...but what bothers me???? Not having Season Tickets!!!!!!!!!!   People getting Super Loud when the Offense is trying to call a play(and they say we are knowledgeable fans ) After thatit is pretty much the same as everyone else with the obnoxious, drunk(excuse me....SUPER drunk), lookin for a fight type of fan.
I thought I was wrong once....but I was mistaken...
What's the use of wearing your lucky rocketship underpants if nobody wants to see them????
