Like I said, not a good idea to give up 40 in the first 12 minutes. WIthout Zeller and Andy we just didn't have the horses to overcome a 17 point deficit after the first quarter. That run to take the lead for a few minutes took everything they had and they were spent for the fourth quarter. 62% at the line doesn't help either.

I think it'll be a VERY close game. I think Kentucky's talent wins out in the end, but it'll be a 4-6 point game.

Always a better chance to knock off Kentucky in November/December than February/March.

I was so shocked when he got the Lakers job. He really underachieved here, losing to teams like the Magic, never beating the Celtics once. I know we didn't have the best teams in Cleveland, but he could never get over the hump. In La he was a total disaster. Never got it going out there.

I remember calling Mike Brown a joke back in 2008, and got BLASTED for it on here.

Bummer for him, I guess. Despite essentially starting an All-Star team (prior to the Nash injury), it doesn't look good for them this season.

i'm going to extend this to the Browns situation. either you fully believe in your HC or you don't. if Lakers management didn't fully believe in Mike Brown this past offseason (obviously they did not), then they should have fired him then.

Cavaliers center Anderson Varejao sat out Wednesday's game against Golden State with "soreness" in his knee, but is expected to make his return Friday night vs. Phoenix according to the Akron Beacon-Journal. But now the Cavs have another problem, as rookie wingman Dion Waiters suffered a deep thigh bruise Wednesday and is questionable Friday night.

Tyler Zeller, who suffered a fractured cheekbone and a concussion this week, could return to the court Friday, but the Beacon-Journal reports Sunday is more likely. If a guy has a concussion, only missing one game is sometimes pretty dicey. You have to imagine he'll be fitted with a mask too, to protect the cheekbone.

Phoenix is a good test for the Cavaliers, a team in their tier that has struggles on both sides of the ball. Like the Cavs, Phoenix has won two games, but like the Cavs it's difficult to see if those are outliers or if the losses are more indicative of the situation.

Getting Varejao back is huge, as he's obviously the team's second-best player. Waiters has been a bit of a rollercoaster, hitting huge shots from time to time and then putting in inefficient performances. The Beacon-Journal reports he couldn't put weight on the leg, the bruise was so bad, so don't expect to see him vs. the Suns.

I want good savvy vets added to our bench next offseason. I don't want to have a bunch of young guys there.

Some of our young bench guys are turning into vets.

Samuels is a solid 4th option in the post. Gee and/or Miles are solid bench types. I would like to see up upgrade Sloan. Gibson is an OK backup ......and he can score and play the point a bit, and that's valuable. Zellers looks like he has a future.

We have guys like Harangody, Pargo, (is he still on the team?) and Casspi who are rarely on the floor. Leuer got some time the other game, but wasn't very impressive. Those 5 spots can be upgraded, but none of them are our upper level guys who see the court all that much.

Our top guys are going to be Irving, Waiters, Andy, Thompson, Gee, Gibson, Zellers, Miles, Gibson, and Samuels. 2 of those guys are rooks, Irving and Thompson are 2nd year guys, Samuels is in his 3rd year.Gee is a 4th year guy. Miles is a veteran, as is Gibson. That's a pretty nice mix. The guys that rarely play can either be older guys, young guys to develop, or a mix. We have Walton on the bench ..... though I wish he wasn't.

I like what the front office is doing with this team. We could have 2 or 3 1st round picks this coming year .... so we have some assets to work with if we do want to add a veteran.

I think that Thompson might develop into a quality big. He's still very young.

Gee is a former D league player. He has outplayed his status, yet that doesn't mean that we can't find a better starter.
