I talk to one of his close relatives every day. I'm curious to see if he'd like him on the team, seeing as he's a Browns fan.

Barkley at 6.

We know Lombardi loves him. And Norv is raving about him. And a QB at 6 would represent the best value at that spot.

And I will throw up.

And then I'll move on and hope for the best.

I would have to manage to drive to Berea and smack the living crap out of the entire front office if we drafted Barely. He's awful, lacks an arm, and would be a clone of the Charlie Frye, Brady Quinn,Colt McCoy model that has flopped so spectacularly for the better part of the past decade.

Of course, having thought about this, I would not at all want the Browns to draft a QB this year since it's obvious that they want Brandon Weeden to get his head out of his butt and figure it out in his 2nd year. And provided that Weeden doesn't figure it out, they'll just kick him to curb AQAP. Drafting a QB this year is counterproductive, especially since we haven't found a way to get a 2nd Round Pick via trade.

BUT if I was forced to draft a QB this year, I'll mention this name again. Syracuse QB Ryan Nassib - 3rd Round.

The only major Quarterback in this years draft that I have any kind of major interest in is E.J. Manual of Florida State. He was a starter I think for two or three full years and played in a mixture of pro and spread formations. He is a tall, athletic Quarterback with a solid arm and I think could open up the play calling and creativity of the offense.

The only way I would select him is if we're able to trade out of the #6 spot and acquire a 2nd round pick from someone, if he is still there in the 2nd round I would then use that pick on him (cause I very highly doubt he slides into the 3rd round).

Other than E.J. Manual there isn't anyone in this draft I am in love with. I don't dislike Geno Smith, in fact he could end up being a real special player but I don't think he'll even slide to #6.

Why? Wouldn't you REALLY use the #6 pick on a possible UDFA QB?

No insult intended but that is Funny. The guy you think is our savior is the least likely to even get a chance...Perfect for your We ARE Doomed Stance...lol

What he did show me last year in his opportunity - He was the most experienced in our System n Shurmurs playbook - It also was the only System n Playbook he has ever known since joining the NFL. You mean he looked natural n comfortable???

I agree he was. Actually he should have been the starting QB in 2012 n let Weeden learn n maybe come in half way during the season if Lewis was struggling. But for you to put your hat on IRONICALLY the only QB on our Roster who will not get ANY REPS with the ones unless there is injury n the guy we CUT if we draft a QB in rounds 3-6...as you LINE IN THE SAND on us becoming a RELEVANT Team

I would not draft a QB in this class at all,it's the opposite of last years. Next years group is good.
However the Browns do have a interest in Zac Dysert from Miami Oh..

Sean Renfree- Duke. 7th Round.

Amen to that... I might even go 6th round. You avoid a controversy like you would get the first time Weeden struggled if a 3rd round QB or higher was on the bench.. Renfree has decent size at 6'3" 220, above average arm, and probably the smartest QB in the draft (and I'm talking Xs and Os smart, not academically smart... though he is that too)... and Coach Cutcliff sort of knows his QBs...

Mayock: Duke QB Sean Renfree 'might surprise us all'

By Marc SesslerApril 9, 2013 at 01:18 p.m

Sean Renfree has flown under the radar ahead of this month's draft, but NFL Network's Mike Mayock believes the Duke quarterback looms as a diamond in the rough for one passer-needy team.

"Find a spot (for him)," Mayock told NFL Network's "Path to the Draft" on Tuesday. "I mean, in this entire group of quarterbacks this year, by far (Renfree) throws with more anticipation and timing than anybody else. Now, part of the reason is, at best, he has an average arm, so throughout his life he's had to learn to get rid of the football more quickly, anticipate more quickly. I think he's quicker mentally."

Mayock fell in love with Renfree's tape of the Clemson game from last season and dialed up Duke coach David Cutcliffe, who told him, "Look, I don't say this lightly: He's got the work ethic and passion of a Peyton Manning."

The 6-foot-3 Renfree is expected to make a full recovery from the torn right pectoral muscle he suffered in December, but the injury remains a concern. So does Renfree's less-than-powerful arm, but Mayock said Tuesday, "forget the arm strength" and take a look at the total package.

"Worst case, he's going to push the starting quarterback, just because this kid watches so much tape and cares so much," Maycok said. "Worst-case scenario, you get a quality backup and, who knows, down the road he might surprise us all."

I'm not opposed to forgoing a QB altogether in this draft. If Weeden doesn't work out, I don't want to put our hopes into a mid-to-late-rounder and hope he works out later...cue Frye, McCoy, Anderson, McCown jokes now.

If Weeden doesn't pan out, chances are we will be a low pick anyways. Then do what we have to get the franchise QB in round one.

I agree, but, if this FO sees their Franchise QB @ #6 (Smith or Barkley) I guess I could live with that, I just don't want to waste a mid round picks on QB anymore ... JMHO

Agreed, Memphis. Without a 2nd round pick, I'm not on board with spending our #6, and by the 3rd round, our chances of getting a hit are likely slim....

I'm not just not opposed to it, I'm completely in favor of the idea of not even thinking about taking ANY QB in this Draft.
In fact, I'm vehemently against the idea of drafting a QB. If we happen to bring in a UDFA, so be it... but don't waste any picks on one.

Just read where Geno Smith has 32 fumbles in his college career?

Wow. Just wow.

Well, that's exactly what you want in a spread option running QB, right?

Watch out Vick, we've got your replacement coming!! LOL

(sadly, this probably means we're a lock to take him at 6)

So, this stat is actually kind of tough to find on the internet.

Turns out (if these statistics are correct) Mike Glennon not only led the FBS in INTs, but was 2nd in fumbles as well. Highlighted QBs relevant to 2013 draft. Nick Florence decided to stop playing football.

Totally agree with you Kelso. Saw EJ Manual on Gruden QB camp and something about him makes me think he is gonna be this years "Russell Wilson" of the draft. Only, your right we would have to trade down and get a second round pick to get him though.

So, we're taking Taylor Martinez in the supplemental draft and using our 1st rounder to get him?

I follow WVU. If Geno falls to us at 6, we should trade the pick to team that wants ahead of the Bills. He is a good QB but Not for us. If Turner like Barkley, then trade back, accumulate picks then draft him later. He will probably be 3rd QB taken and can be there in 2nd round. I like the CB opposite Haden. JMHO

I was hoping that Manuel would somehow drop to the 3rd round, but I keep seeing more and more of him being listed as the 2nd QB in this class and either end of 1st round or top of 2nd for his draft slot.

He's a viable option if we trade down and get a pick in that range, but I'll hope he drops more.

no fumbles in four years

I'm not sure what you're looking at there.

He didn't force of recover and fumbles defensively ..... which is no surprise ..... but the site doesn't list fumbles by the player himself.

I just watched a video of Geno Smith made by a KC fan wanting to take Geno number 1 It shows him making all the throws and really shows the potential he has to be a superstar in the nfl. I was really impressed with the way he puts it over his recievers shoulder and drops right in his hands almost every time. Also the more i watched the more i became impressed with steadman bailey wonder why noone is talking about him. But here is a link check it out

i'm also surprised why Stedman Bailey and Markus Wheaton are considered 3rd/4th round guys on most boards. they are small, but both showed much more in college than a guy like Benjamin.

i think it speaks more to the depth of receiver from about pick 20 or so on. There is such a logjam at WR in that range that you have to pick somewhere to start sorting the guys, and size is one of the things.
