I saw he posted more stuff on Twitter the past couple days. I stopped following him, and hopefully the Browns just cut him now and be done with it.

For those that can't see the pic, it's because it was deleted, and then I think he deleted his account... Not sure b/c I stopped following him. I've limited my Browns follow to players that are relevant... Other than Jason Pinkston, because he's hilarious.
If you follow Deadspin on twitter, that got a screen grab. Basically it's a picture of a table with a blunt and a bag of green next to his cell phone.
It's not the first time he's done this on social media.

Cut him.
They probably will and won't have to pay him another dime either. Amazing how these morons manage to throw away millions of dollars of income.
I hope Josh Gordon is watching what's happening.

Oh Brother.. how does a guy go from being a winner in Miami to a complete dolt. How in the hell does that happen?

Looks like Bess may have deleted his page. As others mentioned, it was another picture of a small pile of weed on his table. The tweet from Nate Ulrich stated that "The Browns are aware of Davone's pictures posted and are handling the issue internally."
Hopefully, the Browns can get out the contract without a cap hit. We'll see.

That's the pic. Meh, they should legalize it and unban it. I don't see the big deal in using it. As for the team, they should probably cut him if they want to send a message.

your personal opinions of the substance shouldn't come into play though. not only is he dumb enough to risk millions of dollars by using an ILLEGAL substance that is also banned and tested for by his employer, but he is dumb enough to flaunt that usage on a public forum.

I don't really care that he smokes tbh. He didn't randomly start smoking this season, he's probably smoked his entire NFL career. I'd rather have a player who smokes than drinks and goes to clubs.
The problem I have is that he had a bad season and is compounding it with this stupidity. Why? What could you possibly gain from posting pictures of weed to twitter? He's clearly having some sort of melt down and the team needs to get him help.

I don't care either, and I think a lot of people would be surprised how many of these guys are smokers...
Rules are rules though, and in Davone's case, why post these pics? It's almost like Constanza driving around dragging the world series trophy behind him, is he trying to get fired?

What message is going to be received? If you're having mental health or some sort of serious issue in your life, the team is going to cut you and bail? I'm not sure that's the message they should send. I think they are doing the right thing by trying to get to the bottom of it. At least they can face the players and tell them they did everything they could if they do end up cutting him.

That using weed is not tolerated on the team no matter how much we invested in you. This is meant to Gordon, but I think he learned his lesson when placed on the trade block.

Agree.... He's still a young guy...If he's willing to accept help...then good chances it will work out for him...It's the ones that want no help who have less chances to change....

Does this not bother anyone as in what the heck was Lomardi thinking bringing him here...was this well known then - in other words, I just learned how to freaking text so I don't have a clue about tweaking linkydink stuff... was this up over a year ago all did this all surface lately???
Is this a red mark against Lombardi? Not accusing more asking and thought it was weird nobody asking the question even I hate Lombardi guys???
Weed is wrong he definitely has a problem but we aren't talking Cocaine, Heroine or crack, even the white collar stuff like Oxyclean.
This seems to be a choice of life he has made not a drug path to destruction do we owe him to get better...I mean if its a problem problem I hear he has to hit rock bottom before anyone can help...trying to helping him before that will go under the realm of "Enabling".
We should help him expediently get to that rock bottom and release him!

I think it depends on the player, but I will say that the players are all grown adults and the "sending messages" is what you do to children.

I'd bet Davone had a bodysuit on while taking that picture.

I completely disagree. Companies "send messages" all the time, it's a very effective way of getting peoples attention.. not just children....

I never liked the expression or the thought of sending a message. I think you need to have rules with consequences and enforce them consistently. If you do that, you don't need to send a message.

It's semantics... I agree with you really. I suppose some people would define "sending a message" as doing something they wouldn't normally do, like make a punishment more harsh, so people get that you are serious... if you define it that way, then no, I'm not all about that unless you have some really serious circumstances.... however, just applying the rules as they are written, applying them fairly, punishing as required, praising when warranted.. that also sends a message..

The guy clearly has mental health issues. If I were the team, I'd hold off on cutting him until after offering him help.
As for the weed...like I said with Gordon, get high everyday for all I care. Just beat the test. Don't get caught.

I see what looks like it could be a glass of water, an ashtray, a TV with the Godmothers on it, a 5 hour energy drink, an I-Phone, Cigar and something else that I can't make out.., Could be dope. Not sure and the words "we da real dons" or something like that.
Not sure what any of that means., Guess I'm not hip enough., or not hip at all.

But, as an organization, they can only control what message is sent. They can't concern themselves too much with how it's taken by each player.
