I wonder why anyone thinks I give a damn what they do with their junk? Honestly, its so self-absorbed and egotistical.
Well, I've posted this on here before, but coming out of the closet in the late 70s wasn't a selfish, "look at what I do with my junk" announcement. Other minorities wear their minority on their sleeves. Being gay wasn't something an average person could see. And since the average person is scared of something they don't understand, being hidden wasn't helping the equal rights movement.
So the gay community started asking each other to come out to anyone and everyone. If you and I found out our neighbor, coworker, mailman, bus driver, professional athlete or politician was gay, maybe the mystery of what a gay person is like shatters because you already knew one.
But in 2013, I think it's a little played out. I'm not minimizing what Brittney or anyone else that comes out, but I guess I just don't see the point anymore. I guess having a male professional athlete would be the only barrier to break, but who knows when that will be.
I pretty much agree.
With all of the swirls about a male athlete or more potentially coming out, the girl probably thought it was a good opportunity to come out.
From the way the article is structured, she was asked in a group interview about homosexuality in sports, and responded that she was out.
I don't see how that can be taken to be egotistical or self-absorbed.
If someone asked a guy in a locker room 'blondes or brunettes?' and they answer, I don't see the problem with it.
I think it's a dumb question to ask, buy why attack the answer?

The whole point of publicly coming out is that it's not something to be ashamed of and you should embrace your sexuality with confidence.

I don't know that Purp is willing or capable, but if you want, I'm sure he could see about just interjecting that comment into every thread at some point.
It would save you the trouble of typing, and it's really all you seem to offer the debate.
