That didn't prove anything.
How so? It's a quote that shows that he wasn't always well-liked by both his teammates and coaches.
You can argue that that's only one instance of his teammates (not coaches) calling him out, but it doesn't change that Rhodes was at one point — not liked by some of his teammates.
I really don't understand how that's not ample proof. It does prove something. (the point wasn't to prove that Rhodes is likely going to come to Cleveland and cause a stir in the locker room)

Back to Rhodes ......I would guess that the issue is that he is getting older, will be 32 when the season starts, and some reports say that he has lost a step.
I'm sure that if Horton really wanted Rhodes that we would have signed him by now.
Micah 6:8; He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.

Yes. I think it was you who posted that we have two players over 27 on our team (Campbell and Weeden). I have no problem with passing on older players. Better to be a year too early than a year too late.
With that said, Rhodes was pretty good last year. Signing him would let us address other positions more thoroughly in the draft. Or it would allow us to draft his replacement and not force him to play right away.

I see the point that some posters are trying to make. This guy seems to have trouble around him all the time. He somehow got the nickname "Hollywood".
On this, the FO has my full trust. If they (Horton included) take a pass on this guy, then I think that was the right decision.
There is no level of sucking we haven't seen; in fact, I'm pretty sure we hold the patents on a few levels of sucking NOBODY had seen until the past few years.

watched a bunch of AZ games before and after Horton was announced. AZ played both man-to-man and zone. He blitzes an absolute ton and that includes his DBs.
Expect to seet he zone-blitz and the normal man-to-man blitz. He'll constantly mix up coverages (safety back, no safety help, umbrella zone, etc.)
You think they will blitz with Haden at all? I was wondering that the other day.

I think that depends on Haden more than anything else. GB blitzed with Woodson all the time because Charles just had a knack for finding the seams to the QB/RB and making plays. I don't know if Haden will have the same knack.
I didn't see AZ blitz much with Peterson, but it's an interesting thought.

I guess it could also depend on the other DB's on the field. We don't really know who the #2 corner is, and if it's a rookie like Milliner or someone else, I would think that they would lay off putting their best cover corner away from the secondary.

I don't know about that though. You certainly couldn't do it as often, but one of the best ways to blitz is to catch the offense off guard and doing so with Haden might just do that. I think you'd have to zone behind that blitz though because I wouldn't want our current crop of DBs on islands with WRs.
of course, I don't expect our DB will look the same week1 from what we have today.

I guess a lot of it will be determined by how our secondary looks by the beginning of the season.
I mean, let's face it, who else do we have on the roster who could actually cover a WR?
You live by the blitz and die by the blitz. If a WR is open in time for their QB to get the ball off, you die by the blitz and who else besides Hayden do we currently have on the roster that we can "count on" to prevent a WR from getting open quickly?
Nobody I can think of......
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

Verse, I completely agree with your assessment of TJ Ward and how Horton will use him. I think the defense Horton runs will maximize Ward's strengths and he could be a terror out there. I really look for him to have a fantastic season. The main worry is TJ seems to be a little injury prone.
