I just hope they start to wins some games man. Not one televised Browns game Down Under last year and they showed a minimum of 3 games per weekend.

if the Browns can start off the season 1-0. That would be huge. That win there, they could try to FINALLY get those TWO wins in a row... Im still waiting for that day.

Think Jamal Lewis will be pumped up for this game? Give this guy an offensive line and he could dish out some serious punishment. A win in the opener could do for the Browns of 2007 what a win in the 2006 opener did for the Saints.

i never buy into the toughest/easiest...those are based on 06 performance, and fortunes change dramatically...at the start of 06, how nice was it to see the Saints on your schedule in December?...bet by gametime, those opponents were a lot less exicted...

the only thing that bugs me is what i said...we shouldn't have to play all 3 late-seaosn divisional games on the road...that's just not a good breakdown...of course, from a potential marketing poit-of-view, i guess it may make sense...the common opinion being that the other 3 teams are going to be in competition for playoff appearances, so if they're gonna televise a game against the Browns, at least it will be with the competitive team's home atmosphere...

I don't know that playing on the road late in the year is a bad thing. Unlike the Browns of old, I don't think we win many games in cold and snow, our team seems to like sunny warm weather better.

I say we just surprise them all with Adrian Peterson.. he will run right pass their entire defense.. regardless of the o-line.. he can find holes.. and he can break tackles...

I think he would do what Bush did for the Saints.. get them national attention!!! and we need it!! plus the wins..

Their regular-season schedule, released Wednesday, calls for them to play each of their rivals in the AFC North in the first month of the season. And each game is in Cleveland.

This is fantastic!

1) The opener against Pittsburgh is great. We get the home field, Pitt is slipping, and with a little luck everyone is healthy.

2) A schedule heavy on Sept. games? As a season ticket holder I love this! Warm weather, games that still matter (can't tell you how tired I am of seeing a division game at home on Dec 31 for a 4 win Browns club)

3) RAC's best chance to start out hot. The Steelers are in decline, the Bengals are way over-rated still, and the Raiders are a team we should beat 5-out-of-5. Baltimore will be tough this year but with good play the "Overlooked Browns" could start out the season 3-1 and get some division games under their belt.

God I love April optimism!

Hopefully opening day tickets will be very hard for anyone to get, esp steeler fans. Every season ticket holder will be at this one so it shouldn't be an issue.

I was watching ESPN and they said the Steelers have a very easy opening schedule.. and they should come out with a Win...

In my head.. they must have not watched last season..

the first game.. the Steelers barely won with a comeback victory.. the 2nd game.. well.. we didnt have Frye starting.. He is more prepared for the Steelers than anyone else... and Parker had a good game.

For those interested, there's a 20 minute vid by Zack Jackson, Steve King & Jeff Wolcoff on the home page discussing the schedule and the various games in reasonable depth. The piece includes an interview with RAC.

that's on the front office more than anything (I understand you guys are joking). But for those that aren't when reading this, if the FO throws Crennel out after 3 years all the foundation is gone. We are going into the 3rd year of a 3-4. From what I recall, in year #1 Fisk, Stewart and Roye were the only 2 with experience in it. Year 2, we replaced Fisk with Washington who has the experience and added Mcginest. We then had 2 rookies start at LB with no 3-4 experience, and 1 with no LB experience. These guys are being brought up in the system properly. That's what we need to look at. This team had zero to start with in 2005. In 2006 the building reall began. We were hampered by 14 players on IR. I hope the FO isn't as fickle as the fans who only look at wins and losses and don't look at the whole picture. Have there been mistakes? YES. Of course their have - it's a young regime. What makes you think that another new coach, philosophy and regime will make the difference? Let it build. We have a lot of youth and the talent pool is 10 fold of when we started, stopping now means we go backwards 2 years and pray for a quick turnaround. That's illogical. For those who don't buy into the "instilling a new system takes time." If you think it should be quick then ask yourself, "Why do they teach grade-schoolers simple math? Why don't they start with triganometry?"

I think rac's only chance of surving is to spend every waking moment working on that defense. It is why he was hired, that is his bread and butter. The offense should show some improvement but still most likely a be a bottom feeder O. The D has to be his focus to remain HC. They have to simply be tougher both physically and mentally.

I am not a fan of rac and if he was fired tommorow, i would be going woo hoo. I make no bones about it but i still want to see the guy succede but he is going to have to give chud the O and take over the d for that to happen.

I have always said that RAC has to get to 8-8 (or damn close) to keep his job this year. I stand by that, unless they come outta the chute looking as bad as they did the beginning of last year. Then all bets are off. He could get canned by week 5 if that is the case.

2-4 after the Miami game might save his butt heading into the game with the Rams...anything less and he is done.

What foundation?

All of Crennel's pet coaches are gone. His foundation is gone, but if he's fired, it's not the teams foundation that's cracked.

There's nothing that says we couldn't bring in an offensive head coach that leaves the 3-4 defense to Grantham or some other coordinator.

There's nothing that says we couldn't bring in a defensive coach who has a background in the 3-4.

There's nothing that says the 3-4 defensive players that we've acquired wouldn't grow if RAC is gone.

In short, RAC isn't the foundation. The PLAYERS are the foundation. RAC has made a bunch of mistakes. It's not as though the team is holding him back. He has his own cross to bare.

Quote:

Balogny.

If we fire RAC, it won't mean anything in regards to setting this team back. In fact, RAC has done absolutely nothing to distinguish himself as a coach, and I'm not talking wins and losses here.

The bottom line is that if this team isn't at least pushing 8-8 by mid year RAC's gone, and rightfully so. Quite fankly, he's starting to look more like the Dave Mcginness's and Dick Lebeau's of the world; coaches that are great coordinators but poor head coaches. No, he hasn't had much to work with, but he's dropped the ball with what has had to work with. His faith in MO is a horrible indictment against his judgement. I thought he should have been fired after the year, but it speaks to Savage's desire for continuity that he kept him. If we do fire RAC during the season, we'll have given him plenty of time. He'll have earned his pink slip, and no, it won't mean we're going backwards two years

And I thought about you while I was golfing *L* I'm going again today around 4pm. It's going to be 82 today

You suck, I'm covered in poiison ivy and on prednisone and it's 52 degrees and you are golfing! Hit another into the woods for me.

I see what you are saying. I guess my fear is the close tie of Savage to Crennel - the media got in my head.

Please explain.

Do you mean you're afraid that if RAC goes it'll mean Savage goes as well? I'm confused on what you mean by their close tie........

I did the poison ivy thing last year. Got it all over my face. I looked like a fat 4-month old chinese baby

On Savage - yes. My fault. I keep thinking if RAC goes, so does Savage - that would be awful.

Sorry guys.. I just don't see it. Davis would STILL be here if he didn't quit on his own. The media pressure wore on him. Randy is NOT the type of owner that fires RAC this year and Phil won't do it alone. Unless Romeo quits...he's here at least all year no matter the record. Randy has said time and time and TIME again, this team needs long term stability. We have a good start but it's only JUST begun. Randy knows it, Phil knows and now YOU know it.

It's hard to use that as an example to prove Savage won't can RAC when it was Savage who pulled the plug on Mo. Savage also could have continued to play the continuity card by offering the job to Davidson, but he didn't.

I believe that, quietly, RAC is on the hot-seat. When I say quietly, I mean in Cleveland. Outside of the city, he's viewed as a dead duck.

He's going to be handed some solid draft picks and has a revamped O-line that actually looks pretty good to me right now, Necktie Shaffer not withstanding. Keeping the team on a .500 clip is now a requirement, not a hope. If RAC can't do it, I see him being axed.

SOUP, historically speaking, GM's in this league get two HC changes before they get axed. If RAC goes, Savage will still keep his job. Don't worry about that.
