But hopefully Waiters and Zeller can be nice consolation prizes ^_^
Part of me thinks Gee can become a "solid" starting SF. While the rest of me knows he's probably going to top out at a 6th man SG/SF hybrid. Poor mans Iggy.
I think we're an athletic/scoring SF away from having a great young core. And while getting another high pick would be swell. I think we're going to be knocking on the door of the playoffs.
Am I the only one that pronounces hyperbole "Hyper-bowl" instead of "hy-per-bo-le"?

it's all about injuries. we are still extremely thin. a few injuries can derail our season like it did the last two.

Man I don't think I know anyone who hates Sublime.  Thanks for the vid though, that was well done, I'll have to check out that guy's channel. I remember saying "man why did we pick him he sucks" on draft day but I've come around on this pick. There's not many big guys coming out of college with his style of play. I'm feeling more comfortable with this pick now than the Waiters pick.

i was pumped about Zeller then, pumped after hearing he did well in summer camp, and pumped to see him get started on the Cavs for real.
i thought he should have been a top10 guy in the draft. hope he proves me right

Nothin wrong with drafting a 7 footer who can run the floor.
I kinda like how this thing is being built..
Kyrie comes in with Tristan, Dion with Tyler. Quick youth turnaround and I think it increases your chances of keeping this group together down the line, especially Kyrie who has superstar written all over him.
I just wonder of maybe this is the year where maybe they get aggressive in trying to naybe trade for a key piece.

I loved the Zeller pick. He not only can run the floor, but he's got a solid shot too.
I think that he's going to be one of those really valuable guys, even if he never becomes a star.

The thing is, if the Zeller pick busts out, I think it's less of a risk because of where you took him plus those measurables are hard to pass up. Guys like that tend to stick around for a while.
Not bad to have a guy like Z in the organization to offer advice. The way this game has turned that's a guy I would love to speak with if I were TZ.

I don't want to say these guys are lazy, but they sure as hell aren't hauling ass down the floor.
Roy Hibbert, Kendrick Perkins, Demarcus Cousins, Andrew Bynum, Marc Gasol.
They're not Antoine Walker bad, but the kind of effort we expect from TZ should really show.
There is still a pretty nice group of guys who can really get up and down though.
Oh and Sheed is back? He may not even leave his end of the floor, especially in NY. He'll just stand there like your uncle in a family game just waitin for a look, haha.

Yea, I was a bit upset that the Harrison twins didn't pick Maryland but hey, it's a step in the right direction that Maryland was even in the running... I did have to laugh when the Harrison twins said in their interview "We are looking forward to spending our next 4 years at Kentucky." Yea, right.

On the ESPNU recruiting show, they set the over/under at 4 years on how long both Harrison twins and James Young would be at Kentucky, combined. Obviously, take the Under.

I got this link via the Bulls beat reporter's twitter saying the Bulls are most definitely interested. I do think there is a chance LBJ comes back, but there won't be any dog and pony show with Cavs execs meeting Lebron. If anything, it'll be handled like a normal free agent meeting or not at all, and I'm fine with that.

NBA is 12 days away so they have to drum up interest.
Best part of our situation is we can sit back and laugh at all the hypocritical Knick and Bulls fans talk about how they didn't mean it when they said all those bad things about Lebron.
I'd love to have him back, but I'm not gettin on my hands and knees to beg him. Neither will Dan Gilbert and Chris Grant. We've got 4 young players developing, a coach who the players buy into, plenty of cap space. If he wants to talk, he's probably going to have to approach us, not vice versa.

Thunder traded James Harden, Daequan Cook, Lazar Hayward and Cole Aldrich to the Houston Rockets for Jeremy Lamb, Kevin Martin and future draft picks.
I think this is a GREAT trade for both teams.

Just Give the west to the Lake show. Unless Lamb pans out, you could say goodbye to the Thunder. They just lost 1 of their core group, just don't see where they will get someone to replace Harden. I've seen enough of Martin. Just a volume scorer on some bad teams. Just another slap in the face of small market teams not being able to keep their talent.

i love jeremy lamb, but as a guy 2-3 years from now. he hurts the Thunder trying to compete this season (he's going to have to gain a ton of strength to stay on the floor defensively)
this kills the thunder for this season. it may well wind up be a smart trade in the long-run, but it really hurts this year.
and the first cap-casualty of the new CBA is of course a small market team that built their team from within. unintended consequences continue

Durant, Westbrook, Ibaka, Perkins, Martin, Maynor, Lamb, Collison, Sefolosha, and Perry Jones is a 60 win team.
And they will have a lottery pick in the 2013 draft (top 4 protected).
The Thunder are just fine.

For my $ league I'm loving this trade, took Harden in the 2nd and now his value skyrockets as he is now a primary scoring option.  I don't like it for the Thunder unless Martin can magically find a way to stay healthy over the next 2 or 3 seasons when he struggles to make it through 1.

I'm with you Psydeffect, he was one of my keepers, looking for a monster season from him!
Kinda disappointed a little, I wanted the Cavs to sign him in the offseason. So I'm hoping he doesn't sign that extension, but I assume with the trade and the Rockets giving up so much they know something for sure.

the Thunder may be fine. but, the team THIS year is now less likely to win a championship. most likely, the one next year as well (unless J.Lamb takes off quicker than expected or that Toronto pick gets them an absolute stud)

If Perry Jones has his head screwed on straight, the Thunder will be a championship contender this season.
They still have two guys to match with Howard and Gasol (Perkins and Ibaka). And the Lakers can't stop Westbrook.

honestly, no, it's not true IMO
even if he has his head screwed on straight, he is a thin, rangy PF who is going to struggle on his initial jump up to the NBA level. if he gets his head screwed on straight, he could eventually become a "good" Lamar Odom type. if he doesn't, then he'll be "bad" Lamar Odom.

Yeah, I saw them. I don't think they are as bad as most people are saying they are.
Should be a good game though. Kentucky opens with Maryland and Duke. Very possible we could start 0-2.
