But TJ is such a horrible, worthless player that lacks coverage skills and sucks against the run and this-n-that is the big vibe I get here from people - so why is he on that list?

In all seriousness, good for them guys. All-pro, the best of the best!

theres a lot of guys on that list that shouldn't be .. TJ is just one of many .... Haden is another ... no way that dude is one of the top CB's in the league ...

Peterson, Suh are both jokes also ...

I'm sure all u guys are gonna have a ball with this ... between Ward and all these Pro Bowlers and we couldn't win ... I can hear it now ...

so knock yourselves out and have fun ... in 3 years we will still stink cause of the DA's your backing and sticking up for ... only problem is that won't be any fun cause we will all be in the same crap ass boat were in now ..

FACT IS ... if U guys can't see how wrong this was on every level imaginable ... it just proves u don't know SQUAT about football ...

I do got one question for all of u DA lovers .... if we only have 2 pro bowlers next year what will u say then?????? ... cause u obviously think the coaching had NO AFFECT on these guys improving and making the pro bowl ... NOOOOO ... all u menzas think is that the poor coaching was responsible for our second half of the season collapse .... HOW CONVIENANT OF U ....

Gonna stay out of the debate, but Ward being on there is ridiculous.

Haden seems about right for second team, he's a front runner but he has all pro ability.

Gordon over AJ Green is unthinkable since they are hosting a playoff game and we won 4 games....

DA - Dumb A**, do not want to insult the three stooges by using that moniker to label the three headed monster that is our ownership / FO.

damn, browns fans can't be happy with anything.

CLEARLY the rest of the NFl, national media, players and coaches think differently when it comes to Ward.

you guys need to go ahead and eat crow, Ward is a top 10, maybe top 5 SS in this league. period.

just because you guys refuse to believe it doesn't make it any less true.

Gordon of AJ green makes sense, its about his individual stats, and if anything, makes gordon better this year seeing as how he has 3 different QB's throwing the rock, missed 2 games, and has faced more doubles, on top of breaking nfl records.

man, be happy. jesus.

Ward got eaten alive in coverage this year. I can't see how it's argued.

Sorry, I can't be happy with racking up big numbers in garbage time of a beat down or a game we lose. I can't understand how losing, no matter the fashion can be something I would be happy about.

I seem to recall guys named Jerome Harrison and Josh Cribbs who broke records for us in trash games that didn't mean a thing.

Total non-sequitur.

Andrew Whitworth should be ahead of Joe Thomas, they're hosting a playoff game.

Jason Kelce should be ahead of Alex Mack, they're hosting a playoff game.

Umm....for Josh Cribbs it did. 3x Pro Bowl and 2x All-Pro nods, NFL all-decade team plus a heavy contract extension.

To bad the new KO rules subsequently made him worthless.

josh cribbs went to pro bowls, so i guess it did, huh?

i mean bro, if thats the case, than KC shouldn't have had what? 7, 8 pro bowlers last year and they were 2-14?

Gordon hasn't been racking up those numbers in garbage time. the vikings game was garbage time? bills? NE? KC? i can go on and on.

and ward absolutely did not get eaten alive in coverages this year, how many times does the stats and even the eye test have to prove that?

the few good players we have that we can build off of, and you guys are pissed that they are actually good compared with the rest of the league?

thats simply amazing, maybe we don't deserve a winning football program when we can't even support the few good players we got.

I thought he had just copied and pasted something from a few years back when Derek Anderson was the QB and went to the pro bowl. It kind of fits, honestly.

I did think of Derek Anderson..........I thought of dumb ass........and then I was trying to think if we had a D.A. on our team, since Anderson isn't here, and ..............

Well, I forgot that he had said in a different thread that he wouldn't belittle the stooges by calling our front office "stooges".

It all makes sense to me now.

Yeah, AJ Green wasn't all that great this year (I should know I had him on fantasy). Individual awards aren't based on team success. They are based on the individual.

Gordon was arguably the best wideout in the game last year, and to think he pretty much did it with mediocre quarterbacks.

Thats not true about AJ. He was very good this year. I also had him on fantasy.

I did think AJ was poised to take the mantle of best WR from Johnson this year and he didn't do that.

And it brings me great joy...and dare I say it...that Gordon is actually better than Green. Green cannot make the plays against JAX and NE that Gordon did. Probably very few people can. We have a very special talent in Gordon.

Cleveland Browns enjoy best All-Pro showing in 60 years

BEREA, Ohio – The Browns, who didn’t win a game after Nov. 3, are enjoying their best season for individual honors in 60 years.

The franchise placed five players on the Associated Press All Pro team, released Friday. The sum tied for the most in the NFL with San Francisco and Kansas City and marked the Browns best showing since 1953.

Wide receiver Josh Gordon and left tackle Joe Thomas led the Browns, earning first-team honors, while center Alex Mack, safety T.J. Ward and cornerback Joe Haden were voted onto the second team by a national panel of 50 media members. It’s quite a haul for a club that finished 4-12, lost its last seven games and fired first-year coach Rob Chudzinski.

During a news conference to announce Chudzinski’s dismissal, Browns CEO Joe Banner mentioned the individual talent the team is assembling as a drawing card for coaching candidates.

“We have a strong nucleus of talent on the team, including five Pro Bowl players,” Banner said. “We are going to have a significant amount of cap room, a lot of draft picks and really an excellent opportunity for someone looking for a head-coaching opportunity.”

Gordon, Thomas, Mack, Haden and tight end Jordan Cameron were named to the Pro Bowl with Ward serving as an alternate.

What Banner did not mention in Monday’s news conference is the Browns must re-sign two of those players. The post-season awards for Mack and Ward only strengthen their bargaining power as the team must decide whether to sign them before the March 11 deadline or allow them to become free agents.

The last time the Browns had five players named All Pro they went 11-1 and lost to the Detroit Lions in the 1953 championship game. Those honored that year were all future hall of famers: Otto Graham, Frank Gatski, Lou Groza, Len Ford and Bill Willis.

It’s premature to say where the careers of the current crop take them, but Thomas seems like a lock for Canton. The left tackle is a six-time All Pro, including four first-team selections. He hasn’t missed a snap since the Browns drafted him in 2007. His stretch of 6,923 consecutive offensive snaps is the longest in the NFL.

The other four Browns are making their first appearance on the All Pro list.

In his second season, Gordon led the NFL in receiving yards (1,646), while playing in just 14 contests due to a season-opening, two-game drug ban. His 117.6-yard per game average is the sixth highest in NFL history. He established multiple franchise records for receiving.

Haden finished second on the team with four interceptions – including his first pick six –and according to STATS LLC, his 20 passes defensed tied for third in the NFL.

Mack, who’s never missed an offensive snap since being drafted in 2009, was the NFL’s fourth-ranked center according to ProFootballFocus.com

Ward registered a career-high 129 tackles and ran back two turnovers for touchdowns this season. The 2010 draft pick was the fourth-ranked safety, according to ProFootballFocus.com.

A complete list of 2013 All Pros can be found here.

Too bad our coaching staff couldn't develop players. Obviously we had so many more All Pro players last year.

Yes it is to bad...we knew what we had in the guys mentioned... And they had potential...And it was soon to break out and be noticed more except for JT....

I'm even impressed with Mingo....Here's a little tid bit some may know and some not.. just to share..

When compared to the rookie seasons of the five players who registered the most sacks in the NFL this year, Mingo, the No. 6 overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, had the most productive first year.... Mingo

It was guys like Bess..Little..TR.. That could have had a more improved year...That's where the lack of developement was shown.....

Your right... we had Phil Dawson....And all from a previous regime....

The one and most important thing to me as far as what the coaching staff could have developed... was how to win..

Yup. And next year, with BETTER coaches and all the draft picks, we'll be AWESOME, right?

I know you well enough by now to know that if we win 5 games next year, you'll be harping about how you were right. If we win 10 games next year, you'll probably explode with your "I told you so" crap. And if we win less than 5 games, you'll be Mr. Excuse.

Yep, no QB means no offense. The fact that we had that many All Pro and Pro Bowl players is incredible .... especially given our QB situation.

No it isn't Lair.

You are aptly named. Seems you only come out of your lair 6-7 times a year. If I am lucky I'll catch your March post.

Amazingly enough they figured out how to get NOT 1 ... BUT 2 RECIEVERS TO THE PRO BOWL WITHOUT A QUARTERBACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd say that's GREAT COACHING .....

two can play at this BS ass game ...

U guys (not U Lair .. U may be one of them but u don't post enough for me to know .. *L*) ... think your all slick .... well your teaming up with what is ONCE AGAIN THE LAUGHING STOCK OF THE NFL .....

and were the joke of the nfl for A VERY GOOD REASON .... these guys may be able to win DESPITE THEMSELVES ...

and the fact u menzas actually think with what went on here this year that ANYONE COULD HAVE HAD THIS TEAM IMPROVE AS THE YEAR WENT ON ..... your either are not paying attention, have an agenda or don't know a thing about football ... sorry ... BUT ITS TRUE!!!!!

I have yet to read a story or watch any show on any network where the analysts have had one even remotely good thing to say about what we just did ... NOT ONE ... ANYWHERE .... and I get there wrong all the time ... but I have never seen THIS TYPE OF CONSENSUS among all the bozos ... NEVER ...

naaa ... keep playing your stupid ass games .... and keep defending the DA's ...

hey bro .... I hope all is well my friend ... man .... I long for the days when we were excited no matter what happened ... god man ... can u believe we have sucked for this long??? .. F'N BRUTAL!!!! its been a long ass time since we met at that game ... a long ass time ..... or was it Berea at tc ... crap .. its been so long I can't even remember where we met ... *L* ...

If you think back hard enough.. we actually did our first face-to-face at training camp.. and remember we did the Steeler's game in my seats up top....

I believe it was the 2000 season, if I remember correctly!

Do you remember who else was with us?

As i said, too bad they couldn't figure out how to win. We were in position to win more games and blew it.

Look, I am not happy with the dismissal, but I am also not upset. Bottom line is we DIDN'T improve as the season went along and you know it. We should have won 3-4 more games.

I also don't agree with the Laughing stock claim, and hey, since when did you start caring about what other people thought? In your absence have you been studying Zen and mindful living or something?

peen, I understand what you're saying.

But can't you also understand those that feel if your FO doesn't give a HC a QB or running game to win with, that it's simply not justified to expect a HC to win without at least some of those pieces to work with?

I believe that's where I'm at. I feel like had Hoyer of stayed healthy and played at the same level he was playing at, the story would have been a very different one. and that somehow, the fact Hoyer went down, Chud was used as some kind of scape goat.

I'm just perplexed at how people expected more with no running game and no QB. Going through three QB's in a year can't be blamed on a HC.

I don't believe any true evaluation of Chud could have possibly have been reached given the circumstances he endured.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

So, your interpretation rests on the premise that Chud was used as a scapegoat. Can you give a plausible reason why? Seems to me a scapegoat was unnecessary given that most observers assumed 2013 was an evaluation year and would have therefore been willing to cut the FO some slack for the W/L record. So, there was no need for a scapegoat. Furthermore, isn't the point of using a scapegoat to avoid taking blame for something? Considering the reaction by fans and media to Chud's firing, how could he possibly have been a scapegoat? The scapegoat ploy is supposed to be successful; this one wasn't. I suppose you could say that the FO really thought it would work, and it's backfiring on them. But this interpretation is just as implausible because it assumes the FO was completely ignorant of what was about to happen when firing a coaching staff after a single year having had told everyone they were here for the long haul. Conclusion: your scapegoat interpretation doesn't hold up under scrutiny.

Sure I understand it. That's why I said I am not happy with the dismissal. But....we didn't improve. We regressed as the season went along, and Campbell didn't play what I would call poorly. As for the running game, it could be argued it got better without TR....but lets just call that a wash.

I like Chud just fine, but we pretty much stunk, and I don't blame that on poor QB play. At least when Weeden wasn't in...and, we don't know everything that happened in Berea.

Anyway, it doesn't bother me. I am at a point in life where it's just win. Change coaches every year if need be until we start showing something. I have zero patience any longer. I'd have fired him too. I would also can the others next year if it doesn't get better.

This move was a clear message to Banner and Lombardi. It might be sold that those guys were on board with this, but this was mostly Haslam. He sat there week afyer week and saw first year head coaches win.....some with less talent, yet we didn't win as many as last year.

Out with the trash. Chud wasn't so great to be sticking up for.....great guy, probably got a raw deal, but he has several millions of dollars in future payments unless they just pay him off in lump. Sorry, can't feel all that sorry for that.

If everybody had like minds, we would never learn.

Excellent post, but it won't hold water w/the "we hate the FO" crowd. Logic and reason are not their guide. It's all about hate, revenge, and I told you so................
