There must be a desperate need for guards in the NFL.

Even despite the horrible year that OL Oniel Cousins had with the Cleveland Browns in 2013, he was able to find a team to sign him to a one-year deal in free agency. That's what connections will do for a guy. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced today that they have signed Cousins to a one-year deal. George Warhop is the Buccaneers' offensive line coach, after being the Browns' offensive line coach from 2009-2013. Cousins was with Warhop for three of those years from 2011-2013.

The Buccaneers already have their three interior offensive linemen penciled in, so Cousins is expected to compete for a backup role in camp. Tampa Bay fans are already well aware of how poorly Cousins played during his tenure with the Browns:

If Lavaou got a multi year deal to be a starter, Cousins can be a backup.

I have a big feeling we will be going OG earlier in the draft than some expect. I have no clue what round but I could see it being a 2nd or 3rd round pick

they are huge needs for this team along with a QB/WR2 CB and ILB

It's funny, but all my latest mocks on First-Pick have the guards flying off the boards, never any there that wouldn't be a reach when I pick. Craziness like Sa'u-Filo & Yankey going mid first round, etc... Used to be able to take Sa'u-Filo or at least Yankey in the 2nd.

We made a new thread for this?

I say good bye and good riddance. He was sub par at tackle, and sub par at guard. See ya!

Tampa should have saved the money and just plugged this in at guard:

Buckys seem to be awfully thin to sign him. Maybe just for camp? He was awful IMO. I guess good luck, but to be able to line up in two positions and stink at both . . .mad skills that. Good riddance.

They didn't sign him to start...they have starters. They signed him for depth and to be a camp leader on how Warhop wants things ran.
