I wasn't trying to be negative. You mentioned you "heard" he was doing OK. I was trying to shine some light on his statistics in context of yesterday's game.

Honestly, that's not a really bad team. Vincent Jackson is good. Mike Williams is decent. Donald Penn is a good OT and Carl Nicks is a good OG. They have some good players on defense (McCoy, David, Foster, Revis, Barron). That team is winless because of their bad QB play.

My message is that Glennon hasn't done anything to make them pass on a QB with a top-3 pick.

One thing that was touched upon in this thread that I think makes QB's a lot more likely to be drafted highly is the cost factor.

With the new rookie salaries in place, it's not nearly as expensive to take a gamble on a QB as it was just a couple of years ago.

We saw what a difference it made when Hoyer started and I don't believe there's anything "special" about Hoyer. Just an average QB with a quick release. If you wish to turn a team around who has average or slightly above average talent at most positions, a good QB is the quickest way to do so.

I can't think of anything else you could do with one move that could turn around such a team so quickly. That's why I think you'll see more QB's drafted earlier where teams need a QB.

We have a ways yet to go this season to see where we fall in line in the QB sweepstakes. However, I think it will be much harder to trade up with a team in need of a QB under the new rookie salary deal.

High QB draft picks certainly aren't near the financial crap shoot on the salary cap that they used to be.

I also see that as additional incentive for us to have made the TRich trade. Even if a RB was drafted that highly now, he would cost a fraction of as much. Not that I can see this FO drafting a RB at #3.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

Again, I give the kid the benefit of the doubt, and I think, at draft time, the Bucs organization (sans Schiano at that point) will as well.

Wishful thinking. No third round pick with [Glennon's level of performace] gets the benefit of the doubt if there is a potential franchise QB available.

I agree.

If a new coach comes in, he has no loyalty to a QB from a former regime. Glennon looks like he has some small amount of ability, but is absolutely not a sure thing. He has looked decent in spots, and brutally awful in others. He hasn't done anything that would make a new coach say "Man, this is a kid I want to work with, and can win with", and certainly not if the new coach has a chance at a franchise guy of his own.
