my MLB predictions:

AL East: Tampa
AL Central: Detroit (100+ wins - best record in MLB)
AL West: Anaheim

Wildcard1: Texas
Wildcard2: Chicago White Sox

NL East: Atlanta
NL Central: Cincinatti
NL West: San Francisco

Wildcard1: Washington
Wildcard2: Milwaukee (as the fluke team this year)

World Series: Detroit over Atlanta

I have been a SF Giants fan all my life, since the Mays McCovey and Marichal days, and beings we are the defending World Series Champs (2 out of 3 years) and having the best pitching staff in MLB, I would not sell them short of winning another WS Title ... JMHO

I'm taking Strasburg, Gonzalez, Zimmermann, Detweiler, Haren, Soriano, Clippard, and Storen over Cain, Baumgartner, Lincecum, Zito, Vogelsong, Romo, Casilla, and Affeldt.

I will play the role of Mrs. Punchsmack within this post (letting my homerism shine through)

My MLB predictions:

AL East: Baltimore
AL Central: Detroit
AL West: L.A. Angels

Wildcard1: Tampa
Wildcard2: Cleveland

NL East: Washington
NL Central: St. Louis
NL West: Los Angeles

Wildcard1: San Francisco
Wildcard2: Atlanta

World Series: St. Louis over L.A. Angels

If I'm honest with myself, I think an AL West team would be in the Tribe's place on my predictions.

I think the NL Central teams will struggle to find wins without having Houston around to dominate. Sorry Cincy.

I always vote St. Louis to win until they're out. I could only wish the Indians could be like the Cards.

actually, it's MLB and it's pretty random once you get to October. so, you have won 2 out of 3 years, that's as good of a reason as any to guess you won't this year

no, I really don't care about the Giants. I was glad to see them deny Detroit though.

Yu Darvish has a perfect game through eight innings. He also has 14 strikeouts on only 107 pitches (so far).

I don't know about other cable/satellite providers, but DirecTV has a free preview of MLB Extra Innings right now. The Rangers game is on channel 725.

J/C...

Since this board is in segregated lockdown mode where you can only talk about one team, am I allowed to say something about my team here?

The Pirates offense is an abomination. That is all.

GO BUCS.

The Indians, with being shut out 2 games in a row, aren't far off from abomination status.

It's still early though.

Since its a Cleveland Browns MB, its not too surprising that the bulk of the posters are either Indians or Reds fans, and I don't see why they shouldn't have a place to talk exclusively about their teams. Its not intended to censor you in any way. Besides your Pirates, there's Yankee, Red Sox, Tigers, Cubs, Nationals fans, and others here that would probably like to have a place to post articles and opinions, so I don't see why there couldn't be a MLB (non-Ohio) thread. Plus that thread would likely end up being the home for All-Star game, trade, playoff, and WS discussions (since I doubt the Indians get there).

Sorry ..... I was merely commiserating with your MLB plight. It wouldn't have made sense if I would have posted that response in another thread.

lol, it's cool - just attempting to prove a point.

Honestly though, watching a Pirates game right now - even as hardcore as I am about them - is like taking a handful of sleeping pills (I imagine). 2012 all over again... pitching is great early, probably wear out by the time the hitters wake up and then September pain. smh. Hopefully the hitting gets in gear before mid-May this year.

Feel free to post in the Reds thread, I never mind talking about how good or bad The Pirates are.
