Thanks for the input. I got stuck on one level for like an hour, because I kept getting bitten by the clickers... I believe it was the train station part, still early in the game. and there must be 5 or 6 of them in this area, with one or two infected ones... Even if I got past the first few, the girl with me would end up shooting at one of them, and then it would just be a matter of time before they found me.
Maybe I'll give it another shot, I have to get off NHL first, that game is damn addicting. Maybe the best sports game of the last few years...
Just beat that part! Loving Last of Us right now. Recently bought a PS3 and it's pretty exciting. Got a Vita too now, as having the PS+ account just makes it all worth it. I've been mostly an Xbox/Xbox360 guy as of recent, but decided that I'd get PS3 because of the exclusives. Brought my xbox to the tugboat, and I've got a bunch of games to beat between the systems. I think I'll get a PS4 next, but for now, there's plenty of PS3 and Xbox games I still haven't gotten to. I sort of find that the graphics just aren't as important anymore. The games already look good either way, sure Killzone 4 looks great on PS4, but it's not like Sega Genesis to Playstation. Games are realistic enough, gameplay/story are what's the most important part. If Mass Effect 1 or Bioshock wasn't released until today, they'd still be good enough to win Game Of The Year or at least be nominated. But that's just my opinion.
Anyway, at that part, I found that the best move is to get as many shivs as you can and sneak up on those guys. Get the first one you see, then sneak up on the guy on the left, silently choke him out. Then run back behind the desk where you start in (there's a shiv on the left in one of the lockers) then enter the main room, get one of the clickers. Then run away again. When the infected see you, I usually beat them with a stick, then run away. If Tess gets grabbed, I shoot the clicker in the head, which gets her room for an escape. Then I hide behind the desk again. And I continue until I get all of them. Slow, methodical, steady.
Took me like 3 tries though

If it's the part that I think you guys are talking about, you can shiv the first one, then hop through that window on the right and not have to kill another clicker, just sneak through the rest of the area.

You gotta kill those guys though. I'm not gonna let the next poor SOB die because I'm to lazy to kill a rabid creature

I play Chess with a good friend. We are equals so both win and lose.....and I play a Tiger Woods, Augusta 12 version. It's to the point I beat him more often. It would probably work that way in real life too.

I just picked up Rocksmith for xbox360. I consider myself a novice guitarist, I've been playing for several years after playing drums for 25 years, and have been playing bass for my church or the last 3. Put in last night for the first time and played maybe 60-90 mins (I didn't get home until 9:30). Took a bit to get used to the string, fret info flying at me. Started with a couple songs I actually know on guitar already, thought it might help the learning curve, but it doesn't really, maybe a little compared to someone who has never played guitar. So I cranked up "You Really Got Me" the Kinks version. It starts you out with single notes here and there, not necessarily in rhythmic strumming with the song, more like a root note at a change (playing bass this was familiar territory for me). I did OK (92% accuracy), as I get accustomed to the system and style of play. Each string is assigned a color, you have the string horizontal across the bottom, and the frets in a perspective view flying at you (ala guitar hero). Checking both seemed a little cumbersome, but noticed I was improving as I continued. With each attempt at the song, they start to throw more notes at you, even started seeing a few power chords show up. Now one thing I'm not sure I cared for was the choice of frets for the notes. For instance they chose to play a D5 at the 10th fret of the low E, where I would normally play it on the 5th fret of the A. BUT, I did start playing it with my choice on the A string, and most times it accepted it as accurate. I was a little concerned about how much leeway you have in the frequencies it's picking up to determine the note. After a few rounds with "You Really Got Me", I decided it was time to move up, and chose another song am already familiar with playing, and chose "Cemetery gates" by Pantera. Again, 1 root note here and there to begin, next time added more, and so on. My accuracy dropped to 83%, which I attribute to the solo portion which playing a note here and there for the solo was a bit odd, and really threw me off, particularly when playing 1 note on 15th fret 1st string, then 9th fret on 3rd string with nothing between, but knowing there's a scale in between that gets you from one to the next, but not having it in the game (at least not at the song level I was at yet). All in all I found the game fun, looked like there was maybe 20-24 songs in the list to work on. I'll have to see if there is a way to advance my position in the songs initially so I don't have to go through the 1 note hunt and peck levels. During setup it asked for experience level, I chose Novice, maybe I should have chosen intermediate, but based on the descriptions I felt novice was my level for the game. Going to have to use the Jackson to play though, standing in front of the TV with the Les Paul or 90 mins started to take its toll.

I love Rocksmith. I need to play it more than I do. I heard Rocksmith2 is even better.
I am absolutely a novice at guitar so this is a wonderful thing. I just need to get myself a guitar. I'm using my son's 3/4 guitar for it.

That is one of the game modes that someone created within the game.

I'm (more or less) reading every article available on the next iteration of Mass Effect. Bioware is starting with the "pre-teasers". Supposedly, it's already gone through its first beta test, and could be available this calendar year. If it's a next-gen exclusive, I'm probably going to buy an XBOne. Other than that, I just "beat" Assassin's Creed 4. I say "beat" because that ending was so weak, I'm not sure it qualifies. If a game doesn't have an ending, does that mean I never beat it? Not sure what I'm going to play next. I never got around to the most recent Halo, so I could pick that up. Any suggestions from my fellow gaming dawgs? Games I've recently enjoyed: Assassin's Creed 2, 3, 4 Mass Effect 1, 2, 3 (obviously, poor endings do not throw me off) Batman (Asylum, City, Origins) Skyrim (I am a little leery of diving into another game of this magnitude)

Borderlands is one of those games that's actually pretty deep with the content (not Mass Effect or anything like that) but it doesn't really feel that way.

You can get A LOT of gameplay with GTA V too. And not just boring game play "do this and blah blah" - it's actually pretty fun. Rockstar is a superb game development group. Trevor Phillips will make you LAUGH hardcore too!

I've played the first Borderlands. It was good, but I kinda got tired of it after a little while.
GTA5 might be a good option. I haven't played any of the GTA's, but it might be something I could get into.

I would also strongly suggest GTA V, if anyone hasn't played that one.
A question to anyone that played Ryse, How is that? that the only game that has me considering getting the next gen at this point. Otherwise I figure i'd wait till more titles are out.
a few people have mentioned to me that the lego games are a blast and that they are not just for kids. is there any truth to that, i am really hesitant to pull the trigger on lego's but the new Marvel one seem a bit interesting with all the character options.

My brother was telling me about Ryse. He says it is pretty fun but very short, has a lot of QTEs, and it is kind of a button masher.
That to me is sad because it could have been really awesome.

Buy ryse because my name is in the credits But ya its definitely a bit of a masher... Graphically it looks the most next-gen though.

GTA V was good, but I don't think it was better than Tomb Raider or The Last Of Us.
Right now I'm playing Uncharted 1 (Just beat inFamous the other day) and I like both of those games a lot.
Really depends on what you like though. I've never been a huge fan of the GTA games. I don't like the mechanics that much. The shooting mechanics are bad, and it's hard to see your aiming crosshairs, even when you change your settings so you get a circle around your little dot.
That and I just don't care much for driving games. Liked the story a lot, and the game has plenty of replay value. Plus I love being able to pick it up and just cause some chaos. That's fun.
But overall, to me, if someone hasn't played Tomb Raider or Last Of Us, those are better games. May be not better bang for your buck, but better games. Although Last Of Us took me awhile to beat. +20 hours probably. And I'm one of those guys, once I beat a game, i'm done. I don't play again. Beat GTA V (did some side missions in the game as well) and haven't played it since.

thanks for the input on Ryse guys. I probably still wait on next gen for a bit. I already have a guilty please buttom masher that I'm a closet fan of.(dynasty Warriors) but we don't talk about that . Actually love the classic novel that the game is based on so that is what the draw is mostly.

Aside from the storyline and voice acting, Saints Row has been arguably better than GTA. SR the 3rd was so much fun.

True, but it might even include those that could be played indoors, like card names (pinochle was big in our family) and board games like Monopoly, Risk, Sorry, etc.
The outdoor games usually only lasted 3 seasons of the year. The indoor games were for winter.

Well see, that indicates a straight up thread hijacking, the title in the thread says 'currently'.
I'm unable to find these parts for the current gen systems, only 1985 and below.

Amazon just shipped my Tomb Raider, Definitive edition for the PS4 for me. If you only play third person games, like me, then you may be limited to what's available on the newer consoles until more games are released. Tomb Raider just released today (the 28th) so if you're a third person guy with the new consoles - it may be worth taking a peak at!
