It wasn't me that said the Browns got the shaft, that was someone else.

I never thought he would come here, and I doubt Ozzie would let him go to a division team. I'm sure he was salivating at the thought of the niners. IMO they have a real chance of going back to the SB. He might just get two rings in a row.

Great deal for the 49ers. They needed another WR badly.
They had about 12 picks, in this draft and multiple picks in each of the last 3 rounds. Odds are not many of those picks were going to make that Super Bowl team.

I don't know how trading Boldin to the Browns because we are in the division is at all riskier than trading Boldin to SF who you just barely beat in the superbowl, largely due to Boldin.

San Fran had a pretty lousy WR corp last season. Adding in Boldin now makes them a very powerful offense. Hard to not picture them in the big game next season.

But oh no, don't give him to the Browns, they already have Christian Yount

Come on. We're division rivals. 2 games a year. And we were competitive in both games last season. The thought of Boldin on our team wouldn't be pretty to the Ravens.

What a steal for the 49ers. It's a friggin' HEIST.

Whenever there is a trade in sports, there isn't always a side that gets had and a side that wins out. Sometimes it works that way, sometimes it works for both sides, sometimes for no one.

If one side gets had in an inter-division trade, the guy at the forefront of that trade is getting fired. That's why you don't really ever see it.

Theo Epstein said something years ago about how someone in the business told him, as he was an up and coming exec, to assume the guy at the other end of the deal knows more than you do.

Well I think after that nauseating turn of our worst pickups list took over this thread might be indicative of our need of a Veteran WR at least from the FA list out there.

Boldin never was available to us.
Welker...too much miles n I ??? his production w/o Brady - remember Givens. ???
Wallace I like as a weapon...one I don't think that Benjamin can become. Wallace has some toughness for a speed guy.

Amondondo whatever his name is...on the cheap maybe.

I don't like the fact we let Cribbs go.

We can get that elderly Vet WR that is no longer a weapon but help the youngsters with their reads n routes. Like Boldin w/o the talent...lol But not sure if they would make the 53 roster.

JMHO...I'll be surprised if we pick up somebody. Banner stated no Bandaid guys...so young n productive.

Agree with a lot of that, but I don't think Wallace is going to happen for us.

I like Amendola because he's a volume pass catcher, and we could use one of those.

I like Welker, I just have a hard time believing he would want to come to Cleveland at this point in his career. I wonder if GB has any interest? Could you imagine him in that offense?

Green Bay pretty much never signs free agents, so it would be a huge deal if they broke the bank for Welker. (I know you aren't saying they will).

I think we will end up with Edelman, the poor man's Wes Welker, and I am fine with that. He can be our slot receiver and take over kick returns.

I think Welker remains a Patriot, Wallace goes to the Dolphins, Amendola goes to the Eagles, and we TRY to pay Greg Jennings way too much but still don't land him...

Yeah I don't think we are going to go after Wallace either - just saying what I like. But honestly to spend that much money for a #3 WR I don't think we will do it. Gordon n Little will be out there as starters cause of their size n compliments to the run game. Wallace would come in on Passing downs or a Spread offense look.

JMHO - the rest I don't see much unless its to replace the bottom depth?

I don't think so. He was dissed by BB until injuries forced the issue. I think, if the money is right he's gone. NE won't match a high offer.

Never thought he'd come here, but I was pretty sure he wouldn't sign with NE after the way they treated him last year, so he took 12 mil for a two yr deal with Denver. Tom Bradey is POed with the NE FO now.... Wes becomes the first player to hit BB in the gut.

Jennings is more of an explosive player than Welker, but no one in the history of the league is better at what Welker does than Welker.

Also, I would be mildly surprised if Jennings signed for less than the contract Welker got ($6 million over two years).
