I am looking at Florida, and Santa Rosa county, which is a strong Republican county, has reported 0% of their vote so far. They have something like 150,000 citizens, and a ton of early voting. Also Okaloosa County is in the same boat. They still have people voting.

Definitely exciting there in Florida. Weird that Santa Rosa has released no results. Wonder if they're holding back for publicity/tourism attention.

They suspended reporting until the rest of the people in line have voted. Same with Okaloosa County.

People in line in Dade and Broward until about 11:30.
Obama's campaign are guessing that there are still about 1 million votes that need to be counted in Broward and Dade county.

I think the problem with Romney is that - so far - he has not won anything that would be a good indicator for him. With Florida and Ohio leaning blue, it may be game over by midnight.

Democrats picking up Senate seats - McCaskill (MO), Sherrod Brown, Manchin (WV) and King (ME) although he is independent, he is likely to caucus with the Ds.

Gonna be tomorrow, at best, before we know what is likely to be the outcome.
Romney is down to one path to victory at this point. He has to win Florida, North Carolina, Virginia, Ohio, Missouri, Colorado, and New Mexico.
Romney will win Alaska,l but I don't know that this state will be a factor in the final tally.
Romney currently leads the popular vote by 50.4% to 48.3%.

The big albatross of the popular vote - California - is yet to count. If 2008 is any indicator, Obama will be +3 million with California, so Romney's popular vote lead will come to a close. My prediction for this election seems pretty spot on - however - I predicted VA for Obama (it's a toss-up right now) and Florida for Romney (which seems to be leaning more and more Obama).
I agree with you about the one path to victory for Romney, but that climb is an incredibly steep one that just does not make sense logically since states do not vote in a vacuum.

Florida is kinda stuck at 87% reporting on the Huffington Post page. That's probably because of the late voting.
I can see this being a huge mess. Ohio has, IIRC, and last I heard, some 30,000 provisional ballots .... so if the race is within that margin, we would have to wait for those ballots to be verified and counted ...... then if the final vote after that is within 0.25%, there is an automatic recount of everything. Ugh.

New Mexico just called for Obama. No surprise there.

I will say that Dick Morris (and me) was really wrong on many of these states.
Trends are not good for Romney. He needs almost a clean sweep of what's left to contest in order to win.

Which already pretty much tells us "what is likely to be the outcome."
Not trying to be facitious but it seems that by most accounts, most everyone was fairly accurate with the acception of one major news news network.
I go through several and figure that somewhere in the middle lies the truth. Using one source as gospel usually will skew peoples views.......
It's pretty much a done deal accept for the margin of victory. I'm just glad it won't take forever to decide this. I've had enough for one election........ We will know in a few hours or less........

Fox down here is reporting that the numbers are very close for Florida. But it's not looking very close nationally. The lead anchor just said something about if Obama gets Ohio it's over as that would put him at 270.
That's assuming the left coast still votes like normal.
They haven't called VA, OH, FL, or NC on my Fox channel or NBC channel.

Well, when polls oversample Democrats by that much ..... and when they have Independents and Women breaking back to Romney, yet the poll numbers remain almost exactly what they were before, it made little sense that Romney wouldn't make gains.
I dunno.
Man, this country seems to be turning into a "gimme more" country. That's basically what Obama ran on ..... "Here, I'll give you this, and you folks that .... and you people over there this other thing ......." I just have a feeling that we are going to see an end to full time employment for people in most restaurants and retail store chains, because of the Obamacare requirements ...... and I have no idea how we are going to cover everyone like Obama says, with still ever increasing costs, and not blow the deficit to hell.
Oh well, like I have said all along .... I'm not a young kid, and I don't have kids, so if the country implodes, it won't destroy me, and I don't have kids to worry about.

Well, perhaps someone can explain it better than I can, but the built in bias of polls reflects the actual demographics of voters. The polls showed that this would happen. The only exceptions seem to be Florida (which only started polling blue recently) and Virginia (still in the air). The polls are accurate for the most part. I mentioned earlier, the people picking Romney to win were doing so because of their bias, not because of an analytical approach. But hey, at least the campaign season is over and the draft is not too far away lol.

There's a difference in "giving more" and "taking away what little people have".
Do you reaise how many elderly people are in nursing homes that depend on medicaid to cover the difference in their bills?
I haven't heard Obama promise to give anyone "more" of anything. But he has promised not to cut essential programs that disabled people and the elderly need just as much as the poor do.
Big difference. Spend 2 trillion more on the military and cut basic services? It seems people reject such notions.......

My biggest single shock of the election is that Elizabeth Warren ...... who is a nutjob who lied about her heritage for personal and professional gain ...and who has no political experience, beat Scott Brown, who is about as close to being a Democrat as any Republican could be,
The Republicans might as well not even bother running any statewide candidates in Mass. if a guy like Scott Brown can lose to a whacko like Warren.

Romney made some serious mistakes near the end. Foreign policy debate, he was shredded. Hurricane Sandy, he vanished right after the getting his ass handed to him in the debate. The jeep scandal, 47% comments, Portfolio full of women comments, it was just a really bad end of the campaign right when he had built up a ton of momentum after shredding Obama in the first debate.

This country is stupid. We had 2 bad candidates, and we took the one we know has been a failure. Really bright.
I can't wait to hear what the excuses for a $20 trillion deficit will be in 3 or so years.

Romney "was" a moderate until he got the GOP nomination. Then the metamorphasis began. Just like with McCain...... When ya think you know a guy, he changes into someone else.
And it is too bad this nation is so divided. But if the GOP learns one thing from this....... that you can't use sterotypes and fear to win elections...... maybe in the end it will all be worth it.
You can't stand up against our teachers, firefighters, nurses and and police officers, try to take away their bargaining rights......... Then turn around and claim to be "standing up for the middle class".
The double talk is over and if they realise that, correct that and move forward, there will be hope for a lot more people. Until then, they have made their own grave.....

The only way to win the Republican nomination is to pander to the right wing and when you do, you pay for it. Romney should have carried the middle but he just burried himself with the right.
