I believe Trich was a pretty good player and had a decent season, especially considering he had to deal with a knee surgery and played with broken ribs most of last season.
Richardson played behind an offensive line that needed some time to gel, that did get better as the season progressed. With the change at LG, from Pinkston to Greco and the addition of rookie RT Mitch Schwartz, the Oline performed better the last half of the season.
All things considered, our rookie RB had a pretty good year.
I think what we saw last year with Richardson was a combination of factors:
1. OL gelling later in the season, as you said 2. TRich playing hurt (and on 'healing' knees) 3. Suspect play-calling at times 4. Length of season: I think Richardson wore down a bit as the season continued 5. Rookie mistakes. There were times when he didn't trust/follow blocking, and thought he could improvise against pro D's like he could against college D's. Um... he got 'schooled' on that note.
I'm looking forward to seeing what he might do in a Norv O, and fully healthy, with an entire off season to get ready. My guess in that we saw about 70% (on his best days) of what we'll see this season. If my predix is accurate, kid's gonna be a blast to watch

But thanks for the KIND WORDS...nice to know what you think of me.
Wow you waaaaaaaaay over thought my words here EO. My tude didn't change at all to me. Normally I am right in line with your line of thinking. Don't get me wrong I insulted where I felt insult was needed. I have always felt people who truly respect each other can grow from insult and criticism. Otherwise I would be a blind follower and thats not me. I will not back out of that as most probably would but you made it this big production. I thought it was unlike you. I would not call out many on that but guys like you and Vers I have grown to respect. Now I see that by not letting it go I got an even MORE unwarranted fire. Duly noted.
I will take fault for not knowing the context of your brain when you wrote that, but really can we ever even when speaking? I am a bit rude sometimes. I'm not really that mean I just have no filter I guess when it comes to things like that. I just enjoy good intelligent football talk and when people result to quips while having good discussion it irks me. I suppose that you are not entirely to blame as it usually is the constant over opinionated black and white posters on these boards that bring it out in us.
Regardless back to football. I think it essentially comes down to his open field highlights and the fact that he gave his all while injured. I don't think he got on this list because of his performance which IMO is what this list should be. But as they said last year when Manning made it without playing no one ever put parameters on the list to begin with. He got on by respect and highlights IMO. Love the dude though so good for him and I hope and expected, barring injury, that it will be the worst of his career.

NRTU leave it to Browns fans to argue why one of their players shouldn't be on a top 100 players list

No doubt... even when one of them gets some love, we're not happy about it. <sigh>

Probably has been stated, but I find it hard to believe he beat out Colin Knapernick. I think Trent is going to have a strong season. Let's face it, we seen a lot of 8+ men in the box on first, second and all downs really due to no passing game/attack...
Fully healthy, with a good scheme, the possibilities are endless with TRich and as' well as the entire offense. TRich was a beast catching the ball in college. Norv likely is going to run and use him quite a bit I am guessing. We'll see!!!!!!!!

Tell you what rook... why don't you PM me your address so I can send you a few bucks to buy yourself a drink or two (if you're old enough). You seem a little tightly wound.

Because when our players do get some love, it usually involves the Vice Squad
Browns is the Browns
... there goes Joe Thomas, the best there ever was in this game.

I apologize if I don't bother posting much on these boards. I rarely find good enough conversation here worth posting. I will always answer though. I can assure you I've been on them a higher percent of my life than you though. I think that would make most more of a rook than me, but heck I'll take a free drink anyday!

I love T-Rich but I cannot sit through watching an interview with him. The NFL network and the Cleveland Browns have an interview about his reaction to being named inside the top 100 and it is brutal....kinda like every other one he has done. Like I said, I love the guy, be he comes across as not being the sharpest knife in the drawer.
At DT, context and meaning are a scarecrow kicking at moving goalposts.

I'm not saying he IS dumb ... but his interviews make him seem like the dumbest person on our team. Granted interviews can cause some people to tighten up and not speak well, but I cringe when I hear him on the radio or tv. Nevertheless, it really doesn't matter when he's on the field.
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

Gee, I guess we'll just have to treasure the few high quality interactions that you deem worthy of your replies. Maybe the mods can sticky them.

I'm sorry I don't share the same ideals as you. Just because your offended doesn't make you correct. I'd rather live my life outside an electronic screen while using this board as a source. I already feel as though I'm spending much too much time on this issue as is. Therefore I'm done until TC.

It's TGIF I'm at home chill'n doing what grown folks do...My comments don't matter anymore than the next fan with the exception of mother wit. The players, the guys on the field, the ones who know the daily ins and outs of the of preparation and execution; the people actually involved in competition... they have made a judgement about Richardson's play ON THE FIELD.
In earlier responses I tried to be polite and temper what I was saying. There is NOTHING a fan can say that means more than his peers, news flash, none of us are his peers. Among the people who are immersed in the NFL on a daily grind, those people have said he has earned the reputation as a top 100 baller. End of story.
To be clear, his peers opinion takes precedence over fan blather.
Actually, when you watch Richardson closely you can see all of the attributes of a pro bowl running back. Even on plays that weren't particularly successful the ability his evident.

Frankly I think you guys are being homers.
Man, this board is wild. I get ripped two posts up from yours for criticizing him and then you rip me for praising him. LMAO......you guys are a trip.
Everything has to be black and white. If you like a guy, you're never allowed to criticize any part of his game. If you don't like a guy, you can never praise him.
What BS!!!

I know you are going to tell me otherwise, but I ain't buying into it.
I don't believe anymore needs said on the subject.. At least not from me,, But my guess is you will have a retort for me.. have at it, you are now in this conversation alone.
What is your freaking problem? I never addressed you in my initial post. I made a post about MY FEELINGS about TRich. You questioned me. I politely answered your questions w/football talk and then you get snotty and say that garbage.

More garbage. You're bashing him because he has a low post count?
I've read both your posts. I think he knows way more about football than you---despite your Almighty post count.

Richardson certainly was an enigma last season. I think he had a fatal dose of indecision, busted ribs, and Shurmurizing (tm). There were certain runs and games where his elite talent was clearly on display. He was very good in one of the Bengals games. I would prefer he earn his ranking with consistently stellar play. But on pure potential and ability he deserves the spot. Based on his actual performance I think he didn't deserve the spot this year. But I am quite optimistic for his future. If we are predicting 2013 season 71 could quite likely be too low. I do apologize I lack tact, typically until my third or fourth post into a thread

This from a guy who has done little more than pick one fight after another since he came back? Priceless... same ole' Vers.
You might want to re-read the thread and take note of who insulted (at least attempted to insult) who first. I was just responding with a little humor. I'm sure predator is comforted knowing the Mighty Versatile Dog has his back though.
