My bike is a Redline 925 single-speed commuter. Sugino cranks, chainring and cog, Nitto bars, Velocity rims, Selle Italia saddle. Light, comfy and gets me where I want to go.

Can't post a picture of it for whatever reason.

I ride about a hundred miles a week and probably have a nicer bike than I need.

Trek Madone 2011 5.9

Now it has gatorskins, black tape, and an iPod mount.

You guys are confusing me... posting biking stuff on the browns board..

Yikes .... *jealous*

Do you ride with any bike clubs around here? I need to get back into this stuff again. I used to race a bit until my knees went to crap.

I have to hunt around and see if I have any pics of my bike without me on it.

Well since nobody else is posting pictures of their ACTUAL bike ...

Notice the inclusion of pedals.

My bike doesn't really look like this anymore. The seat, grips and tires are all black now, and I swapped out most of the components with Ultegra components.

I don't have a pic of my bike, but this is a stock picture from Trek...except mine actually has pedals, a different saddle, bottle cages, and a computer.

So we can expect more posts from you now?

I keep reading that, and it keeps not making any sense to me at all
VERY nice bike! If/when I get a regular Road bike, the Madone will almost certainly be what I get.

Y'all sure have fancy stuff there.

I have hanging in my garage an old 1974 Free Spirit 10 speed.

Nothing fancy on it but it does have pedals.

Current bike. (only picture I could find on net that looks pretty much just like it minus the aerobars).

Not mine yet but in little over a month. Friend at a shop is going to start clearing out this years stock and said they had a glut of Felt B2's. So assuming there isn't a run on them he'll give me 20% off.

Ah, the good old days when bikes came with pedals!

Actually, there is a big following for the vintage stuff....and some of those bikes are sweet! I wish I would've hung on to a couple of my old bikes. They were nothing special, but it would just be cool to have them.

The hipster quarters of Brooklyn are where vintage bikes go be reborn. I was in dumbo 2 nights ago and marveling that aside from the occasional new fixie the average age of the bikes I was seeing was like 30yrs. Friend I was sitting with pulled this up on his phone which I thought was very funny...

Many of these bikes make my back hurt just looking at them.

Not really part of a bike club, normally I ride with a friend or my fiancee. I am a Clyde as far as bikers go, but I wanted a reliable ride....

I ride the PCH and the trail in Oceanside, which should have an engraved lane for how many times I have been down the thing.

My back used to hurt before I started riding... I have not had a problem since I started 4 years ago. Strengthening the legs and... err... backside has made the back better.

My back and legs were strong when my back started hurting. It just kept getting worse as time went on till I wound up the wreck I am now.

Great rides. I love the ride from Carsbad, down into La Jolla ... Wait, I mean to Del Mar. Torrey Pines sucks!

Do they still have the trail the Pendleton blocked off? One of my favorite rides is along the trail they have from Pendleton up into San Juan Capistrano.

Everything they have inland is all hills. The H-56 bikepath is nice, but it has some pretty rough climbs in there. I'd rather be out on the coast.

Just dug this out of the shed today. Same color and everything. Cleaned her up jumped on, brakes and shifters working beautifully. Got onto the road and the chain snapped. I guess I can't complain, bought it new in '92 and haven't ridden it since we moved here in '93. Now if the computer works, I'll be a happy camper. I also have a Schwinn road bike (Worldsport?) from that era to fix up.

Nice that you drug it out of storage! Did you test your computer? Sometimes batteries stored that long aren't kind to electronics.

Yeah, chains that old don't hold up very well. Fortunately, that's an inexpensive fix and you can be back to riding in no time

My bike

I've been big into riding my single speed as of late. I ever went on a ride yesterday up into the berkeley hills, about 4 miles of climbing. Pretty brutal on a single speed but worth it.

Without pedals or brakes you'd have to start off pushing it.

Glad to hear you're motivated!

And, Andra...a fixie! How cool. I've noticed I don't change gears much....nah, I'll keep my gears for now.

Give it a whirl. Fixed gears are pretty fun once you get used to the feeling.

Well, the computer works, but the rear tire was flat this morning. I spent the day between Youtube for directions and fixing up the bike. I replaced the chain and put in new innertubes, adjusted the brakes and lubed it up. I've still got some adjusting to do on the derailleurs...it's not hitting all of the gears yet. After I pack the bearings, replace the cables and clean up a little rust it should be like new. I felt like a kid playing with a new toy!
