Only the storm of 93 was a real serious event....that was a perfect storm. it was like a winter hurricane. Gulf mositure a hitting super cold cell.....thunder and lightening in a snowstorm. That was a first for me....pretty strange. I measured close to 16 inches of snow here at the house pretty much over night.
We spent the night of the '93 storm in our SUV parked at an Exxon station in Jellico, Tennessee, right at the base of the mountain on I-75. The freeway was closed because it was impassable at the top. I remember getting out of the truck every hour or so to kick snow away from the exhaust pipe. The next morning, 75 was still closed, so we talked to some locals and got directions to take 25-W around the mountain and back to I-75. I didn't get out of 4 wheel drive until about 50 miles south of Atlanta. They called it the Storm Of The Century at the time, but now with a 24 hour weather channel, we have a couple of those every year. Storms keep people glued to that station, helps them sell laundry soap and what-not.

You are lucky you got hung up there. It's a pretty good pull up that hill at the state line and a long stretch of nothing before you start going back down on the way to Knoxville. I am sure the Tennessee National Guard and to pull people from up there for a few days.
Sounds like you have made the drive before....a very impressive entry or exit from the state no doubt, but in a Blizzacaine....not so much.
If everybody had like minds, we would never learn. GM Strong

I think people put too much stock in weather conditions as an indicator of why a player chooses a certain spot to play.
Weather conditions and quality of life have a lot to do with it. I'd put it up there with money, job security and winning.
If I'm in my mid-to-late twenties, and I get two identical offers, one from Miami, and one from Cleveland. I'm probably taking Miami, unless I think Cleveland has a good shot to get to the Super Bowl.
Not to mention the Tax code in Florida vs Ohio makes an equal money offer much better in florida.
