However, from this game ...... not Philip Rivers ..... please. lol

He has a fumble and an INT in short duty so far.

Maybe Rivers is trying his best to beat Derek Anderson as the worst Probowl performance in recent history. He still has a couple of int's to go though.

lol true that.

to be fair though, Deon made sure to draft one nasty D line.

They said that was his 1st priority.

Josh Gordon with the TD!

I think they should make this more casual for Al Michaels and Chris Collinsworth by giving them Hawaiian button up shirts.

Anyone know where our players were picked?

I am guessing Thomas, Haden, and Gordon were picked early.

Cameron and Mack in the middle.

Ward late.

Anyone know for sure?

They picked interior lines on day 1. I believe Mack was the 3rd center taken.

Hayden was the 2nd CB picked, 4th overall. Thomas was the 1st tackle picked, 6th overall. Gordon was the 2nd receiver picked, 8th overall. Cameron was one of 2 TE's that were assigned late in the draft. Ward went fairly late but he was picked.

I should say that I was going from memory. The 3 Browns that went to Rice were all in a row and in the top 10 for sure. I believe I have their numbers right. Thomas was picked way before any other tackle.

Side note.

You guys who were pimping trying to get Alex Smith were absolutely right. (Toad comes to mind, who oddly also pimped Campbell.. Win/Win offseason )

I was skeptical of his game but he's been pretty dang good again this season. He ran for a huge amount of yards and threw a career high in TDs this season. I would have liked to see him in a Browns uniform this past year.

Lotta big plays by Browns players.

Some love for the Browns from Collinsworth, saying "I don't know if you've been watching the Browns at all lately, but they really have some nice talent" ...... or words to that effect.

That was a decent little block by Gordon on the TD. Not overpowering, but he sure got in the way.

I agree. Lots of fun!

Plus, it was great to see Browns players making plays for both sides. 6 TDs scored in the game, and 2 were by Gordon and Cameron. Haden had a nice INT. I thought that Mack looked damn good run blocking for his team. Nice showing by our guys. Ward made a couple of nice tackles, and almost had another INT as well. Thomas had some issues, but man, that was great pass rushers all across the board, and both teams OL had issues in general.

i wouldn't change to grammy's anyways..lol. But I def. like the new format. good thing too the old one was just dumb and very boring. I wish they'd do a skills competition the day before or something like they used to do with the QB's

.
The olines are always going to have issues when the Dline is allowed to stunt etc. I mean these guys are doing very very basic blocking schemes. I think its good though because it makes the QB's hurry up and they still have to make a good play. before they could just sit there and play catch.

Couldn't agree more. 4 pro bowl rushers vs an out of whack O-line trying to learn a new playbook.

It'll always be easier to "go get the QB" vs running a play so D-line SHOULD win, though I think Thomas actually did a really good job. On that last game winning drive he actually had a DOUBLE pancake on 1 play, bought Smith a lot of time.

Pro Bowl Draft Result if anyone is still interested.

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap2000000316912/article/2014-pro-bowl-draft-day-2-the-selections

Joe Haden (6 ov), Joe Thomas (8 ov), and Josh Gordon (10 ov) were drafted rounds 3, 4, 5.

TJ Ward was drafted in Round 11. Jordan Cameron (and Jason Witten) not drafted but assigned to team Sanders. Deion didn't draft a TE. No interior linemen (OG/C) were drafted it seems, just assigned.

BECAUSE Haden, Mack, and Ward could be free agents so they want their value shown vs. the best in the league. Smart move.

And not to beat a dead horse, there must have been SOME improvement over the year to get 6 pro bowlers (who influenced the game too!) over the year.

I kind of liked the the Uniforms. The White/Orange would actually work for the Browns, and the Grey/Green for Seattle.

I've never been one to like the "modern" flair on uniforms, but those ones actually had my interest.

I like the orange outline on the numbers... I think that would be a cool change for us.

I really hate that the NFL is so strict about their uniforms. Open it up. Let teams mess around with it. You play a game with one set that is new and different and see what the feedback is. I don't understand this 2 year waiting crap. Stupid if you ask me. I like that college lets you do whatever you want. I think it's cool. The matte helmets, and pro combat set ups... It's fun. The NFL takes themselves WAY too serious.
