I have a buddy out in LA who's a Laker fan, and he thinks they are finally starting to come around, and that they will get a low seed, which I think is the best situation for us.

They could. They are only 3 games out of the final spot.

Plus, they have no advantage in tanking, because they lost their 1st round pick no matter what because of trades.

They'll have trouble now that Gasol's out 4-6 weeks, especially if Dwight's shoulder continues to be an issue.

Shaqs team is gonna destroy Barkley with Kyrie and Lillard. He also has Dion and Zeller.

I really wish that the 4 Cavaliers could have played together in the game. That would have been fun.

D'Antoni thinks the post play is the least efficient play in basketball. (yes he's a fool)

they could grab the last playoff spot, but it's going to be a struggle.

Nash just isn't Nash. watching Lakers v. Celtics right now and Nash just looks like the old man on the court (some nice passes but he used to just control the flow of a game and he doesn't have that anymore)

I think Portland will slip up, not sure about Houston.

Teams that score a lot will win a lot of games in the regular season.

Nice to see the Cavaliers knock off the Magic. It seems like they have had our number ...... so an 11 point win is a thing of beauty indeed.

Speights with 19 points and 5 boards, Ellington with 14 points ........ plus the Cavaliers still have a 1st round pick coming from that thef .... err ..... trade.

Interesting ..... and I think well worth the risk, if it happens.

The Cleveland Cavaliers are preparing to offer former No. 1 overall pick Greg Oden a two-year deal after the trade deadline passes, according to the Akron Beacon Journal.

The deal would reportedly include a third year as a team option.

With the uncertainty of what might happen at the trade deadline, teams are hesitant to bring on a new player because it impacts the salary cap and roster slots. That's why the Cavs intend to wait a couple weeks. Once the dust settles, the interest in signing Oden will rise.

Oden reportedly has been targeting a comeback for the 2013-14 season. But with interest in him building, he might choose to sign now and continue his rehab as part of a team.

Oden has reportedly met with both the Cavs and the Celtics in recent weeks about a comeback. The Heat also have had interest in the big man.

The first player chosen in the 2007 draft hasn't played a game in the NBA since Dec. 5, 2009 and had his third microfracture surgery in March 2012, on his left knee. For his entire career, he has appeared in only 82 games.

Oden never officially retired but more just took time away to finish his degree at Ohio State and attempt to get healthy. He's just 25 years old and still has a unique skill set for a man of his size.

The question still remains, even if Oden is signed: Will he ever actually play? That might sound unfair, but his recent history suggests it remains a concern.

Since Oden played his college basketball in the state of Ohio, this would be a homecoming of sorts and potentially exactly the kind of atmosphere around him needed to get his career on track.

Oden averaged 9.4 points and 7.3 rebounds in parts of two seasons with Portland.

Oden shouldn't even consider going to any team besides the Suns.

Why the Suns?

An article I read said that the proximity to the Cleveland Clinic played a role in the Cavaliers considering signing him, because he can have top quality care for his knees locally.

I'd say that the Cavaliers did pretty well with Big Z for quite a few years.

I don't know if kinesiology and the like will help with 2 knees that have had micro-fracture done to them.

The rest sounds almost like pre-emptive stretching and flexibility exercises. (which are always a good idea for athletes, especially older ones.

The Suns made Grant Hill respectable again after he almost died from surgery.

Alonzo Gee is tired of people talking about his lack of production on offense.

He sure lit up the 1st quarter.

Is it encouraging or discouraging seeing Tristan do better without Andy? Obviously it's good looking in to the future. However what if we stunted his growth?

It's obvious from what I've seen that he needed someone to space the court and let him do work that way.

i don't think TT was ready last year. this year he has more floor space without Andy and his offseason work is showing. just be glad he is able to take advantage in Andy's absence.

Very encouraging. They should be taking steps and preparing to move forward without Andy as a part of the team.

I think that both Zeller and Speights have the ability to play away from the basket, which allows Tristan more space to operate in.

I also think that he is starting to mature with regards to his game. He has that nice little teardrop shot that he lacked last year. That is just a thing of beauty, and about as close to unstoppable as you get in the NBA.

I do think that he benefits from improved spacing on the floor without Varejao ..... but I also believe that he is developing beyond that. .

Playing the role Tristan has is not easy at that level. It's a rough transition. Playing inside in the NBA is not something that can be taught overnight. Physically, you're just not to the level of a guy that's a 3-4 year vet, or even older. You may be done growing, but you still haven't filled out. You're a pup out there.

He's still a bit wild when he has the ball in the paint, but he's shown obvious improvement.

NBA/NCAA jerseys are the one sports uniform that cant be worn in public in my opinion. There are a few exceptions when it's ok, I'll give you that, but your average person can't and shouldn't be wearing one in a social setting.

I've argued for years that the best jersey to wear around town are soccer jerseys. They are essentially just t-shirts. And they don't need to be personalized.

I hope these catch on......but maybe not that tight.
