I've been watching a lot of players that could benefit the Cavs. I'm not seeing a whole lot that impresses me. I like Cody Zeller and Ben Mclemore. Shabazz Muhammed is growing on me.

We need an 18+ PPG 3 who is long enough to D up the opponent's 3 or 4 effectively. Should be easy enough to get one of those, right?

he'll be the best NBA player from UCLA's current roster (and from what I have seen in college basketball this season). Yes, he has alot of growing to do on the court, but his skillset is all there. He just has to learn how to use them more consistently.

Brian Scalabrine Dominates One-on-One Challenge By Gary Dzen, Boston.com Staff Former NBA player and current Celtics broadcaster Brian Scalabrine had some fun last week with the notion that an average player off the street could beat him one-on-one. In a contest organized by 98.5 The Sports Hub's Toucher and Rich show, Scalabrine easily beat four challengers who applied to take on the 11-year NBA veteran. Comcast Sports Net aired the first portion of the contest Tuesday night. The clip features Scalabrine beating former Syracuse player Matt Tomaszewski by a score of 11-2. Tomaszewski scored early on a hook shot and then struggled on both ends as Scalabrine went down to the block often. "They're all good basketball players," Scal told Toucher and Rich Wednesday. "People just don't understand the size and speed and strength of anybody in the NBA." The bit sprung up organically from conversations Scalabrine had with hosts Rich Shertenlieb and Fred Toucher. On Wednesday, Scalabrine said he took on the challenge for fun. "I'm not trying to prove anything with all this," said Scalabrine. "I like to have fun, I like to play basketball. I think the Pelicans name is sweet. A lot better than the Hornets.
The logo....."meh"
The colors.....booooooooring. Red, White, Blue and Gold. Come on. You're New Orleans, put yourselves on the map with a distinctive combo. Red, White, Blue and a bit of Gold? Outside of the gold, the other three colors are used by 65% of all other professional sports teams in the US.
Oh well, they still stink.

Magic did it his rookie year but it took him till game 6 and final game of the 1979-1980 NBA championship to get the hit the 40 pts in a game mark, he had 41 in that game.

bold - I agree. Last year I watched a game courtside. I've been to many games but being that close really gives you a different perspective. The guards' size and heights all seemed to be exaggerated, I was bigger and taller than every one of them and towered over Isaiah Thomas. NBA bigs on the other hand are just massive. It's almost hard to get a read on their heights because they are just so damn big, DeMarcus Cousins especially. Then you had our centers Erden and Hollins who were just really tall, geeky looking guys.
The guards might not be big but their athleticism, acceleration, hops, and skill are off the charts.. Kyrie especially. It's hard to overstate how fast, high, and physical the game looks up close. What looks like a routine flop on TV looks like a collision up close. I'm not saying flopping doesn't happen, it just looks a lot different when you're there. I left thinking that playing a full 82 game schedule in the NBA was probably more difficult than a full 16 game schedule in the NFL. Though if I were to somehow have the same vantage point for an NFL game I might feel differently.

I've seen one game that close, and it's flat-out amazing.
Lakers/Cavs 2006, it was a Sunday ABC afternoon game. I think it was maybe my favorite live event that I have ever been to.
I was never a Kobe hater, but after that day I really had more respect for him as a player. He's amazing. Lebron too. Lebron kinda goes without saying, because he's this larger than life figure. Kobe isn't much bigger than a lot of the guys in his position, but damn, he was sticking shots that had no business going in.
You also realize how physical the game is from sitting that close. I was so close to the action I could hear the trash talking.
If you ever get the chance to sit courtside for an NBA game, don't ever pass up the chance. I don't care if it's the two crappiest teams.

So apparently Shabazz Muhammed showed up for a post game interview, not wearing his school issued backpack..
But rocking a Gucci bag...
UCLA is investigating.
First off, I don't really care if he got a free bag because he plays sports, he got free college too, the fact that its a big deal anymore is laughable...
The worst part, and the biggest problem I have with the system, is if there was "wrongdoing" UCLA won't be effected until Shabazz (who would be the guilty party) is gone...
In all of college sports, I swear every year there are teams and players effected by players and people that aren't even there. USC being sanctioned LAST YEAR for Reggie Bush (Hasn't been there since 06) tome was ridiculous...
Am I the only one that pronounces hyperbole "Hyper-bowl" instead of "hy-per-bo-le"?

Cavaliers win.
They owned the 4th quarter, 31-18. Exceptional team effort. I was glad to see Scott reward the bench guys by leaving them in when they were doing well.
Livingston was incredible in relief of Irving. Speights was excellent as well. He may not give up the ball once he gets it down low ..... or he may just not yet know where everyone is ..... but he did a nice job scoring down low, and rebounding .... as well as playing solid defense.
Really nice game, coming back from being way down in the 1st half, and even again down 20 in the 3rd quarter.

I have been thinking about last night's game ...... and I was shocked at how well the 2nd unit moved the ball .. especially given that 2 of the guys just got here. They played solid defense, and they shared the ball on offense.
That really seems to be lacking with our starters.
Our backups had 13 assists, while our starters had 14.
Man the backups did a great job sharing the ball.
