I'm not upset that we used a 3rd round pick on McCoy. At the time he looked like a good value pick at that spot.
Nobody should be. We got a player that initially showed some promise, was serviceable as a starter for a couple of seasons, and who is at worst a very good backup. Not too shabby for a 3rd round pick. He is exactly what a 3rd round QB should be.
Browns is the Browns
... there goes Joe Thomas, the best there ever was in this game.

I am kinda ticked off that Holmgren overruled Heckert on a pick. I don't feel that should have ever been his role.
I still though to this day laugh from that presser. Mike H: I asked can I finally have my QB? Eric M: Can he play Guard?
Still hard to believe how bad of shape we were back then compared to how much has been done to this point media and complainers be darned they put a plan in place and stuck to their guns. They knew it was going to be hard yet didnt shy away from doing what needed to be done. Not everything was going to be perfect nothing ever is but they did what they had set out to do and now its up the new people in charge to either muck it back up or take the baton and carry it forward down the correct path of true building and not just appease a few fans and talking heads to get some short lived glory and praise while the team spirals back into having to start over.
We have our Ozzie Newsome at GM, if they get rid of him over ego and power plays Im going to really be dissapointed and question what they were thinking.
If you need 3 years to be a winner you got here 2 years to early. Get it done Browns.
