thanks. missed that on Rinehart. ok, one fewer on the list. I didn't have Smith on my list, but I didn't watch the Rams enough to have a strong opinion on him either. if we do get him, I'll use my rewind pass to watch a couple games.

Your strategy to go cheap on running backs seems like a good one. We might be able to get multiple guys on one year contracts.
It seems like the wide receiver market is pretty slow as well.

I wouldn't want Ware. Injured and having offseason surgery on the elbow after an already less than stellar season. He'd have to come at a very reasonable number for me to be interested.
LaMarr Woodley, however, I would pursue.... but, it looks like he won't be released until June 2nd so that the Steelers can spread out the accelerated cap hit.

Giants sign brother Schwartz
Jerry Reese is a smart value grabber, always been that way. I'm surprised they let L.Joseph go, but he got two of my favs in RB Jennings and OG G.Schwartz.
I don't remember being THIS much activity EVER on day 1. Will there be anyone left for tomorrow?
I don't remember US being so active so quickly. Anyway, I'd have to check but it might be that way because of the extra cap space...
In 2006 the Browns picked up LeCharles Bentley, Joe Jurevicius, and Kevin Shaffer on the first day. We were all very excited.......

And then LeCharles lost his knees, and Shaffer was Shaffer.
At least JJ was awesome!

Correction. Woodley is officially released and signable now, he is just designated as a post June 1 cut for cap reporting purposes (I didn't know this was possible). So, we could sign him immediately, it seems.

Woodley will be designated a post-June 1 cut, allowing the Steelers to spread the salary-cap hit over two years. Now the No. 1 outside linebacker on the open market, Woodley will be free to sign with another team at the start of free agency Tuesday.

Don't be suprised to see Pinky gone soon as well. I love the guy but he is not cut out for the zone blocking we will be using either

As far as I know they don't have it. They are going to have to cut some more bodies.

Just saw this: CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Bengals restricted free agent receiver Andrew Hawkins has agreed in principal to a long-term deal with the Browns, but the Bengals can match it, his agent, Craig Schaeffer told cleveland.com. The deal is reportedly four years worth up to $13.1 million, according to the National Football Post. Hawkins (5-7, 175 pounds) will sign the deal tonight and it will be submitted on Wednesday. The Bengals will then have five days to match. If they choose not to match, he'll be under contract with the Browns. "Andrew is excited about the prospect of becoming a Cleveland Brown,'' Schaeffer said. If Hawkins -- a speedster who ran 4.34 coming out of Toledo -- signs with the Browns, it won't be his first go-round with the club. They worked him out in 2008 after he went undrafted, but opted not to sign him. Hawkins went on to play for the Montreal Allouettes of the Canadian Football League and then signed with the Rams in 2011. He was claimed by the Bengals via waivers that year and has been there ever since. In 2012, he caught a career-high 51 passes for 533 yards and four TDs. Last season, he suffered a serious ankle injury in preseason and played in only eight games. He caught 12 passes for 1999 yards. The Browns are looking for a slot receiver to replace Davone Bess, who was released earlier this month. The agreement was first reported by Albert Breer of NFL Network. http://www.cleveland.com/browns/index.ssf/2014/03/cleveland_browns_sign_cincinna.html

I am guessing this means that Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie is not re-signing with them.
