Thank god some of the people making these uniform suggestions aren't in charge of the real thing! I do like a few, but some are downright ugly!

Love this helmet...but I agree...should not really mess with the helmet.

I'd walk a mile on my hands to see that on our players for only one game. AWESOME!

I'd run 100 miles the OTHER way if I showed up to a game and saw that helmet!

Maybe it's the shade of brown, but I look at those and see Va Tech...

I thought the same thing.

I'm not opposed to jazzing the unis up some, but I still love an all white look, and I hate a dark on dark look. I like contrast (white pants, dark top/dark pants white/lighter top)

I loved these 1984 uniforms. Initially, the jersey had orange numbers and letters, but were unable to be seen from the press box during night games.

Here are the ones they changed the orange to:

As long as the new cheerleader uniforms work with the new football uniforms, I don't really care.

That should definitely be the organization's main concern as the team heads into the future!

When they show me they can win, I'll warm up to changes. Don't sell me a bill of goods when you've proven nothing so far.

People seem to be eating up the marketing without any proof this regime can do anything else but market.

Win first then we'll talk.....

Will it feel any better losing in shiny new uniforms? I don't think so...

Lets try it another way...

Will it feel better winning in shiny new uniforms ? Damn right it will.....

For one...in order to win...you have to get rid of the losing side of thinking....Start fresh with this regime and think we can win....very simple actually.....

It seems you miss a lot of what Haslam has to say....He wants a winning team before a new stadium...He's not trying to market our pocket books....He's getting rid of the stale air and bringing in some fresh air.....

Now you can hold in the stale air thats been around here since " 99 " or you can take a new breath of fresh air...

I agree with Pit on this one. I don't for one minute think that changing uniforms is going to change the culture around here. It's about the players in the uniforms. Hopefully the marketing ideas we're seeing will go hand in hand with the revolutionary concept of the Browns playing consistent winning football for the first time since I was a teenager - when you'd actually see stuff like this on magazine covers:

Yeah, you gotta feel pretty stupid getting all decked out in sweet uni's with metallic bad ass helmets, and then go out and lose by 3 touchdowns to the steelers. I'm just sayin.

I dunno DC... Being a Maryland fan, you have some experience with this. How DOES it feel to still stink even with shiny new unis?

I don't know how I feel about this. But then again, I haven't seen any examples of what they might look like. Once I see those, then the decision to like or dislike will be easy.

Actually MD beat Miami the first time they broke out the shiny new unis... then last year they were playing pretty good until their first, second, third, fourth and fifth string QBs got hurt in the course of 2 weeks.

But to answer your question, losing feels no better or worse depending on what you are wearing... but it created a buzz, it generated interest, the players seemed to really like it.. recruiting is up... I have no idea how much of this is the new unis, how much is the new coach, etc...

I had heard they were exploring a Bronze(ish) brown pant with orange jersey.
Kind of Tampa bay looking. although I think those are pewter colored.

Really digging the second set and the logo. The uniforms need a little more orange incorporated in them though.

As long as they make the orange a darker, richer orange .... then I'd be good with that. I'm not a big fan of the bright, almost gaudy, current orange. Maybe the 1980 color, or even a shade or 2 darker would be good with me.

Keep the helmets the same.

I would like the unis to be like a dark tan, with brown numbers and letters for the names; a brown verticle strip down the sides and down the sleeves. Get rid of the horizontal stripes on the sleeves. Or have brown sleeves with an orange verticle stripe to go with the browns verticle stripe down the side of the jersey and pants.

The pants can have a matching brown verticle stripe down the side and also be dark tan, white, brown, or orange would all match the jersey.

A dark tan I think would be a nice new color to add in place of the white and I would like a verticle stripe on the sleeves instead of the horizontal ones. Im getting bored with the horizontal stripes on the sleeves. Which is the only design on the last few jerseys. Go with a slim verticle stripe or stripes.

Here's a few ideas I had for a new uniform. The first two use are my attempt at a darker orange, but those ones look a little too dark. I do kinda dig the diamonds down the side though.

A lot of the ideas I've seen so far look to similar to what we already have. If we're going to get new uniforms, we might as well shake them up a bit!

Edit: Also, the socks for these would need some brown and orange stripes!

That B logo, that looks a tiny bit simialr to an air force logo, is too gigantic in those.
Imagine those with regular numbers and that B logo on the collar under the chin about the area of where a bow tie would be.

Most any logo, if small and in that area wouldn't be so intrusive.
for instance, a bulldog wearing a collar. a CB logo, the Brownie elf, or whatever.

Can Deshaun Watson play better for the Browns, than Baker Mayfield would have? ... Now the Games count.

Anyone else read the Uni Watch Blog? Anyway, the site is having a contest to create a new Browns uniform

Quote:

One of the NFL's most classic-looking teams -- or its most boring-looking team, depending on your point of view -- is headed for a face-lift.

That's the word out of Cleveland, where Browns owner Jimmy Haslam has announced that the team will be getting new uniforms for 2014. Haslam says the team's helmets won't be changed, but everything else is presumably fair game.

Naturally, we can't trust the Browns, the NFL or Nike to do this job correctly, so the task falls to you: Fire up your digital design software -- or break out your pack of magic markers, as the case might be -- and come up with a new uniform set for the Browns.

The rules are simple:

• Your entry must include a primary logo, a dark-jersey uniform and a white-jersey uniform. (If you like, you can also include secondary logos and one alternate uniform, but those aren't required.)

• Your uniform designs must include the team's current helmet, since that won't be changing. Sorry.

• Your designs can be created in any digital or analog medium (Illustrator, Photoshop, crayon, whatever) and can be submitted in any standard digital format (JPG, PDF, tiff, etc.).

• Please include your name and email address somewhere on the image file, like this. Also, your file names should include your last name (examples: Lukas.jpg, Lukas-home.pdf, etc.).

• Email your entry here. If you have more than one concept, feel free to enter as many times as you like.

• Deadline: Thursday, Jan. 31, noon ET.

The winning entries will be showcased in a future Uni Watch column. OK? OK! Now get crackin'.

The PD just put up part 2 of fan uniform designs.

I actually kinda like the first set.

I like the second set better but I'm not crazy about the Brown/Brown one with the number on the helmet unless that is our new "special" one that we only wear once a year..

The first sets not bad but there isn't any orange in it...

I brought up stripes all the way down the side earlier in the thread, and I like it even more now that I can see it.

Maybe make the pants orange on the brown jersey uniform ...... that might look incredible.

Of all of those, I'd say the first set is the best - I really like the white uni, the brown one needs work IMO.

And I also like the idea of the elf somewhere on the back of the helmet... just a small sticker at first, something to introduce the elf to the world.

Remember when Haslam bought the team he said Randy gave him four conditions.
I bet one was no logo on the helmet.

Off the submitted uniforms I like the 1st ones on the 1st page.

I also like the idea of the Elf on the back of the helmet but much smaller than the one shown. I would have it small enough to fit on the white stripe and not exceed the width of that stripe.
