You think Teo is going to last till the 5th or 6th round? No way

Yeah I'm a moron for thinking that what remotely did I state for that to come out to show how ridiculous I am???

I asked a simple question...and you answered this imaginary Great player that is now released - and btw was that pic a joke or he was really arrested???

But you answered...you would not have picked Teo...cause this released player would have gotten you the great first round LB you were searching for.

I personally liked McClain coming out of Alabama...don't know why he has fallen down by the wayside. But there has to be a reason. Ok thanks for the answer. But I will just remember - You're a Steeler fan...makes more sense.

EO...I honestly mean do disrespect or even sarcasm...I am not sure what you meant about Teo.

As for McClain.....the Steelers starting ILB's this year are Timmons and Foote....not matter who they draft....thats pretty much a given...Timmons is their best LB and Foote still wears the green dot.

McClain had value to me because I could test drive him for a year for little expense.

If he turns it around....maybe he starts before the season is over....my hope is that he would show enough of the top 5 pick he once was that I extend him.....if he does not... I could cut him and it cost me nothing since being on the roster was part of the trade.....I cut him and try to find a ILB next season.

Teo or McClain would both be backups this year...hopefully getting some snaps here and there in relief.....but McClain would have let me look elsewhere.....as I feel both are more talented than any late round pick.......Its just my opinion.

I honestly meant no disrespect..I was just trying to see what you meant.

Hack, I can understand the logic of bringing a very talented player into a veteran locker room, especially when an organization like the Steelers or Patriots do it.
It can really pay off, because the teammates, not just the coaching staff or front office can be succesful at keeping that problem player in line.
Obviously, then that draft choice could have been used on another postion.

I really think that is McClains biggest problem....he went to a bad organization....where there were no leaders...where players cared more about their check than the W's.....and then played him out of position.....His off field problems were stupid...we all agree on that...but many 21 year old millionaires do stupid things...especially when there is no mentor to show him how to be a professional.

I think in the right system...with the right guidance...he can be the force he was at Alabama....it was not just the Raiders who thought this kid was good...it was virtually every scout for every team.....same with JaMarcus Russell (who I would bring to camp) ....When you look at how many first rounders the Raiders have had that get labeled BUST...you must ask...is it them...or the player...Robert Gallery was considered about as safe a pick as you could make...Russell, McClain....the list is long.

I hope to make pick 33 tonight. I wouldn't mind making pick 120 tonight, but that's just me, Unrealistic. Eotab should have put the newbie comment in purple.=sarcasm.

Hack, I agree completely, concerning the Raiders organization and lack of leadership.
They seemed to embrace the whole renegade, other organizations can **** themselves attitude that may have worked in the 60's and 70's, but football evolved and the Raiders organization never did.

As Baltimore's representative I took Terron Armstead. The rationale is that they don't have a true franchise left tackle on the roster. Oher is average to below average on the left although he is very good on the right. McKinnie has not resigned, although this pick would not prevent that. Armstead may sit for a year regardless. Or he may start on the left right away. Either way, that team needs a stable, franchise left tackle and this was the best opportunity to get one. He wasn't going to be there when the Ravens pick at 62 and it was too risky to trade down because Jacksonville might have taken him at 33.

Either way, I wish I could keep with this draft. But I can't. I have to go back to the real world on Monday and I have things to do tomorrow. I already PM'd clevesteve about this, so the Falcons and Ravens are now ownerless. I will check in from time to time and if you still need me I'll make a pick, but I can't be counted on after this. I thought this draft would be much further along by this point.

49ers - with 13 picks for the draft and not many holes, if I was them in real life I would look to trade some of the picks hoping to get a 1st round pick for next year. But my other option was getting quality over quantity. So my idea was trying to keep my first round pick and add another pick.

Picks:

Safety Jonathan Cyprien, I picked up a hard hitting safety, that from reports can play SS or FS.

DE Margus Hunt has good speed for a DE, has either boom or bust potential. Would hope he can either start opposite of Justin Smith or learn techniques from him and for the first year or two sub for him to give him breaks since J. Smith is getting older.

WR Keenan Allen has a ton of potential also (if injuries check out) was considered a possible 1st round pick. Even though they drafted AJ Jenkins last year, they still need some depth with M Manningham coming off of ACL/PCL injuries. Would back up or push newly acquired Anquan Boldin.

Those are three pretty good picks. The 49ers are the exact type of team Hunt can be successful on.

Facemask, Great value picks that should work well on that team.
Hunt can contribute and get better, without having to be the man on lesser defense. Allen, if healthy is a steal.

Was fielding offers- but none came. Oh well!

Detroit's 2nd rounder in this scenario was tough. I had a trade proposal to get back up into the top 25 if Demontre Moore was there, but since he went off the board, there didn't seem to be any day one starter potential guys that could play RDE- which is what Detroit really needs. The closest seems to be Carradine- and he's coming off knee surgery and could be argued as a better fit on the right side anyway. Montgomery has no work ethic to be considered here (not that explosive either), Lemonier could be a huge liability against the run and is a one-move pony, and Okafor looks to be ideally suited to the LDE spot- not necessary now with the signing of Jason Jones to bolster their run defense, force pressure form the inside out with Fairly/Suh, and get his arms up when he can't get to the QB. Decided to look elsewhere.

One of Detroit's biggest problems on offense- outside of losing both starting tackles and now going with a rookie and a still fairly green guy (most likely Reiff at RT and Johnson at LT) is a lack of push in the run game. Their interior guys could not move DTs off the ball. Raoila, who's been a solid starter for a decade is light in the ass, and Sims is average. Bill Nagy is penciled in at RG right now. To get the most out of their backfield (newer investments in Reggie Bush, 2nd rounder Mikel Leshoure, and people's champ Joique Bell), they'll need a guy who they can plug and play to pave the way without sacrificing pass protection ability. Larry Warford's that guy. He handled the first-round DT prospects he played against, is surprisingly nimble, and a big bad 330 lbs. mamma-jamma. If he stays healthy, he could pan out to be like Brian Waters down the road. In the meantime, he could get his feet wet starting out at RG, and probably replace Rob Simbs on the left side in a year or two while they find a dime-a-dozen RG to replace him with.

Also considered their needs at SLB, WR, and Corner, but think this is the more pressing of a concern after RDE. My three considerations after him were rolling the dice on Carradine, then the WRs Hopkins/Woods.

I know teams trade out of late 2nd round...but early 2nd round is an enviable position by all teams. I of course could be wrong but I don't remember too many teams trading out of it except to move into the first???

Anyway I assume Buffalo's pick #41 I think...will not be up until after I come back from Church...leaving soon.

Yikes, I like the selection of Warford, I am hoping the Browns can draft him, as well.
The Lions, I think will adress protecting the franchise QB, which also keeps the value of Megatron. Even with a mediocre defense they will always have a fighters chance, in every game. It is easier to piece together an average defense than offense, as I believe offense needs to built more than pieced together.

Dolphins need offensive play makers.

Justin Hunter or another WR/RB/TE

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

They need an OT badly, lost Long to St.Louis.
I say Menelik Watson, from Fla. State.
They also signed TE Keller and WR Wallace, they have couple solid RBs, but they might want a RB. I think Tackle is the way to go, though.

The Browns considered trading up to the early part of the 2nd Round, but decided to gamble again .... and again, they get their main target at the biggest position of need on the team ...

With the 43rd selection of the 2013 NFL Draft, the CLEVELAND BROWNS select ...

ERIC REID FS - LSU

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

Hopkins is great value there. I think he's as good as any wide receiver inn this draft. I would have taken him but wr just made no sense for tenn.

After much wheeling and dealing and almost doubling my draft pick.... the GM went from 5 picks to 9 pick and can now plug holes and grab starters.

and with the #44 pick of the 2013 Dawgtalkers mock draft:

The Carolina Panthers select: Jamar Taylor, CB, Boise St.

haha good call eo!

As a representative for the Browns you knew I had to screw up in some way.

I'll post it over in the other.

Barrett Jones or Travis Frederick

I think Center is the only spot on their OL that is in ok shape. Both tackles and a guard is needed well before a center. As well, DE is a big need.

From a value perspective, here are some options at those positions using CBS rankings:
Sam Montgomery, DE
Cornellius Carradine, DE
Justin Pugh, G/T
David Bakhtiari, OT

I'd go either Pugh or Bakhtiari

I have a question.

Is it fair that a person checks in forst thing in the morning, sees 4 or 5 teams ahead of him, and assumes that he won't be picking until that evening .... only to find out that other "GMs" have made their picks in rapid fire succession, and he has missed his pick?

Maybe a suggestion for next year. Perhaps give each "GM" 1 hour per pick in the first round, and half an hour in the other rounds. No matter what happens, each poster would know what time they have to make their pick. A "GM" can pick early, and GMs can run off a series of picks if they choose, but that poster who doesn't realize that his team is up would still get to pick within his alloted time.

In other words:

Team 1: 9am - 10am Day 1
Team 2: 10:01am 0 - 11 am Day 1
Team 3: 11:01 am - 12 Noon Day 1
Team 4: 12:01pm - 1 pm Day 1

If teams 1, 2, and 3 all pick within the first 15 minutes of the day, then team 4 still is entitled to wait until 12:01pm - 1pm to make their pick.

You would still make it through the 1st round in less than 3 days. The 2nd round would take less than a day and a half. There would be no confusion as to when someone has to have their pick in, and no one would be (rightly) ticked off if they thought that they would be picking at 8PM, and went to dinner with their family, only to check back in after returning home to find out that their pick had been made for them ... even though they should have been on the clock..

Just a suggestion for future consideration.

The only OT needed is for backup ... Thomas and Schwartz are as solid as any in the NFL!!!

Wrong team, unless of course the Browns traded Thomas and Schwartz to Miami. The question was about who to pick for Miami, since their GM has gone over the 3 hour allotment.
