Funny, but sad also. Phil is the real deal. he deserves to be on a winner. They are 2-2 in SF so it's not the end of the world of course, But I expected them to be better. we'll see, the year is still young.

I have and always will wish him well..

I was excited to see it because a free kick is essentially a kickoff (except from the grass instead of a tee) and Phil has been drilling kickoffs from what I've seen, but man that attempt was hideous. It was about 15 yards wide and 5 yards short.

Well I mean you aren't talking 25 yards here, it was 71 yards. That can't be easy for any one.

yeah, he really over-compensated for how hard he needed to kick it and it really hooked on him. not too surprising but likely still had better odds of scoring points for SF right there (and no worries about an INT-return TD if they tried a Hail Mary)

Nah I'm not saying it's easy, but guys put kickoffs through the uprights all the time.

We tried one of these kicks several years ago. Been trying to remember the guy's name, not our regular kicker. Steve Heiden?

IIRC he was doing kickoffs but not field goals, wasn't the punter, either.

The kick would have been 73 yards, was off but not by far.

Why do Brown fans care so much about PD, a kicker?. Could it be that the only impact player in the new era of the Browns was a kicker? LOL. He's gone now and he finds himself on a team full of impact players. IMO he's just a average kicker that was pretty darrn good in weather conditions. Even the 2 time SB winning kicker for the Pat's didn't get the props in NE that Brown's fans give to PD. He's only a freaking kcker. Pffft.

Heiden was a TE,

Steve Cox was our punter, and did double duty as our long distance FG kicker.

The kick was far left. Not even close.

From what I read about the kick..

Had the Rams guy let the ball hit the ground, they would have been given the ball from where Dawson kicked. (SF 39) Probably a mistake to try and return it, but it would have landed with somewhere between 0 and 1 seconds left on the clock.

Phil has missed more FGs than he missed all last year. I still wish him the best.

I don't. Do you know how much he's cost me on fantasy points?
