I was doing some checking of the defenses the Bills ran last year and DC Pettine played various sets, with some being 4-3 and some 4-2-5.
...not sure if that factor in the DQ situation or not.
Also, when I looked at the Game Book...they listed their defensive personnel as a 4-3...only 3 LBs.

It may be more stable now than it has been.
That mad me *LOL* ... very happy I had nuttin to spit all over my puter screen .. how could things possibly not be "more" stable then they were ... those two words together look funny when talking about our past 8 weeks or so ... more and stable .. that insinuates there was some sort of stability to begin with .. what day was that ... I missed it .. *L* ..
just wondering .. HOW THE FLOCK COULD THINGS NOT BE MORE STABLE THEN THEY WERE?????? ...
thanks for the laugh bro ...
this sucks .. never really liked him as he had to many weaknesses but he was serviceable and a great leader .... he grew on me .. sucks but had to be done .... to bad we turned the coaching staff upside down ... another year under those guys with a QB and the sky would have been the limit ..

Please don't try to convince me that anything about Lombardi was stable

Do you not understand that that is exactly his point? That now that Lombardi is gone, we have more stability than we used to?
Thank goodness DQ turned down whatever it is that we offered him.
Stability?
Yeah...we need that...between the DL and secondary...because we had nothing there last year.
I respect Farmer even more now.
I'd give DQ big money to be our LBs coach...just so he would not take the field ever again in a Browns uniform.

J/C
I keep reading folks say he was worth the 4 million. Am I mistaken, or isn't that just the roster bonus? I believe with the bonus and salary, he was upwards of 7-8 million. I liked the guy, but he is way overrated as a player. He was a good leader, but not a dominant player. And definitely not worth that much money.

Broncos have Chris Beake & Cory Undlin who have both spent time coaching the Browns in DQ's tenure.
The Broncos also have Tom Heckert, who gave Jackson his extension in the first place.

I agree Willie. I think we are as stable as we have been in a long time.

OK, look it's diam,, it's hard to get to what he means given his style of writing.. So if I misunderstood him, so be it..

This is just the beginning of Farmer and Pettine restructuring the roster. Given our continual 4-12 seasons, I say go for it. I am sure there will be more unpopular decisions made.
Good, because in reality what we have and have done the past 15 years ain't working Change is needed and welcome JM0
What he said!
DQ never seemed to make that clutch game saving/changing play this defense so desperately needs.
I for one look forward to seeing a revamped LB crew.

J/c... There is good and bad usually with every move.
Bad. We just made maybe the weakest unit we got (ILB) weaker.
Good. We freed up more money and contract that just was not good for future negotiations. Also we have now committed to upgrading the ILB position both through FA and the draft.
I would bet my bottom dollar - after FA and draft when we compare ILB unit 2014 with ILB 2013 it will be tremendously upgraded...not even close...just speculation and a prediction.
Denver will be a great fit for DQ he earned it to play on a winner he still has about 3 prime years left. As long as his shoulders and legs hold out.

Yep, I say this can't be judged as a good/bad move until we see how they replace the man.
If they're able to get an upgrade, especially younger/cheaper, then its a win. If they hold tryouts for late round picks and UDFAs....uh-oh. I hope your prediction is right!
