Tonight at 8 on ESPN2, Eastern Illinois vs Towson St, FCS Playoff Quarterfinal. A chance to check out QB, Jimmy Garappolo while you ramp up for Army-Navy tomorrow. CBS Sports now projects him as a 2nd or 3rd round prospect, and the 6th best QB in the draft behind Bridgewater, Carr, Manziel, Bortles, and McCarron.

Garrappolo played like Garbaggolo yesterday. Caught about half the game and he looked even worse in snow than when I saw him earlier this year. All screens, no downfield game. Towson was daring him to throw downfield and he wouldn't.
NDSU is on TV now.

Anyone think there will be any surprises with the Heisman tonight?? I think Winston wins running away... I don't think it'll even be close...

Some good news for Buckeye fans, our defense wil be extremely talented next year. I doubt Ryan Shazier stays, but if he does our front 7 will be incredible. They're not the problem, they stop the run and are #1 in the country with 40 sacks. Our secondary will be A LOT BETTER. Von Bell will start at safety. I also expect Eli Apple (our higher ranked 2013 recruit) to start at CB.

I've heard reports on how inaccurate parts of this are so it'll be interesting to see... I'm friends with a relative of Coach Tressel and can't wait to talk to her about this...

He was big, nasty, fast, physical and ALWAYS ran hard. He was everything you wanted from a RB.

Just want to say, Clarett stripping Sean Taylor of the ball was amazing in the championship game. Such a heads up move. Great 30 for 30

Just a recruiting tidbit, I really hope we get Raekwon McMillan. He reminds me of Brandon Spikes. He's exactly what Urban wants out of his ILBs. He's not an elite athlete, but he's elite at everything else. I won't get too hyped, because the last LB I hyped was Curtis Grant and he hasn't lived up to it. Also want the Glenville trio.

Considering we are losing Shazier, does he not red shirt?

Tough call.
It's either him or Mike Mitchell at the MLB spot next year.

That's a huge steal for Meyer. Not too often a 5 star player from the south is willing to come up north. Going to need these type of recruits to beat the sec, and win a championship.

This is who I think the class closes out with:
CB - Marshon Lattimore S - Erick Smith DT - Thomas Holley TE - Mike Gesicki WR - Johnie Dixon = Decides tomorrow between us and Miami. I'd be a little shocked if he picked Miami over us.
Maybe throw in 1-2 surprises.

Holley is rumored to be deciding between Penn St. and Florida and Gesicki committed to Penn St. back in October.

I don't understand why Josue Matias isn't considered a top OG prospect for FSU. The guy gets out of his stance and downfield better than most TEs. He looks like an absolute stud of a LG to me. I'd be very happy if he comes out to use two picks from 4b to 6 on him and OC/OG Linsley from Ohio State, especially if Mack walks.

You're right. Hopefully we go after Solomon Thomas.

Something to keep in mind- Jacksonville plays Indy week 17. Indy won't have any reason to play starters. They more than likely are stuck as the 4th seed no matter what. Assuming all these teams lose out, it looks like we would still have a chance to leapfrog the Raiders and the Falcons on SOS. The Raiders play SD and DEN. The Falcons play SF and CAR. All four of those teams have very good records and would make both teams SOS increase, while ours should stay the same or decrease slightly with PIT and NYJ. So we very realistically could pick 3rd. Washington is trolling with Shannahan and Houston sucks.

Could happen. Then again, we might win the last two games. In two weeks we will know for sure where we will be drafting and who will be drafting in front of us. At that point we will have some idea on who might be realistic targets.
That is once all the college players declare. No doubt some of these guys wait to look at the teams drafting at the top. If they don't like what they see, it can prompt them to stay in college another season..
If it stayed like that, both Oakland and JVille are probably looking at a QB,,,,couldn't say about Houston, but probably not, and St. Louis with Bradford....hard to say.
If a QB is our target, we could be 3-4 deep in to the position unless we trade up, but no way would I feel good giving up the extra 1st rounder to move up 2-3 slots, even if we got maybe a 3rd rounder in attition to the higher draft position.
An interesting next few weeks.
I don't envy Lombardi right now. Lot's of pressure and this draft looks like a minefield at the top. Especially at the QB position.
I am beginning to think a trade down might not be the best move. There are 3-4 players near the top teams are going to want. If a few QB are selected before our pick, we might get some calls.
If everybody had like minds, we would never learn. GM Strong

If the top teams take a QB ahead of them, the Browns would be best served to take the best WR with their first pick and then have more flexibility to take a QB with the second 1st rnd pick. Possibly even wait until the top of the second round to get a QB.
It all comes down to which teams in between Browns 1st round picks would actually take a QB. Probably not too many. But I bet a lot of them would love that top WR. If we can't get the top QB, we should nab the top WR first.
Lombardi has lots of options here.

I'd be shocked if Houston passed on Teddy. Matt Schaub clearly isn't the guy. Teddy would have been the #1 pick last year. With the emphasis on the QB position a lot of teams will "reach" to get their guy. I don't blame them. You don't pass on a franchise QB. I don't care how great Clowney can be. JJ Watt really isn't helping Houston win a lot of games this year.

Yeah, and just look at their roster. They're talented and they've got vets. More than anything, maybe they should be the ones who really go after Cutler.
Houston + Cutler + a first overall pick or a trade back with multiple 1's is interesting....

I think the odds of Cutler even being on the open market are slim to none. People keep bringing his name up like he's somehow in the mix.
Well as of now he's not and the odds aren't good that he will be.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

I would say that as of now, he is.. until he's tagged or under contract, he is open for off-season consideration.

Was in a mood for a pre-christmas mock:
1a) QB Bortles - UCF (Bridgewater would do too of course in a trade up scenario, not sure yet about Carr) 1b) WR A.Robinson - Penn St. 2) G/T L.Collins - LSU 3a) ILB Skov - Stanford 3b) CB EJ Gaines - Mizzou 4a) FS Ladler - Vandy 4b) RB J.White - Wisconsin 5) RB A.Andrews - W.Kentucky 6) WR TJ Jones - Notre Dame 7) DL G.Smith - Georgia

I like it a lot except two picks. Shane Skov is unathletic and I don't like his chances in pass coverage. Also I would never draft a Wisconsin RB, but Melvin Gordon could be an exception.

Bortles/Robinson or Evans/AJ
Could definitely live with those

The Bears are notorious for not bucking up, on top of the fact that they may need to use their franchise tag elsewhere... It's at least part of the conversation.
