One good thing about our defense is that it is a fairly simple defense for players to learn. The LBs don't have to learn thousand word plays like under Ryan. The responsibilities are far simpler.

It should be far more "plug and play" than a defense like Rob Ryan's was.

Micah 6:8; He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.

John 14:19 Jesus said: Because I live, you also will live.

When Jimmy was in the booth with Bernie ... he made mention of the speed that saw with our LBer position.

Just goes to show you what a difference a year can make.

No way does he make that comment last year.

Fort looks like he is a decisive LBer (not a lot of false steps) and looks to have some pretty quick wheels too.

We all had concerns with this group even before we lost Gocong for the season, but your right after watching these young LBers in preseason ... I think that by the end of this season we will have a nice group in place going forward.

Sort of an unanticipated surprise.

There is still a big jump as far as responsibilities for the position from College.

Coverages are where they normally have their biggest learning curve.

Heckert has that "reputation" for not placing great value on the LBers...supposedly believing that good LBers can be found most anywhere.

It appears that we have some solid DTs who should make the LBers jobs easier...and that we clearly thought we needed to upgrade our speed at the position.

Let's just hope they speed to the right places.

I pretty much agree with that philosophy ... unless he's a freak like a Von Miller.

LBers = The Running game.

Many will only play in base defenses.

Thus that lowers their value overall.
