The potential for this backcourt is pretty much limitless.

This is one of my favorite Cavs games ever.

Andy with another rebound, and Kyrie hits 1 of 2 free throws, for a 108-101 lead with 12 seconds left.

52 from the guards. 30 from the bigs. Andy with 15 more boards to maintain his league-best average.

DeAndre Jordan backed off him, and Kyrie said "What'ev" and sent the Clippers fans home...

I love this back court. Teams are going to have a really hard time keeping up with them.

Zeller had a great game, and Andy was a beast again tonight. Miles had a nice job contributing while he was on the court. Thompson didn't contribute much from a scoring aspect, but he added 8 boards. He only took a total of 5 shots.

Nice game all around for the team.

I love the future this team has. Imagine if Dion and Zeller develop this year, to go along with Kyrie, Andy, and Thompson. (assuming that he continues to develop)

That's 5, with 2 potential stars, and 3 high quality bigs.

Maybe we can find an exceptional SF in the draft, and this team will be scary.

Wow the Cavs beat a team that has Crawford and butler? Those two always seem to bring it vs the Cavs. Probably draft day snub stuff. Nice couple of steals by Andy, and waiters was locked in like he was on adderall. Great win, guys! Makes up for the tough loss to bucks. I just had to teach my phone the word "win" lol.

Great team win. They need to realize that if they bring that effort every night they'll win a lot more than they lose.

Champions need a guy like Dion. You need a guy who can score when you need to.

a few notes on the game:

*Kyrie saved the game in the 1st quarter. we looked lifeless and he decided to turn things on.

*Kyrie didn't really have it the rest of the game. But, he seemed to know that and got others involved to keep things going.

*Whatever Waiters did at halftime, he better keep on doing it. He was great in the 2nd half.

*the Clippers are a horrendous rebounding team. they always go for the block and are off their feet and out of position. they got lots of blocks, but gave up lots of easy 2nd chance buckets as a result. if they ever figure out when to go for the block and when to stay at home, they could be dangerous (but i doubt it happens)

*Zeller + Andy + TT worked pretty well, but man we had to give them a ton of minutes. I don't know why Scott doesn't trust Samuels at all (just 4min last night), but he must not be doing well at practice. We need a 4th big man to step up and soon or we'll be in big trouble this year.

*Our defense is still pretty bad. We don't rotate on shooters and our guys haven't learned how to get through screens. Hopefully, it's just a work in progress.

*Overall, a great and needed win. Clippers have more talent than us but played very undisciplined ball. We were up and down but were still more consistent than they were.

I didn't get to watch the Bucks game, but last night was their best defensive showing thus far (that I've seen). They held Paul and Griffin in check for much of the game, but they still have a long way to go on that end of the court. The Carmelo-era Nuggets teams are evidence that you can't simply hope to outscore everyone. They ought to watch film of the Bulls game over and over to see how effective they were in shutting us down. Defense is a lot of attitude, effort and discipline, and it has to be impressed upon our young players.

This group is a breath of fresh air compared to the garbage we've had to ingest the last two years. The browns horrible coaching staff, the Indians with their Casey Kotchmans and Shelly Duncans and players screaming at fans for not showing up for a bad product or their president saying they're standing pat because of a slow trade market all while the rest of the league is wheeling and dealing.

There is a light at the end of the tunnel with this cavs group and you caught a glimpse last night.

You have to keep Blake out in front of you and not let him dunk all night. Gee did a phenomenal job on CP3

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - Cavaliers rookie Tyler Zeller suffered a fractured left cheekbone and a concussion when he took an elbow to the face from DeAndre Jordan of the Los Angeles Clippers with 5:39 left in Monday's 108-101 victory in the Staples Center.

A release from the Cavs said only that he was out for tonight's game against Golden State, and that a timetable for his return has not been established. But it would seem likely he will be out for a while and then likely return with some sort of mask.

Zeller left the game on Monday and X-rays at the Staples Center were negative. He traveled with the team to San Francisco after the game and was re-examined on Tuesday at Stanford Hospital and Clinics, where a CT scan revealed a non-displaced fracture of his left cheekbone and a concussion. He has been placed in the NBA's concussion protocol process. He will continue to be monitored and evaluated.

Zeller was playing great on Monday, and he had scored a career-high 15 points -matching his total points in his first three games. He is averaging 7.5 points and 4.5 rebounds in 18.5 minutes per game and had become a significant part of the rotation.

Yeah. I had hopes that Andy would make it more than 5 games before getting injured. Biggest reason I wanted to get an experienced guy at the 5...dude can't stay healthy.

I agree, a 15 point first quarter lead is nothing. It is easy to chip away at that with 3 quarters left.

Yeah, definitely. He's going to have to find his way developing his NBA game. He's also probably not going to go 7-11 from 3 point range in most games. That's better than some guys go shooting the free throws. lol

In I'd say 2 years I expect to get at least 40-45 from the back court just about every night.

Throw in TT and Z Jr. fighting for Double Doubles on a nightly basis...

I think that Samuels is a quality 3rd/4th big. He just needed some motivation, and I think that's just what Byron Scott has been working on with him.

John Leur might be the worst player in the NBA. Dude is embarrassing himself.

I was just going to say that he doesn't seem capable of moving at all on defense.
