We have seen the defense really step up to slow down the opposition's run game tremendously. Our run game has picked up some. We are starting to get some of those tough yards. It's not perfect yet .... but it's improving.

Not trying to nitpick here YTown, but looking at the stats you provided, it doesn't seem our running game is "picking up". Those stats actually show a steady decline in run yards over the past four games.

Those are just the leading rushers in each game. What it means, from a defensive standpoint, is that we aren't allowing those huge runs like we used to.

On the defensive side of the ball there is no doubt we have done a better job against the run as of late.

Jamaal Charles and Washington with RG3 will be the biggest future threats I see in that department.

This Lombardi talk is so discouraging.....

Pluto is right. If you compare Heckert's body of work against what we know about Lombardi- well, it's just no comparison.

I really hope this team keeps winning. Because, in the end, it just might be the only thing that saves some jobs!! Whatever happened to the five year plan anyways.... that's what we were told would happen by Holmgren, and now we are hearing the same rhetoric from Haslam. And if he really feels the team is "close"- then why screw it up now????????????

They are going to sell Lombardi by saying "its decision by committee".

They will down play his power.

LOL - The Rish will be upset with this news as well. KS just doesn't prioritize winning...

Because he and Banner don't want to be known as the guys that bought a team that won something.

They want to be credited with building the team that wins...

And if that means setting us a year or two back, by changing coaches/FO*, systems, and a few players**... Well then that'll be worth it...

As long as it's their guy holding up the trophy...

* - IMO Shurmur and Heckert are gone. Barring us finishing 8-8 and blowing out the Steelers in Pittsburgh. Even then I STILL think Heckert would be gone.

** - I also think there's a great chance Weeden may be overtaken, they won't just out right get rid of him. But Weeden is the main key link to Heckert, I don't think (again this is my opinion on the situation) Banner wants a Heckert guy holding a SB MVP Trophy. Because then, everyone would credit Heckert...

Banner has a proven track record of success.

Doing what,, Counting the beans, signing players, negotiating contracts?

If that's what your talking about, I guess so.. But we really don't have an issue with any of that. Our system of counting the beans, signing players and dealing with the contracts wasn't the problem here.'
