I always thought that we could have had a really good offense if we went back to a FB like Vickers or Smith.

I don't know about a really good offense as an entire unit, but surely a good offense in terms of the run game. Especially with Trent, who at times is a bit undecided as to where to go and what hole to power into, that the vision of the fullback would have aided TRich in that. Would have been nice to see Trent make it passed the initial line without missing the hole, running into the line and so-forth. Not say there were always holes by our oline, so... nevertheless, be nice to watch Trent work in the open field more. Either or, fullback is a faded position and all vision is up to the RB in the majority of the offenses nowadays.

The Richardson problem is the COlts don't the Oline that we have. They are not as good at run blocking and Richardson made yards behind good blocks by Mack and Schwartz.

Code:

Richardson 2.9 ypc
Brown 5.3 ypc
Bradshaw 4.5 ypc
Herron 6.6 ypc

Did the Colts bring in a different OLine when Richardson did not run the ball?

LOL..........good post.

I have always said that TRich lacked vision. He danced too much at the LOS. He runs a east to west a bit too much in search of looking for the homerun. He wasn't decisive enough and displayed poor instincts.

He does have his strengths, but we are talking about his liabilities.

Btw------------he had HUGE holes at Alabama.
