Haden already is an elite player and anything Horton tries to do to affect his game is just going to detract from it. How can Horton hold these views? Is he just figuring this out? Oh my gosh, Dude, Horton, stop trying to change things and just go out and coach. Stop trying to " make " anyone anything and be happy for the benfit you get from having this kind of talent on your team. So if Hayden makes a play next year we're supposed to thank Horton? Gimme a Break! The arrogance of that. You didn't do anything for Hayden except INHERIT his talent on your defense. You want to make somebody? Go out and make Tashon , freaking , Gipson! or someone else comparable to that. If you want to take CREDIT for something, DO SOMETHING! Don't take credit for what is ALREADY THERE! And good luck! Because I want to see you win. In spite of the Feelings! I have that you guys are even running this team, and not the guys you replaced. good grief. Can Deshaun Watson play better for the Browns, than Baker Mayfield would have? ... Now the Games count.

Heck, just look at what Horton is saying. He is saying that he wants Haden to be elite. Saying he has the ability to be elite. Y'all know what potential means, right? It means you aren't there yet. I am not knocking the guy, but I agree w/a couple of other posters who say is overrated on the boards. I think guys run away from him on long crossing routes at times. He gives up too many completions. I think Joe is a good player and can be a great player. I hope he keeps his head on straight and reaches his potential.

Maybe you question should be re-worded to "too bad he wouldn't risk it and go for interception first, knock/deflection second". He has an abundance of pass deflections, some of them he "should" have took the risk of intercepted it.
