Edit: Even Moore gone too.

As I said on another thread, Evan Moore was always puzzling for me. Over two regimes, he just couldn't get on the field, even when healthy.

He had great hands, but, like others have said, the injury problem is a big one. I also wonder (though there has never been any suggestion of this) if he had some attitude problems or something that made the coaches sour on him.

In any event, best of luck to the guy.

Who is the final say on cuts? Is it Shurmur? Heckert? Holmgren?

Technically, Holmgren could trump anyone, I'd guess.... but, aside from that sort of action, I think Heckert has final say.

I never really consider him a TE... but guess he could play there some... in a pinch... though don't see it much.

Yes...he does.

Right up until Holmgren decides otherwise. That's been part of the problem here.

How often do you think Holmgren is trumping Heckert?

this time period sucks because people that we care about are getting cut, but the names are not big enough for reputable sources to write articles about, so we can't post them on here...

david sims also cut

Same article says that we cut Gronkowski too.

Probably means that Smelley makes the team.

Considering Evan Moore is also gone, I think Smelley is safe.

yeah - with Smelley being the lead blocker for Trich and having the ability to flex to TE some I think it makes him valuable.. don't know how much upside he haves, but I like having a TE/FB with the name SMELLEY!!!

Yep.We need to cut 22 to reach the 53 man roster.

We know that the following are gone:

Wallace
Moore
Gronkowski
Sims (Damn)

I am hoping that my original UDFA longshot to make the team, Johnson Bademosi, winds up making it. I think that he's in good shape.

He is very short. He's only 5'9", and I suspect that came into play.

Maybe he makes the practice squad. Who knows?

He's not better than McCoy, but he is 10 years older, so it makes perfect sense ...

Will questionable CB depth, I'd grab Hanson off that list.

Wasn;t Marvin McNutt a mid round pick for them? Thats a little surprising.

j/k

How many are we allowed to keep on the practice squad. Didnt the number increase with the new collective bargining contract.

Hopefully players like Sims will be reclaimed & placed on the practice squad.

LJ Fort evidently had a new number. (58) Probably a good sign that he's made the team.

I believe he was the 194th pick, which would have been in the 6th round.

Sure are starting w/ some of the "bigger" names. Guess they're thinking they have the best shot at being picked up elsewhere . . .

Yeah, I'm pretty surprised about Sims as well . . .

The Washington Redskins have released QB Jonathan Crompton, RB Tristan Davis, WR Terrence Austin, C Erik Cook, C Grant Garner, OT Tom Compton, OT Willie Smith, DE Doug Worthington, DT Marlon Favorite, DT Delvin Johnson, LB D.J. OT Compton was their 6th rounder, another candidate for our last OL spots. OLB Kehl was a backup in STL in 2010 when Shurmur was OC

Also, Rams just cut FB O.Mughelli....
