PFT has posted that the lions cut CB Alphonso Smith. He'd be someone for the brass to put some thought into.

no real surprises from Texans... also cut Kennum who will likely go to PS.... probably nicest story from their pre-season was Holliday making the 53 man roster... kid is scary fast! Had a TD last night right in front me!

Anyone find any reliable sources on J. Cooper?? I'm still thinking he makes the practice squad vs the 53... can't imagine he'd make the 53...

OL Amini Silatolu bares repeating.
This guy was selected #40 this draft. 3 slots after Schwartz. He was the #3 ranked guard on many sites.
I have no idea why the panthers would cut him. But he has no chance of making their practice squad.
There is a good chance it is just a mistaken report.
If not I hope we take a flyer on him.

Or he could be so horrible that even though he was drafted in the second round he had to be cut.
Usually if a player is drafted in the 2nd round they are safe on that alone for a few years.

Sort of surprised Even Moore got cut.

Yes .... and no.
He can't block. He's a solid receiver, but I really think that he got caught up in the numbers.

It's on NFL.com.
Of course, they had an OT released by both the Jets and the Giants.
Talk about a bad day.

Good point, and I think the blocking thing is probably the deciding factor. I still would like to have seen him used more on the seem routes at about 12/18 yds, but I'll trust the powers that be. I think he may get another shot somewhere else.

And he's always hurt.
It seems like Jordan Cameron is at least willing to attempt to block.
Moore was essentially a wide receiver with little speed and was always hurt.

I liked him, but he could never stay healthy. And that probably has as much to do with his release as anything.

Gipson is NOT one of the one's cut. He will be part of the 53.
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

One of us needs to update their cookies because he's not showing up on my comp...
and I know Twitter is not allowed but he wishes his teammates who were cut good luck... so my guess is still that someone at NFL.com messed up.
Edit: even clicking on your link steve I don't see his name listed...

Gipson looks like a player. I hope that Bademosi makes the team too.

None of the Panthers fans believe it. Amini did have something to say on twitter but I am not allowed to post it.

If there is a God, they'll sign this guy: Indianapolis Colts - LB Tim Fugger
Just so I can buy the jersey.
Even if he gets cut, the jersey would be awesome from now until the end of time.

Yeah, I really wanted McNutt too. I'm stunned that he was let go.
Brian Schaefering has joined the list of former Browns according to Mary Kay Cabot.

I feel like Schaefering is the type of guy crappy teams have to fill roster spots. He is not spectacular, but will do his job and not be bad.
I see it as a good thing that we don't need guys like that anymore.

Browns waived or released WR Josh Cooper, DT Brian Schaefering, S David Sims, CB James Dockery, WR Rod Windsor, G Jarrod Shaw, DL William Green, DL Ronnie Cameron and LB Ben Jacobs. Cooper was competing with Jordan Norwood for slot duties. Per beat writer Mary Kay Cabot, the Browns hope to stash Cooper on the practice squad. A three-year veteran, Schaefering appeared in all 16 gamest last season as a rotational lineman. http://www.rotoworld.com/playernews/nfl/football
