Bengals get Eifert. Nice pickup for them, but he'll be a backup/second TE at this point with Gresham on board.

So they're drafting a TE with their #1 pick for depth?

I doubt that.

Atlanta trades up for Trufant.

Yeah. We should be able to get a very good CB at the top of the third.

We might even be able to trade back into the middle or end of the 2nd round to get one.

Oh God no. Please.

I want no part of a guy with major drug problems that high in the draft. Maybe he has changed, but for quite a while, drugs were more important to him than football, and that worries the crap out of me.

Doesn't matter. Honey Badger will be gone in the second.

Way to go Lombardi and clowns...You had Milliner right there and took Kam Wimbley JR.

DE Werner to the Colts. Very nice pick there.

Rhodes to the Vikings. Nice pickup there too. Excellent man to man CB for them.

did i miss slick? i missed all the fun of him getting all upset because he wanted to even reach for a CB (his words) rather than take BPA.

if Mingo pans out as a good pass rusher, it was a good pick. if not, then it was a bad pick. simple as that

Milliner is more of a zone CB ....... and we are a man to man team. I'm sure that came into play.

Skrine is equally able to play neither zone nor man. But he can hold in either coverage. Milliner might prove to be better IMO.

They are back on the clock again.

Wow! What a draft they've had already with just the 1st round. Sharif Floyd and Xavier Rhodes already ...... and now another 1st rounder. Maybe a receiver here. That would be an incredible 1st round for them.

I still think that go receiver.

Yep, Patterson.

What a tremendous draft. They grab 3 immediate starters.

But they gave up A LOT! 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 7th for a late 1st. We'll see...

As always, New England trading down to stockpile picks.

Gave up a ton - must have really loved someone (guess Patterson)

I would have loved to have houston take Paterson - I like the guy from Clemson but Paterson just seems to have so much talent.... Would have thought he'd flourished with Johnson tutoring him

They gave up a lot, but they have already had a great draft with 3 day 1 starters.

Yeah, but if you're going to drop a bunch of picks to get your guy, this is the year to do it. Pretty weak draft class overall (from what I've seen and heard).

Travis Frederick to the Cowboys. (I think that's who they said)

Do the Ravens take T'eo? I think so. I think he makes sense. I don't particularly care for him at LB ..... so I'd just as soon see that happen.

Either one would make sense.

They have a need at both spots.

Looks like it is Elam.

Elam and Reed are absolutely nothing alike except they're short.

Big board for tomorrow:

QB Geno Smith
WR Justin Hunter
G Larry Warford
DE Tank Carradine
DE Margus Hunt
DE Damontre Moore
DT Jesse Williams
DT Kawaan Short
OLB Arthur Brown
OLB Jamie Collins
CB Jamar Taylor
CB Jonathan Banks
S Matt Elam
S Jonathan Cyprien

I still question whether or not Elam might not be better suited for SS. He certainly is a hitter.

I liked Milliner, but finding dominant pass-rushers has always been more valued than finding guys to cover WRs. NYG and Pitt won SB's recently with pretty ordinary CBs. NE shifted a WR late in the season (Brown) to CB and won a SB.

as for Banner/Lombardi, we only have 1 draft pick to judge them by so far. I think it was a good pick (though it should be as it was #6 overall).

Hey Charger and Powder (if you're still around), what do you think of the Fluker pick? RT? LT? Any possibility SD goes OT again in the 2nd?

I was certainly hoping for interior OL help but I'm not going to complain too much. Opposing QBs are going to see pressure in their faces from this group. We're not just going to be trying to cover receivers for 5 seconds like we have in the past. We're going to disrupt opposing offenses with blitzes and pressure QBs into bad decisions or make them throw before they're ready or take the sack. It seems to me that the defense is going to try and make opportunities for the Browns. That's what bringing in Ray Horton is going to be doing for the defense. I think it'll be a nice change.

I still think the interior OL needs addressed (maybe they'll still do that) but if the offense goes to more of the shotgun, it might not be as much of a problem. Who is going to each Weeden how to improve his QBing skills? I don't see any QBs coach on the roster of coaches.

Yep ........ Plus, Baltimore won the Super Bowl last year with Ladarius Webb sitting out with a torn up knee. They beat Denver, and New England, and San Francisco in the playoffs ....... Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, and Colin Kaepernick, all without their best CB.

and GB had how many DB injuries when they beat Pitt?
NYG never had good CBs in their 2 runs
nor did Pitt when they beat AZ

even without Webb, I think Baltimore had the best starting CB duo since Indy's SB win.

That could be ..... and it really shows how pressure is the key.

I remember how people complained when we passed on Clay Matthews Jr ........ and how we should have taken him so we could rush the passer ..... and how that would make a huge difference .......

Well, now we have a guy who might become our own "Clay Matthews Jr" ...... as far as pass rush goes anyway.

Here is a little comparison:

Steelers CB's: Ike Taylor #1; Cortez Allen; Willima Gay; Isaiah Green; DeMarcus Van Dyke.

Ravens CB's: Jimmy Smith #1; Lardarius Webb*; Asa Jackson; Corey Graham; Chykie Brown

Bengals CB's: Leon Hall #1: Brandon Ghee; Adam Jones*; Dre Kirpatrick*; Chris Lewis-harris; Terence Newman.

Browns CB's: Joe Haden #1: Buster Skrine; Trevin Wade; Chris Owens; Johnson Bademosi (aka Bad Man); Kevin Barnes; Prince Miller

Comparing all four they all have a top #1. Bengals have the best overall. Cleveland just picked up Atlanta's #2/#3 Chris Owens, otherwise, Skrine, Wade, and Bademosi (aka Bad Man) are all second year guys. Is it really dire need in comparison?

Would have to agree with all this. In Jauron's defense, Milliner would have been the best fit. In Horton's defense, seems like rushing is thee most crucial aspect and everything else falls into place thereafter.

But really, if the QB is getting pressured with fresh rotated linebackers and linemen - do we need a stud CB duo? This move really makes me excited to see how Horton is going to attack with that front seven group.
