Trading up or anything that doesn't include taking a CB, OLB or FS in the first round.

Things that will have me throwing stuff:

1. Trading up in the first round. For anyone.
2. Going with any QB in the first round (with or without a trade down).

Hmm... that doesn't seem like too much to ask.

Agree with both. I will also add taking a TE at #6, or anywhere in top half of the 1st.

I have it on good authority that multiple shot of Jager will do this.

It'll be the same sick feeling I got when Polamalu fell in the draft far enough that Pittsburgh could move up to 16 to grab him. But hey, we traded back and got Jeff Faine and Chaun Thompson.

We didn't trade down. That was the year after the playoffs.

My bad. Either way we took a Center that washed out for us... Pittsburgh got a HOF player.
Not saying that Jones will be a HOF player but I have higher odds on him doing it than Geno. Though it wouldn't surprise me if Geno was working as a ticket taker at the Hall in 4 years. He'll need a career once he washes out.

With a draft as deep as it is with Defense, there are probably only two things that would make me lose my mind:

1) Trading up ... We don't need to. There are plenty of good players to be had at #6, and even in the top 12 if we were to trade down.

2) Drafting Geno Smith ... When there's a chance he could drop all the way to the second round.

Now if we trade up to draft Smith, I would probably flip my $#!%

Funny you should say that, I just started last night. I'm a starting pitche and I looked like Brett Meyers out there. I also hate that I was drafted by Detroit.

Go and see a movie. If you don't have a clock around, the time will feel like it passed quicker. After the movie, head to the nearest indoor driving range and kill a few buckets. Then, go home and take a shower, fix supper, and you should be right against draft time.

Meanwhile, I will sit here at work staring at the clock as each excruciating minute ticks by.

I think Geno would annoy me. Aside from Geno there are almost no players any sensible GM could draft without being fired for us at #6.

But honestly... Unless the entire preseason has been a smoke screen that just isn't going to happen.

We are probably looking at Milliner, Jones (based on Banner praise), or trading down IMO. Anything else would surprise me. Most teams put together sensible drafts (except maybe the Raiders). It is pretty rare that a team drafts an obvious bust/reach to everyone (barring Butch Davis). I will be more interested to see what we do in rounds 3 and 4 (possibly 2). That is where you find decent starters at lower importance positions like FS / OG.

I am confident in our coaches beyond measure. I would hope if they go to Haslam with grave concerns about the drafts he would be willing to fire Lombardi/Banner. (Assuming Haslam is our owner for much longer).

Ps. Browns fun fact: TJ Ward is first cousins with Maurice Jones-Drew

I feel that Banner wants to trade down at least once. SF may want to move way up. I would not be surprised if we trade with them, assuming they want a top 6 player.

We need picks.....badly.

Don't take Smith. Trade down if you can. Get a FS in round 3.

Tell him drafting a punter in the first round is good value.

Should provide some great entertainment value watching this board explode

If we draft Geno Smith I am going to be in Jail tomorrow because I will personally drive to Berea and kick the living crap out of Banner and Lombardi.

I started out as a SP also and was drafted by Cleveland. Was 13-7 at Akron with a 3.76 ERA and moved up to AAA Columbus. Only have 3 pitches (sinker, slider, change-up) though. I could have moved to develop another pitch but working on those three pitches.

Trading up in the first round.
Taking Geno Smith
Giving up anything better than one of our 5ths for Devon Bess.

And this is almost worthy of finding a different team to cheer for

Now PFT is saying we are not moving up to #3. Whew!!!

I will Lose my mind if Geno Smith is a Cleveland Brown.

We know what losers look like. We know how Quinn, Frye, McCoy look like clones of each other. Geno looks like another clone.

Just Say NO!

Tell him to sit down and shut up! and to Hang up the phone, call Mike Holmgren and conference with Tom Heckert, and do whatever they tell you to.

I will lose my mind over WHOEVER THEY PICK, unless it is Dion Jordan, E.J. Manuel, or D.J Fluker.
I fully expect to lose my mind. I don't look forward to drafts anymore with anticipation, unless tooth pulling is anticipated.

Just for later !!!!!!!!!!

and espcially for even reading an article that they want to move up and get Geno Smith who is almost as bad as Kevin Kolb. Both have NO UPSIDE!

Can Deshaun Watson play better for the Browns, than Baker Mayfield would have? ... Now the Games count.

Well Jones is still on the board so he could end up a Stiller. Then we'll see who got the better pass rusher.Hopefully it's us.
Hopefully he's gone before 17.
