Neither team wants to win this game. Look for Boyd to fumble the snap in victory formation.

Please declare or switch positions Braxton. You still can't throw.

I'll say this, "toughness and moxxy" don't mean squat for a QB if you can't throw accurately. So we can stop with the feel good narratives as a reason to draft someone?

"Well this guy is a leader because he's a 'rah rah' kind of guy!" Who cares? Let his play do the leading.

And Boyd is still just a project to me. I was watching the game drunk, so I can't tell if he was making real pre and post snap reads, but his accuracy was spotty. I didn't really see any legit NFL throws into tight windows (not that our secondary makes that necessary).

I wouldn't feel comfortable rolling the dice on him before round four.

Well, he certainly is not a pro QB, that's for certain.

bad game to evaluate Boyd on as we barely made him throw past the LOS to get big chunks of yards.

We got too cute on offense a few times.

I would have:

--pounded the rock w/Hyde over and over and over.

--run a few more quick plays for Brown and the freshman.

--have Miller either pass it quickly or run immediately. He cannot go through his progressions. Leads to too many sacks. Make one read. If it's not there, tuck it and go.

Defensively? Heck, I think they played hard. They were simply overmatched. We were playing on ice skates most of the night. I did think #34 played pretty good for a back-up. Hopefully, we will address this side of the ball this year. I've never witnessed such a poor OSU defense as this one.

Man, what a game though. So many highs and lows. So many changes in momentum. Great game if you weren't a fan of Ohio State.

Oh well..............

Miller was off target today. He missed a few easy big hitters, especially that one to that TE. We had so many chances to just take the lead and run with it, but we let Clemson stick around. I kind of thought Gution should have stayed in cause it looked like Miller was playing in some big time pain at times, plus; he was way off lol...

Our defensive secondary was shameful. Roby not being there hurt us. Nobody, absolutely noone, from players to coaches - could stop #2. Man the kid destroyed us. He was basically the only offense, other than the run game, that they needed.

Then that muffed punt, c'mon!

Tough game to watch...

That was devastating. We had all of the momentum and what would have been great field position.

I hate losing games because of self-inflicted wounds, and that is exactly what happened last night.

I thought the tape last few minutes of that game for both sides, should be broken in half, run over by a steam roller, and then burned to ashes. That was terrible coaching and terrible execution by the players.

And yea, Philly Brown should know better by now. 9 point lead and you were getting the ball back. Just fair catch the thing.

I was at the game too and he was pretty good, and I don't like country music. Probably just yet another terrible mix in the studio trucks. Award shows are notorious for this....so much so that I can't stand to watch them. Even shows like American Idol when I used to watch it are like this on occasion. The judges are praising them and everything and I thought that they were horrendous. An audio engineer can make you sound terrible with a slight turn of the knob, sometimes on purpose if you are a primadona, and sometimes it is just an in-experienced engineer or someone who decided to go cheap on the headphones.

Hopefully our DC is gone, they kept running that same screen play and getting big yardage out of it. How could we not adjust to that at all? I know that he is a fan favorite but my god, his D has been terrible all season. Giving up over 1,700 yards in the past three games is just straight up pathetic.

Braxton had no business being in that game at the end. I don't know how he looked on TV but he was in obvious pain since after he went down the first time. He never has been a good QB, just a great athlete. Add in a rib injury (what it looked like he kept grabbing) and that great athlete is gone too.

Army All American game at 1 on NBC.

There are 7 Buckeye commits (Johnnie Dixon, Dante Booker, Jalyn Holmes, Marcelys Jones, Demetrius Knox, Curtis Samuel, Damon Webb) and a few Buckeye hopefuls that are playing (Marshon Lattimore, Errick Smith, Malik McDowell, Derrick Nnadi, and Soloman Thomas). Contrary to earlier reports, both Smith and Lattimore are announcing today. I'd be surprised if we don't get one of those defensive lineman.

The other thing I forgot to say is that Sammy Watkins is damn good. Wow. I know the Buckeye D is beat up and not that great to begin with, but that guy is fast AND powerful.

Can we somehow swing something where we get him and a qb? Pretty plz?

Great comeback by Houston. Down 24-0 at half, Jordan Matthews with 150 yds and two TDs. Matthews shut out in third quarter and game is now tied going into the 4th.

Braxton is returning and Shazier is losing.

Just an FYI OSU can add 2 more, maybe 3 to this class. I'd love to get Derrick Nnandi and Soloman Thomas.

If you're interested, watch LG Josue Matias for FSU tonight and tell me if you've ever seen an OG quicker out of his stance.

Miller wouldnt get drafted all that high, IMO, if he were to declare NFL so I think he's making the right decision.

Shazier's departure is really, really going to hurt that Buckeyes linebacking core and the defense in general.

Can the buckeye defense actually get any worse than it already is?

I think their defense will be quite weak again next season. Then the season after that the talent level will take quite a jump on that side of the ball with this years recruits. ]

1) HOU Johnny Manziel, QB Texas A&M
2) STL Teddy Bridgewater, QB Louisville
3) JAX Blake Bortles (lol), QB UCF

4) CLE Derek Carr, QB Fresno St
27) CLE (f/ IND) Allen Robinson, WR Penn St
35) CLE Lamarcus Joyner, CB Florida St
71) CLE Shayne Skov, ILB Stanford
83) CLE (f/ PIT) Carlos Hyde, RB Ohio St
103) CLE Terrence Brooks, FS Florida St
123) CLE (f/ IND) Josue Matias, OG Florida St
138) CLE Corey Linsley, OC Ohio St
177) CLE Preston Brown, ILB Louisville
217) CLE Ethan Westbrooks, DE West Texas A&M
253) CLE (comp) Chandler Jones, WR San Diego St

If the first three go like that (especially if JAX takes Carr over Bortles) then I would probably try to trade back from 4 to 6 or 7, selling off Clowney for an extra 3rd and taking big Gabe for the RG spot.

Defense will be better next year. We recruited HEAVILY in the secondary under Urban. You will see very talented and gifted players in the secondary. Our front 7 will be elite next year.

FSU is as NFL talented as the early 2000's Hurricanes. I'm not joking about that.

I think you need to re-evaluate the early 2000's Hurricanes teams unless you're talking about 2003-2004. 2001-2002 might be the most talented NCAA teams ever composed in the history of college football.

Looking at FSU, I see 20+ guys minimum getting drafted or signed as UDFAs, maybe not this year because some guys are not eligible or will not declare.

I agree the secondary recruiting will pay dividends but will not happen next year. Urban's recruits will mostly be underclassman. Next year will be a lack of expierence then the year after that the talent will start to shine.

These guys are playing like the Browns.

Mistake, mistake, mistake, mistake...

Well, that was a good time for a fake punt. We'll see how this drive ends up. It has to be at least 3 points. Anything less means the game is over (in my book).

I think fans freak out too much when losing big. OSU came back twice, but collapsed at the end of the Sparty and Clemson game. If you have great players they can make great plays to get you back in a game.

Miami Hurricanes had 20 or so guys on their 2001 team drafted in the first round. But yeah, I get your point. Very talented team, but I don't think we'll ever see a more talented team than those Hurricanes.
