I'd rather not accept any excuses for either of these guys. I don't want them on my team.

Just throwing this out there.....Maybe Jonathan Martin and family watched the PBS concussion special and thought..."hmmmm....how can one get paid without risking my life 15 years from now?"

I'm sick of hearing about this. Even at CNN.com now there are headings of new articles all over. Incognito is a joke and what little reputation of positive he had, if any, is now fully depleted. Dirty player and add to that, locker room cancer.

Yea he was on colin cowherd today. Couldn't believe the stuff he was saying. Just don't understand any of it. He could've lost his sight in one eye. Jason Whitlock nailed it on the head when he said the locker room became a prison yard.

JC 1142 text messages between Incognito and Martin in the last year per: http://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/red...3537_story.htmlOkay, I'm an older guy - these two guys are young enough to be my sons - and I work with younger guys whose eyes never leave their smartphones even when they're talking to you. I don't think I send my wife more than 2 texts a month ("Pizza tonight?") so I get that there's a cultural divide between youngers and olders when it comes to cellphone communication. But I don't understand that many messages between two dudes.

it averages out to 3 text messages a day. how many were reply-to-all types on the team/position group?
i don't have that many total in a year, but I think most people their age it is quite common.

I'm a month younger than Incognito and I don't send my wife half that many texts.

1000 texts isn't that hard to hit in a month granted you want to talk to that many people, but who wants to talk that much? But sending 3 txts to a guy per day is unheard of.

Ha! I wish you would. Maybe then I could get some time to myself. Let's be honest, though, I would probably just get on here more often.

I dunno, you figure, they go back and forth. And not everyone texts the same way. For example my best buddy gets all annoyed because I'll text something like "Yeah" then follow up right after with a statement. Rather than combining them. When I was living near him, I bet we'd go through 1000 texts a year, easy. Now I just call him every two weeks or so. But we live like 800 miles apart. So sad.
As for me and my lady, I have no way of keeping track per month (we both have iphones, so our txts are imessages and don't get counted on the bill), but when I did, we easily went to 1000, and then we'd start emailing eachother instead of texting

It is all about how much information a text conveys vs. a conversation and whether or not they had some day, or many, where they texted well above their average.
For example if you take an hour long conversation on the phone and break it down into texts that is a lot of texts. Enough to skew the average dramatically.
I don't think 3 a day is that many at all. Here is an example for their workday.
Incognito: Finishing up in the weight room what you doing? Martin: With the trainers working on my ankle. Martin: Should be done in 20. Incognito: Chipotle? Martin: sounds good Incognito: IM GONNA MURDER YOUR ENTIRE FAMILY YOU !@#@! %!.
Simple to see they can do 3 every day no problem.

Report: Richie Incognito, Dolphins players harassed team staffer - CBSSports.com http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/eye-on-foot...ed-team-stafferThe troubles of the Miami Dolphins are well documented. And now they extend beyond merely the alleged harassment of a female employee and the alleged bullying of Jonathan Martin: according to a report Richie Incognito and at least one other Dolphins player harassed a Dolphins team employee. Jason Cole of the National Football Post reports that Incognito and "at least one other" Dolphins player "mocked the ethnic background of a team staff member and made crude jokes about the staff member's wife." Additionally, Cole reports "Incognito would sometimes dress in garb from the staff member's culture and then make profane jokes about that culture" and that another player "joined in on the antics, creating an extremely uncomfortable environment for the staff member." The worst part, though? Cole's report that "Incognito said on a number of occasions that the staff member's wife had sexual relationships with several members of the team." Needless to say, none of those (alleged) things are remotely appropriate for a professional work environment. Cole reports that "team staff members" saw this behavior and that it went about without being stopped by team staff or the front office. NFL investigator Ted Wells recently met with Martin and is reportedly seeking answers from other members of the Dolphins offensive line as to what went on in the locker room. Owner Stephen Ross recently said he was "appalled" and was clearly upset by the recent developments surrounding his team. It's not likely that these recent ones will make him feel any better.

Interesting.
How does a staff member complain?
Who do they fire, Incognito and the other player or the staff member.
If true, it's all about the power and who had it in this instance.

Incognito will be used for decades by HR departments as a walking, talking, living, breathing definition of a "hostile work environment"...
