As I type this, thousands of Indians fans are trying to get Larry Dolan on tape saying anything negative about race, religion, or sexual preference. But DAMN! The NBA dropped the hammer of Thor on Sterling's head. BOOM!

I guess (and agree he was awful), but they finally have a good team and possibly championship capable team for the first time. And, it is likely to get dismantled through this mess. I wouldn't be happy about that side of it.

I would think the team stays together despite any sale of the franchise. And anyway, changes will have to be made in the coming years anyway. I think that team is relly good, just not title ready.

I think if the Clippers had a Tony Allen they'd be title contenders.

Sometimes I honestly believe Popovich is the only competent basketball coach in the NBA. Scott Brooks had KD take a damn 30+ foot jump shot when they were only down 1.

Brooks has been horrible for awhile. Durant and Westbrook have covered up his sucktitude. They have no offense other than "Give Durant or Westbrook the ball and if Ibaka is open pass it to him."
Brooks is a goner if they lose this series. That would be a fun George Karl team.

The more Indy loses...
The more I get pissed at the Cavs...

if Sterling fights the NBA (which is what I suspect), then the sale can be delayed and I fully suspect that the team will end up getting pretty dismantled at the end of it.

Anyone feel that Joey Crawford stepped over the line and iced Kevin Durrant at the end of the game the other night?

There could be. He didn't gamble and owners couldn't even use tape in court. Commish arbitration doesn't hold because commish cannot force him out, only owners. Sterling just needs to decide if its worth potentially damaging the franchise value as without advertisors he would be eventually forced out that way.

Nah, it happens often enough that I would consider it normal operating procedure. And anyway, you're Kevin Durant, you're a 90% FT shooter, it's a one point game, and you're at home. You HAVE to hit that shot. No excuses.
The Thunder may be done. In fact, all three games tomorrow night should close out a series (Clips, Hawks & the Griz).

The commish puts it to a vote, the owners vote, they vote him out, he's gone, the league takes over the team until it's sold, just like NO...
Once he is voted out, he's gone from the team, advertisers come back, the Clippers have some nice PR campaign, and the team probably gets sold to a black guy...

I had put my post above before I saw that Sterling apparently admitted it was his voice on the tapes. Perhaps he let's this happen, takes his $1bil to $1.5bil and goes home.
But, my point was that the NBA was over-stepping their bounds here and it wasn't perfectly clear from the NBA constitution that he could be taken to court. Signed contracts are a huge part of our judicial system and I was expecting Donald to be stubborn and drag the league through them. If not, then at least that's the one good thing he does.

They only need a 3/4 vote from the owners.
And I can't honestly see any of them voting fr him to stay. That'd be suicide.

I think he'll fight it as long as he has money in the bank and air in his lungs. Now, I don't think that will slow down the sale of the Clippers.
I would also like to say, I'm sure there will be a public and media push to get another minority owner in the NBA. And I'm sure there's a bit of poetic justice in that. However, the league will sell to the highest bidder with a face their comfortable having around a lot. Meaning, Magic Johnson has the money and would be a great "face of the franchise". Floyd Mayweather and some of the other names being tossed around, not a chance.

I agree. I think they get the votes.
That isn't the point. The point is that Sterling can contest their right to vote him out in court based on the NBA constitution. The arbitration clause he signed doesn't cover owner actions (only commish actions, which he levied the hardest penalty he was allowed already).
I hope that Sterling sees the inevitability and just sells the team. I think that is best for everyone (especially us as fans of NBA). That is all.

We've got a ton of game 7's coming up, but I think the home teams will all of them. I'm not not changing my Finals pick until Indiana loses. San Antonio has looked a bit off at times, but Manu and Tim have looked like their younger selves in flashes. Miami sweeping Charlotte wasn't a shocker. I'm really looking forward to Houston and Portland.

I think Houston and OKC both advance, which is a shame because neither one has been the better team in their respective series. But home teams, superstar players, close-out games…they're going to get the benefit of every doubt.
The rest of the series have pretty much been snooze-fests outside of that game-winner by Vinsanity.

Didn't we only have like 6 game 7's in the ENTIRE playoffs last year? It's been a very weird first round.
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

Besides Indy, and that can be argued that they probably were going to at least struggle..
Nothing really out of the ordinary.. The west is solid from top to bottom, so all those series are going to be pretty even, and the East is terrible from near the top to bottom... So again, even...
Who's ready for a Wizards/Heat ECF? Anyone? No... Ok..

The playoffs have been awesome this year. I think 4 of the first 5 games I watched, mostly from the West, were OT games. Lots of great performances and OT games and the Western playoffs are freaking brutal. OKC had to fight Memphis 4 straight games into OT... you wonder how that affects them going forward. Loved the early performances by Aldridge, Pacers falling apart is intriguing, although I didn't really start taking Atlanta seriously until game 5 and then game 6 was on NBA TV, which I don't have. Mavs look tougher than expected and Vince Carter has been draining 3s every time I watch those games. The only real damper has been the Sterling fiasco as I'd much rather talk about basketball than some dbag owner.
But anyway, Miami has it so freaking easy this year. It wouldn't surprise me to see them steamroll the East and then wear down whatever beat up team comes out of the West. Kind of like I half-expected anyway, but it seems to be even more pronounced than I thought it would be. We'll see though... there is still a lot of basketball to be played.

I think they'll have trouble next round...
Toronto is young and fast, just inexperienced.. Brooklyn is eperienced, just old and slow...
I think I'd rather have them go up against Toronto, just cause they can "keep up" but a solid veteran team in the playoffs can do a lot...
I do like the matchup the Wizards give them, Nene vs Bosh? Please..

good Nene or bad Nene? assuming Nene doesn't get himself thrown out for multiple games. man, that guy is frustrating.

Nobody is athletic enough to keep up with Miami. Miami is a lot more half court oriented this year though.

TNT should just cancel the broadcast of tomorrow's game in protest (well, OKC will want to see it). ZBo should have been T'd up and/or thrown out of the game, not suspended for Game 7. Dumb.
The NBA follows the letter of the law for ZBo but not for Paul George stepping onto the court. They both shouldn't be suspended.
Oh well, I didn't think Memphis had much of a chance anyway, especially with Conley hurt.

So is the league going to punish Dwight for throwing the elbow to RoLo's neck? Magic right ball says "Don't count on it".
