The game is awful. Florida State is obviously the superior team. No one ever said Northern Illinois was a bad mac team, but they are nowhere close to the team of a Florida State, Oklahoma, or even Clemson for that matter. It was never about hating on the mac, has it was who was deserving to be in the game.

I'm interested to see how they match up - still think there were more deserving teams...
UNI was more deserving than Louisville, so take that up when the Sugar is on.

#14 in BCS. FSU is #12.
I just don't get the "deserving" status. They did what they had to do and were ranked better than Louisville who is also in a BCS game.

Whelp, that's the game. NIUs QB suffered Brandon Weeden disease tonight and a MAC defense tried to be a defense. Those two combinations are a recipe which gives the outcome of tonight.

Just from a talent level alone, the game wasn't even close. I'm a fan of the game, and the bcs should be embarrassed for putting a matchup like that on such a premiere bowl game. I've never said Louisville and Florida was a good matchup as well.

On a positive note that field looks great. I don't think I've ever seen a better looking natural grass field.
.
Believe it or not that was the first thing I noticed when I turned on the game last night. It also popped in my head 2 or 3 more times during the game.

It was hard to not have it pop into your head when the announcers compared the field to Augusta putting greens about 3 times.

I have not got into the bowl season much at all. I also haven't gambled on any of these games either.
I am excited about Notre Dame and Alabama.
College football this year as a whole kind of soured me, on top of all the Ohio State stuff, there were some really crappy early season out of conference matchups and a lot of this season was so predictable.
Although I have to admit it was awesome checking out the ESPN Gameday scene in person. They were there when I saw Standford/ND, and Notre Dame's gameday experience has always been meh, but having that entire circus there made the atmopshere pretty wild. It was like they felt the need to actually be into it because of Gameday being there.

Bridgewater looks like a solid spread offense QB. Can run, and makes good solid throws/decisions. If we decide on Kelly as coach, this is a guy we may want to target at the QB position.

This kid looks damn impressive. He can run, but what I really like about him are the little moves he makes in the pocket to buy himself time. He really stands tall in there too.
Proud fan of the Pulaski Academy football strategy.

Quite a game last night. Everybody expected a blow out and it basically was one... by LOUISVILLE! Bridgewater is an impressive young man. The dude is unflappable. Florida played like a bunch of undisciplined punks all night. It was fun watching them come unglued and just get beat like a rented mule by a team that was well-prepared, disciplined and wanted it more.

Interesting 'Stat of the Day' on the Dan Patrick show today...
For the year (regular and bowl season) the ACC is 4-0 vs the SEC.
SEC, overrated?
Louisville did look good last night. Bridgewater and Taj Boyd have been the two most impressive QB's to me this bowl season.
Statistics are like a bikini; what they show is interesting, but what they hide is vital. Drive for show (1st round), Putt for dough (rest of draft).

That's not possible.. Florida beat Florida State and South Carolina beat Clemson in the regular season..

My bad... typed that while talking to someone about the ACC, meant Big East. The Big East is 4-0 vs the SEC. Again, my oops was distracted while typing.

Agreed
Florida was more interested in smack talking and got smacked in the mouth.
Also today way our 10th anniversary of the championship

Yeah... Elam seems like more of a SS than a FS, however. I only have the Louisville game to go on, so maybe he's better in coverage than he showed last night (he wasn't good). He's a hard hitter, but, as Spielman pointed out, he's going to have to improve his tackling technique to be good in the NFL.

He does tend to go for the TJ Ward/shoulder tackle more than I'd like, but he's really fast and tough and had 4 picks this year after two last year.

Matt Elam can ball. His brother was decent in college but Matt is a lot better. Not much needs to be said about why we should watch the Oregon game tonight

I agree. We did way too much talking and not enough playing the game.
We lucked in to a few wins this year and it caught up to us last night even if I do feel we are a better team than Louisville.....but you have to prove it.
I am not totally sold on Muschamp. This year we over achieved. Nobody expected this in year two. Next year is the year we are going to be good.....in theory.
Now I am concerned that if we couldn't get up for a Sugar Bowl game against a team who we should have cleaned their clock, I am not all that encouraged today.
For now, I'll take the glass half full attitude and hope this is a kick in the butt and a lesson learned.
Win it all next year. For now, Roll Tide.
I agree with Steve...Matt Elam would look good in a Browns uniform.

So how's our (possible) new Head Coach gonna do tonight? Should be a fun Fiesta Bowl between the Ducks and the Wildcats.

granted, he probably won't be able to do that in the NFL, but in this bowl game if he thinks his chance to convert is >50%, why not??

This dude has run this Offense forever, and it won't fly in the NFL. Even if he wants to adapt, it's completely new for him and learning on the job. I wouldn't even want a Coord with this backgrounnd even less a HC
Not long ago posters didn't want any more College coaches because the bust % was incredibly high, now all want Kelly. Be careful what you wish for, as both TRich and Weeden would be wasted picks in this kind of Offense, and many other talented players too
The "creative style" hype is not convincing me one bit, as he simply lacks NFL level CONTENT, but he would be a fitting hire from J&J....all hype, little substance.
I'd rather have Whisenhunt, who would do magic with the upgrades he'd get with the Browns....better QB, RB and above all: OL.

Beautiful voice of reason. Whats the over under on how many bubble screens outside to the sprinters will we see tonight? How many of those work this consistently in the NFL?

If you think he is bringing this scheme with him to the NFL, then we have nothing left to discuss.
But this isnt the thread for this.
you had a good run Hank.
