Not that I was going to vote for him, but I am now going to do whatever I can to see him defeated. A 20 year anniversary can not be rescheduled, debates can. I think anyone that does not put family first is without character.

The other side of that is, IF he would've requested a different day for this debate, he'd be labeled as well - an "elitist", or some other term.

Hey, my wife and I have an anniversary - 16 years - Oct. 19th. Our "celebration" is going to the Browns bungals game on the 14th. (going on the 13th, spend the night)

Sure, on the 19th we'll go out to eat - except, on the 19th, there's a home football game (high school). And that happens to be the second time this year we will be hosting 4 other couples and their kids for the "after game" party. We'll have 4 of my daughter's friends (daughters of the couples that come over) spend the night...it's just tradition for the 10 adults - home game - someone entertains after the game, and the kids stay over............so I guess we won't be going out "on" our anniversary.

It's not that big of a deal - even a dyed in the wool conservative does that kind of thing (me).

This is a 2 weekend celebration of your anniversary. That's 2 beers I owe you now.

The problem is c-dawg, is that his campaign (and by extension Obama himself) agreed to debate on this date.

No, the problem is that he has been campaigning 365 days a year since two years before he got elected, it only stands to reason that one of those days every year is going to be his anniversary.

Campaigning is one thing, agreeing to hold a presidential debate on your anniversary is quite another.

I like to find the humor in these things... and the humor I see is that if word got out that he rescheduled a debate so he could spend the evening with his wife for their anniversary... a lot of people (in fact a lot of the same people) would have just as big a problem with it... "We're in debt, he can spend any other evening with his wife, he's afraid..."
