Exactly ... that's why I'm sick of this coverage and turn it off everytime I see it come on. Could we highlight this point, by making it bold, white and all caps?
As much as the media wants to find blame in something for this ... I find it funny that they've pointed the finger at: 1) Guns, 2) VT, for not calling in the National Guard at the sound of the first gunshot, 3) The students, for not being more pro-active in defending themselves or taking out the killer, 4) The VT professors and psychiatrists for not throwing this guy in the looney bin earlier. 5) any other number of reasons ...
Not once have I seen them point the finger back at themselves, for giving this guy so much attention ... WHICH IS EXACTLY WHAT HE WANTED. Now I'm sure there's some troubled youth out there somewhere watching all this saying to himself ... "F-this, if people don't start respecting me, I'm going to shoot them all up and be remembered like this guy too".

It's sickening I see more of him than I do the victims. I know it's important to understand what happened and all but show the people that died seriosuly, don't show the gunman.
The most I have seen of the victims was about a 30 second cameo. This reminds anyone else of how our media is driven on negativy.

Exactly ... I'd wish they'd refer to him as nothing more than "the killer" ... and talk about nothing but the victims. Of course they don't, and then wonder who we should point to finger at ... ignoring the four pointing back at them.

I just watched the video...man, this proves my point...he isn't a 'monster'...he isn't evil incarnate...he's a mentally ill, delusional, scared, confused idiot kid. You're going to look at the picture of that moron clenching his teeth and posing with a hammer and tell me that he's a 'monster'? That's what's so hard to accept for some, I think...that this carnage is capable of being done by one sick, jealous loner. But what's even more puzzling is not that it's happened (in fact, after it's happened I've begun to wonder why it took this long to happen)...but that this kid stops in between to videotape himself and send it to NB-freaking-C. Phil, he IS a monster. He killed 32 innocent people because he had issues. He knew he had issues. If you saw the video, you know that. So he was upset at "rich" people? So, you go kill people? He was tormented? And the result of tormenting is to kill people?
Sorry phil, I don't see it that way. He was a monster. A scheming, conniving, "the world should pity me cause ......." ogre/monster/murderer.
And before you go there, let me just say this: he was referred for help, and he went for help on his own as well. Problem is, he didn't want help. He wanted this.
Sorry, no one that wants help for their problems does something like this, and makes video tapes of it as well. He was a monster - a thug - a loser. The help was there for him, he refused it. Please don't start in with the "....he was crying out for help, and society failed him....." crap.

If two months ago some girl smiled at him at the right time, he goes on being a quiet loser forever...he wasn't destined to do this...a set of circumstances fell into place and the little punk went berserk...it's not the act of a monster, or evil...it's the act of a loser - the same meek, delusional loser who lives in his own little world that you see everywhere. They're all over the place, arch.

For what it's worth, Nancy Grace decided not to air any more pictures or video of the kid, realizing that releasing the video was wrong.
The media is only after ratings in this whole thing. They will drag this on as long as they can.

I agree... he was a monster and what he did was an act of evil..... but I also agree with Phil somewhat that he became a monster but a sad set of circumstances... however, he still made a choice to do what he did... many people have the same problems that this dude had and don't murder 32 people

I wish more people in the media would act like her. There was already a report of some bum in California that told somebody that he would make VT look "mild" so they locked down a bunch of schools over here ... what is the common theme here?? ATTENTION. And these stupid dolts in the media keep giving it to them.
Everyone seems to want to completely throw out or revise the 2nd amendment because 1% of society can't use guns responsibly. Maybe we should be revising the 1st amendment because 95% of the media can't act responsibly.
